    Hey Ruben great video man. If you ever get a chance could you do a video of, when your laying vinyl plank or lvp in a situation where their is a living room, dining room , Hall and kitchen all together. How to figure out what size piece to start with so you don't end up with like a 1 inch rip on your last row. Hope that makes sense to you. Thanks✌

    • @FloorsbySouthernboys
      @FloorsbySouthernboys  3 года назад +1

      You’ll take the same steps as shown in this video, and if the pillars are only 8 feet from the end of the room I would probably just run a seam lengthways behind the pole to the wall so that you can get a good row cut Do not have to make any cross cut in your carpet

    I'm gunna be recarpetting my girlfriends parents basement when the warmer weather finally shows up. It's the basement level of the house over concrete, I was wondering what you do for prep underneath the carpet and pad. I noticed that the table legs and other things in contact with the floor seemed to look damp in the humid days of our wisconsin summer. I assumed it was the concrete sweating and the moisture soaking up through the pad and carpet into things set on it. would it be a viable option to just put down a plastic vapor barrier sheeting under the pad to keep it from coming up through? if so what would be the preferred thickness? I've done a little research and found the proper way was to also add a layer of plywood over the floor but they're not looking to spend that much nor am I looking to do that much work for free. thanks

    • @FloorsbySouthernboys
      @FloorsbySouthernboys  5 лет назад

      Kyle Walker not ever really dealt with this before, someone else could probably give you more accurate feedback, however I would probably use a roofing felt paper instead of plastic, but either way there will always be a chance of mold forming or moisture gets trapped, sorry I couldn’t be of more help

    How do I clean latex seam sealer off a glue down seam

    • @FloorsbySouthernboys

      jerry green That is a good one, I have never encountered that, latex never hardens so if it’s not too bad not be able to pick it off like a rubbery substance, it’s kind of hard to tell without seeing it, However I would be extremely cautious about putting chemicals on it to remove it because it is a seam, wish I Could help you more
