- Some riffs from the killer classic Exodus song Impaler on the SD-1 boosted Peavey Supreme 160. Using my Jackson RR5 tuned to D. Mic is a Sennheiser E609 on a UK V30. Gets pretty close the tone territory on Tempo of the Damned. Not bad for a $200 solid state head from the early 90s!
The sound is fantastic man! It carried me away to the superior metal tones of yesterday! Thanks!
Thanks! This thing is a real beast!
Great tone!
Thanks!
Sick
Thanks!
And then there were none! And they get derided a lot but bro are you a fan of Line6 heads?
To be honest, I haven't really played any Line6 gear since the early 2000s. It didn't really impress me back then so I never got into them. I know they have come a LONG way since then though. Someday I may check some of their stuff out if I come across it cheap.
@@low_e_music Fair enough! The deicide brothers got a great sound out of Line6 amps for their Amon gigs in Tampa, and even the Mighty Mustaine briefly used them before getting his Marshall signature head, so they must be reasonable?!
@@mikerauter1859 For sure, I am sure they make some great stuff.
@@mikerauter1859 what models? Is there videos? Line 6 helix sound great but idk about a spider lol
I had a Vetta II half stack, it covered Marshall and Fender tones well but it sucked for the high gain settings
I guess you have gain boost off and mid-shift engaged on the lead channel? The SD1 is less sharp than the built in booster...
I don't remember 100% but it looks like the gain boost is on in the pic and the mid switch is out. The SD-1 with the gain off and level maxed is actually about the same as the built in boost. Love this amp!
