Wow! What a great giveaway! I'm not a medical professional, and I already have 3 CAT tourniquets, but the Field Guide to Wilderness Medicine was my first choice of prizes. What a wonderful book and signed by Mr. Auerbach! Whoever wins these valuable prizes will be very fortunate! As for the uses for the plastic bags, I have carried one for years containing clean folded paper towels and I can't count all the times I've been glad that I did. They are fast and absorbent for wounds until you can get into your med kit, and I find them constantly useful. I read a book years ago that mentioned how many lives could have been saved if only people had a plastic bag. (before they were invented.) I appreciate and will remember your tip about using a bag to create a pressure stream to clean wounds . Thank you Dan for your video lesson and generous giveaway! Good luck to everyone :)

Hey Dan! I recently discovered your channel and binge watched a bunch of videos. Really great content! A lot of people in online forums lately have been mentioning that there are not enough outdoors RUclipsrs talking about wilderness first aid, and I agree. So I was really excited to discover your channel, and I hope everyone else does too, because you’re doing something no one else is really doing. Not to mention you actually have the credentials to back up your claims. Thank you for creating these videos.
I am not medical, but my wife is an RN. On the other hand, I have a CAT tourniquet and that wilderness first aid book on my Amazon wish list. So my fingers are crossed. 🤞Wish me luck!

Hey Dan! Thanks for the book! I can’t wait to start reading it. I’ll have plenty of time over these next couple of weeks.

Plastic bags could be used as gloves to assist a bleeding person .

You can find a sideways branch on a tree and stick the branch into the bag. Overnite it will collect a little water from the condensation. If you have a few bags, you have a refreshing drink.

Thanks for the happy memory Dan. My folks gave me Wonder Bread bags to put on my feet. Great items but don't include me in the giveaway.

This is thinking WAY OUTSIDE the box, but hear me out on another use for the ziplock bags, lol.
If your out in the cold and have HD freezer bags and have to pee, could you pee in the bag (sealing well of course 😂) and put it next to your skin to help keep you warm? Kind of like how people put hot water in a Nalgene bottle? I know, I know, it sounds crazy, but just a thought.
As always Mr. Dan, good stuff and thank you.
