Totally understand his situation ….. he’s a great man …. But sometimes people just get down. His partner in passing is a huge factor, but so is the inability to enjoy a level of competition you once ruled. It’s a tough decision to accept the fact …… your not nearly as good as you once were…. Plus it hurts in trying to play that unattainable level… LOVE YOU MR. Watson…. Smile and hope you find a companion that gets it…. Enjoy her!!
Let's all wish Tom Watson the best. It can be very hard on someone to have a significant other who is deathly ill (even if that person does not eventually die). Tom is probably at least partly grumpy because he cannot play golf the way he used to be able to. Again I wish him the best.
Check your facts. They weren’t married that long. He was married to Linda Rubin for decades and she was the mother of their kids. He divorced her and married Hilary who was married to pro golfer Denis Watson from South Africa. You don’t mention his alcohol issues. Do some homework. Great golfer and gentleman and a super sportsman.
@@jcoats1203 He’s probably just miserable cause the fact of his age. Some older folks are able to adjust their behavior/ activities to enable happiness. He might be a lonely person…. I know of a lot of older grumpy seniors…. Mainly because of the news, cost of living increases…. A lot of just society dumps on them. That’s why FAMILY IS A VERY IMPORTANT PART OF LIFE!!! From what I understand, Arnold Palmer had a great attitude about aging and golf. He got out and played with his friends as often as he could and was quoted as saying "I still hit the ball as good as I ever did. The only problem is, now I hear it land." or words to that effect. Also, these AI generated, Click Baiting reports that play on people's sympathies need to be looked into by YT. From what I've seen every report is of tragic circumstances of one kind or the other. Nobody gets out of this alive. No mention of his first marriage or his bout with alcoholism.

I was a big fan of Tom Watson for many years, and was heartbroken when he lost the playoff for his sixth Open Championship. However, after the 2014 Ryder Cup, I began to see him more of a cranky old man rather than the inspirational leader he once was. I did feel badly for him at the loss of his second wife, mainly because it appeared that they had a very good relationship of twenty years. I was also impressed that, despite their difference of opinions about the 2014 Ryder Cup, Phil Mickelson and his wife Amy were very supportive of Tom and Hillary in her battle with cancer and in her passing. Tom Watson was and is a highly intelligent, highly skilled golfer who will forever be ranked among the best to ever play the game.
I am so sorry to hear of Tom's lonely life and wish him a much better future. Saw him win British Open at Troon Scotland in 1983 super golfer and well loved person.
I believe it happens to many, lack of energy, motivation, things that use to make you happy that you looked forward to do isnt there anymore. Few true friends, depression and loneliness sets in, if you can't get motivated enough to get out and get involved your life will spiral downward. Health problems start creeping in, hopefully Tom can pick himself up and also the million of others who suffer from the same 😔
Loneliness is a huge problem these days and success or wealth or celebrity status don't always shield you from it's effects. Sons and daughters should make a big difference but that is not always the case either. There is lots of wise advice in the commentary. The beauty of religious belief is the knowledge that we're never really alone. Tom is an outstanding gentleman and sportsman. God bless him.
I am going through something similar, I'm retired and was married 41 years, but she passed away 6 years so at 87 I understand Tom's problem, I'm also a life long golf5er and saw Tom win the US open at pebble beach
Tom was known to have a drink problem years ago when I played a lot of golf it was remarked on by Pro s I knew and l have experienced having bad experiences with alcohol ice who don’t accept they are!

What’s the point of creating and posting an untrue and misleading account of Tom Watson’s current life situation? It is far from what your tagline suggests. Shame on you.
@dlpine71 Thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts. The information shared in this video is based on articles and news that are available online.
I never liked that he pushed to get gary accord banned from augusta referring to him as a lesion. Watson the drunk is not a example of perfection himself.
Alcohol caused Tom to win only once during a ten year period on The PGA Tour (1984 to 1994). His caddy, Bruce Edwards even left him. The loss at Turnberry in 2009 sent him over the edge
So sorry to hear this. Tom Watson personified all that is great about the game of golf. I pray he gets calls out to The Lord Jesus Christ - the greatest of all comforters.

Thank you for your feedback. We are currently focusing on posts about the negatives in players' careers because it seems that people would rather watch negative or controversial moments over the positive ones. This does not discredit or take away from their careers in any way.
He will always be remembered for everything that is good in golf and I hope he is having a happy life now.
I love Tom and I wish him all the best
He’s living well here in the Kansas City area.
Class act. Met the man and he could not have been nicer.
Tom Watson one of the all time Great Men in GOLF Period

I had the pleasure of meeting him at a senior open. Couldn’t have been a nicer or more gracious guy. So nice to my young kids.

Mr. Watson needs the Lord. Only he can heal broken heart.

Take care tom Watson keep your head up
Always have been a fan of Tom !!
He is an alcoholic. Depression will always be a problem.
I would not believe this untrustworthy lawyer for 1 minute. How disgusting of him to "reveal" this news anonymously. Ask Tom, not this present lawyer
His lawyer is Charles Rubin, brother of his first wife, Linda
He remained his business manager despite the divorce.

Just out of curiosity, do you know him? If so, how is he really doing?

No. He accepted it
At the same age as Mr Wstson I have gone through some of the more pain situations. His feelings are normal.
Just repeating the same thing doesnt make this a story.

This is spam.
He needs Jesus!!
This video is a lot of BS, period. What are you talking about, you don't know Tom Watson...
The information shared in this video is based on articles and news that are available online.
It's from "Ace Icons" who only publish trash and fabrications. I haven't seen a single "article" they have produced that was factual or accurate.
@Ace-Icons it's all BS...Google can't tell you what happened in the 70s bozo
Your videos are awful clickbait
Did Nick Faldo's ex rinse Tom in a 3 month marriage?? Looked like a shake down on a vulnerable abd genuine man
???
@barry5138 That lady was Faldo's ex? Did not know that
@barry5138 as far as I knowchis first narriage was to Linda that ended in divorce and his second narriage to Hillary ended when she passed away ???
They were married in July of ‘22. In Sept. of that year she experienced a health issue that Tom couldn’t deal with and subsequently filed for divorce.
Rubbish.
Ground control to Major Tom. Listen to David Bowie's song.
