It is, really, but before the "live recordings" of the actual event that are CD-released today, Boskovsky and the orchestra would go into the Sofiensale in Bezirk Landstrasse, and record a selection of the pieces, but limited to the length of ONE LP. Hope this helps.

For me its not a real new yearsconcert but "studioversions" recorded on new years day! There's is no public, without public you dont have a concert, just recordings from the famous Sofieen-saal (used by DECCA) before the fire in 2001!
