- Yamaha DT125R colour options for all models released between 1988 and 2002. I fell down the rabbit hole and wanted to figure out every graphic design that Yamaha released for their 2 decade run of this popular 2 stroke motorcycle. Some people have compiled this information before but unfortunately I can't find it so hopefully this video can help people distinguish each model and year apart or might help in the restoration of their original colours and designs. I have tried my best to include everything but I am sure I have missed a few because of the many variations of models and countries this bike was released in. Let me know if you know of any models I've missed so I can correct them.

Weird that 25k people watched this, Yamaha DT is a legend for sure.
Can't fault any of those colour schemes ❤. Thanks for posting
1:26. My very first bike. I loved that thing. I couldn't wheelie it very well. But I could do 60mph rolling stoppies. I was gutted when it was stolen. I have worked in the bike trade since I was fifteen, ridden most modern bikes up to 2017. But this was the most fun bike I ever rode. And some of the shenanigans I got up to on it....
If I didn't have witnesses no one would believe me
I had the blue with yellow decal 1989 model back in the day - had it for 2 years and it eventually got nicked outside my house and I never saw it again, such a great fun bike to have as a teenager
My 89 model got nicked as well it was black blue seat on a G plate, they got in though garage roof an cut handbrake cable on car to move it back , I found out who done it , we got him years after, we shot him with a taser , bastard ,
I had a blue 2000 model, sold it when i passed my full bike test but really regret not keeping it as a winter and off road bike
The 1990 dt in red was a good colour there was a few around west cornwall back in the day
I had 2 black ones with blue seat , a purple one with a cream seat an the white and red one , I loved them DT125R s
The blue one from 96 and still having it 🙂 At the moment the engine is getting new bearings.
I love it
Ahaa thanks for this bud great video ....unfortunately i now know i used the wrong decal set i have an 89 kickstart model with 91 graphics haha ...dammit lol
Same lol. My 90 was registered late in 91 so it confused me. At least we'll know now next time! 😁
Mine was a black n red 89 model. I had to wait till after Xmas to pick it up cos it had the newer 89 model sticker decals. It's been along time but the decals looked diff to your 89 models.. Could be wrong.
I have a copy of the UK sales brochure from 1988 and 89 if you'd like me to email them on. The 1988 brochure has a better photo of the black and red model. It's possible I've missed some though, so I'd love to find out.
@@RHauto my decals were more like the older ones but I was told I could not have the bike until after Jan 1st as its the 89 model with different decals. Thanks for the offer but I'm good. I will search out my vid footage sooner or later of the bike and then I will know.
I to wanted a black one back in November 89 told I had to wait 3 months for one so I had a 89 red and white 125 tzr wish I had waited for one in West cornwall
@@tonyking7741 lush looking bikes. I got a TZR about 7 months after the DT. Trust me, the TZR was faster and more stable and handled better. . The DTs speed was badly effected when driven into the wind. Good off roader though.
❤
What model is the main black and yellow for secondary colour one

@@RHauto nah i couldnt find in your video ):
@@RHauto my late grandpa owns one so tryna figure which model he has
I'm curious where they sold the early models with electric start... cause here in Germany where I live the 'RE' was only introduced in 2004 with the major facelift. The prior models de03, 4bl all came kickstart only.
Most of the electric models I've seen for sale adverts were French it seems
@@RHauto oh, interesting... thanks!
Schweiz natürlich, wir haben eine 1989er.
@@RHauto I just took delivery of a French 1992 electric start model (some 23 years my junior) with the white/pink/blue livery, and came here to check how the decals go as new ones are being put on right now. I need to source a new starting/stop switch and can't find one anywhere as the electric start model is so damned rare. Fabulous bikes, and more than a little bit quick for a 125, wheeeEEEEEE!
@@shaun.rimmer not sure what switchgear is on the 1992, would parts from a tdr125 fit and possibly easier to source? Might be worth checking the part numbers. Sounds like a beaut nonetheless, best of luck with er!
I have a sky blue 89 and a 01 BLUE
You can never have too many 💪😂
Bro pls doing for me, colour scheme for yamaha rx100 or 135

@RHauto nop..actually i wana a unique design...
can somebody explain me what happened in 2001?
I think the same colours from 2000 were also sold in 2001 so I just left it out
Black n Red was my baby Brand new in 1989. F232PWS.
@@richhughes7450 Tax due since Oct 1994 on that reg, someone changed it to yellow too it seems lol. Shame really, they look great in black and red!
@@RHauto yeah. I looked it up a few years back. Some idiots about. Suzukis are yellow lol. I got that colour cos it looked well lush.
i have 2002 model
Don’t see my colour scheme from 1990 🤔
Could you send me a link to your colour scheme please as I may have missed a couple. My bike is also 1990 so I'm curious
@@RHauto turns out mine may have aftermarket decals on instead of correct ones for the year it’s just I’ve seen more than one the same as mine so must be a coincidence…and of course good taste 😝
