Nice video. I'm in the process of building a small CNC lathe right now. I'll have to check out your other videos see if I can borrow some of your good ideas.

Go right ahead Happy to Help
Nice part!
Thanks you can see she cuts smooth haven't really pushed her yet.
Love your enclosure, wish I had one of those on my machine, nice job.
I would be pushing those cuts a bit more to try and break a chip instead of getting a rats nest. I know when I first ran my g0602 I was doing it the same way, babying all the rough cuts, but really you gotta get rough and push that thing. I have found for aluminum a .015-.018 step down at .01 IPR will make a nice chip for most operations. What are you using for your control software, mach3, linuxcnc?
Mach3
Yeah very conservative on this part there's 6 inches hanging out so I did not want to puts it but I think a increase in doc is needed.
Now that it's done, are you happy with the build? Anything you'd change? Do you think those stepper motors are a good size?
Very happy with the conversion However there is always things I would change!
I would go with a 2 HP motor and VFD Just because is not much different in $. Steppers are fine But I really like the 3 phase on the PM727 so I would go that route. Tray deeper it fills up fast with chips. And I would use the C11gs and make it full CNC from the Start and not install a PoT.
Thank you for letting me know, where you purchased the QCTP I visited shars wesite and they have a few different models .
Do you remember what model tool holder you bought ?
Again thank you for responding
AXA 202- 9474 and 1/2" tools
pro tip: you can watch series on flixzone. I've been using them for watching loads of movies recently.
@Milo Rocky yup, I have been using Flixzone for since december myself =)
Hi
Nice set up , just wondering which QCTP you are using and where did you buy it?
The one I'm using came from Shars along with the tool Holders.
How do you get your feeds and speeds??
No real good answer for that. In the beginning I was running the G0602 in ipm. But now I run at constant surface speed and feed per revolution.
Normally around. 01 .02
Kewl! What are the spacers for?
+Crivo152 Thanks,
There more Adapters for air intake systems
+CNC4XR7 Ha ha, are you planning on turbocharging that mill?
you where taking small cuts that is why could break chips
Yes
