The engineering of these war machines, vessels and aircraft for the time still just blows me away. They really were the Greatest Generation..on either side. Thanks Johnny
I known, I think the same thing. They just saw the problem and made something to do the job, amazing!! Thanks for watching, take care and model on my friend. Johnny
Really enjoyed this episode Johnny..I like your barrel scrapping tool and be on the look out for one of them..Your seem work on the turret really added also. Its coming on well.. Until next time, thank you and all the best 🇬🇧🇺🇸👍
Thanks Paul, glad you enjoyed the vid, those cast seams can be tricky but thankfully Tamiya placed their part seam right in the middle making it easy to blend and texture. Thanks for tuning in my friend, take care. Johnny
Great progress really like your well.Scenes pretty cool can't wait for you to paint it.I'm always enjoying watching your videos. Can't wait for you next keep up the good work
The PE is probably either stainless steel or nickel silver. You are making good progress Johnny. Was fortunate to get to the tank museum at Kubinka outside Moscow, you would love it.
Hey Simon, you're probably right about the PE, it is much harder to cut and sand. The only tank museum I've actually been to was the one in Aberdeen MD when I was there for school, it has long since moved to Fort Moore GA I think. I really need to get out more, lol! Thanks for watching buddy, take care and model on. Johnny
Hi Johnny, looking good sir, enjoyed the swag/sag last week😂 I think the weld seam looks as rough and ready and makes it more authentic. It’s nearly my favourite part as you don the hillbilly paint chemists smock soon 😎👍 stay safe my friend see you friday
Morning Johnny, the build is coming along very nicely, you are certainly doing some great detail work, if you ever get the opportunity to travel to Australia you must go to Cairns in North Queesland and see the Australian Armour and Artillery Museum, it is well worth the visit, best regarcs from a Kiwi living in Australia, Les
Hi Les, yes, I intend to someday to visit the Australian Armour and Artillery Museum, I really like watching their "Workshop Wednesday" each week. Those guys really do great work. Thanks for watching, take care and model on! Johnny
😎 Good work as always sir 👍🎩. Never been a fan of split cannon barrel ,can never get it right. Wooden pegs great tip 💡 ,sadly Alexen sold out in jolly old England 😭😭will keep ones eye out for that ,looked uber good. Seen plenty T34 with horror weld seams 😂😂.
Thanks Steve, this cannon goes together very well, a little fill and sanding but overall, quite good. I was informed by a viewer in Russia that the front of the turret was bolted on, not welded. But I really couldn't tell from the pictures that I found. Weld seams are something that I need to practice. Thanks so much for watching, greatly appreciated my friend. Take care and model on. Johnny
Hi Rick, Simon says that it is probably stainless, not sure if annealing it would help, I'll try it next time just to see. Thanks so much for watching, take care, have a great weekend. Johnny
@hillbillymodeling no heating up tamiyas etch will allow it to be bent quite easily, I'm working on tamiya s bt7 1937, and the main exhaust screen, the big round one in the back, bent easily after I used a lighter to heat it up. Yes that stuff is crazy tough. But it is possible to bend it. You just need to heat it up for quite along time.
Hi Keith, no, not in the Smokey's, I'm in southern West Verginia and the Smokey's are about 3 and half hours away in Tennessee. Still beautiful country. Thanks for watching, take care and model on. Johnny
Hi Maxim, I'll have to take your word for it. I never could find a clear photo to really be able to tell if it was welded or not. So, I guess mine is welded, LOL. Thanks for the information, really appreciate it my friend. Take care. Johnny

Great work on the weld seam Johnny. The extra detailing makes it stand out from the crowd. Great to see my friend.
Thanks Steve👍one day I hope to be nearly as good as you, 😉. Thanks so much for watching, take care my friend! Johnny

Uncle Johnny you got to heat that tamiya etch up. After you do that itll be much essier to cut and bend, etc.

Are you in the Smokey Mountains? My dad was up that way. Great country.

Welding is not used between forward mask and turret. Forward mask join with turret use bolts.

😞Ok, please disregard my comment of the previous video! I didn't know, that the weld seams were integrally molded onto the fuel tanks.
Thats right, but thanks for commenting anyway, buddy, I really appreciate it! Johnny
