01:09:51 "A rovin' " or "The Lady of Amsterdam" was also used in the great movie "Moby Dick" from 1956. No movie ever could show the whaler's lifes better by an artificial example than this one.
this brings back memories for me on my console days at a young age, im 22 now and i remember playing this when it came out, its been nearly 10 years since ive sailed those seas but i do fondly remember sailing for hours collecting shanties and listening to them until i knew most of them off by heart pretty sure i got 28 or more from my rough recollection and listening to this brought back a few memories i forgot about :) , but its not really supported for a high end PC (which looks so good, trust me i played the console versions to death, but i want that Master race experiece lol) so its just a fond memory at this stage
i got into shanties from assassin's creed black flag. i use to be in the navy and i got all of the shanties from black flag. so the next day i was at work i was listening to them as we were doing a bunch of work on the ship i was on. several of the guys heard me singing and asked me what i was doing. i told them we're working on a boat so im singing a shanty. 5 minutes later our chief walks out to where we're all at and hears us singing along to them as we're working. he was new to the boat and our division so i gave him a great impression of the kind of shit i could cause given the chance.
You may also enjoy Antti Martikainen's music (he has posted his Set Sail for the Golden Age album here on RUclips, and has a bunch more on Bandcamp). All of his stuff is without lyrics, so doesn't cut in while people are talking. I find it great for battles and the like, since it's almost all energetic, "epic" tunes - so less good for calmer scenes - but very atmospheric.
its always amazing how much a good music choice can change the setting for a campaign. i used a very different song when introduced a boss in my own campaign.
@@architmittal4435 just, buy a boat out of nowhere, and then show up at your best friend's door randomly, and just go "I need your help. Don't ask, dont tell anyone. follow me." and then when you're in the water in the boat, you just turn to him and say "Now sing."
The second song at 01:14 is the same song you can hear and see in the movie "Moby Dick" made in 1956 during the harbour leaving scene at the beginning of "Pequod's" unholy journey. It's a real shanty!! Thanks a lot for the upload!

the fact that I was on ship for 6 months and didn't hear a single sea shanty has always been a severe dissapointment..
