Waa! This is so well timed to the music, and the visual style is both pretty and relaxing

Woah! The algorithm's blessed me! The ending part with the pan up was especially good

So I don't really comment often, at all, I can't remember the last time I have actually, it's mostly because I don't want to argue with people on the internet, or maybe simply because my comments often get flooded by other comments anyway.
what I'm saying is this video kind of hit me in a way I didn't really expect. It hit me hard enough to bother commenting I suppose.
first of all I discovered that video via your celeste "what it feels like to be a casual player" where you plugged that video.
Now I usually don't bother clicking those because I came for the meme video, I saw the meme video, I can leave now.
for some reason I decided to click it.
and at first the animation and the quality of the drawings felt a little subpar, I thought of quitting right here and then, but I decided to stick with it anyway, what do I have to lose?
then the animation slowly got better, more expressive, little tricks here and there to make it visually interesting, the music enhancing the whole feel.
and when it was over and I read the description I learned that this took a year and you had no prior drawing experience before this.
working on a project, no matter what it is, for a year takes some serious determination, more than most people think it does, this video doesn't have that many views yet probably had way more effort and work put into it than many others, but I don't think this was made in search of popularity this was made as...
well I don't know what this video means to you, but I'm sure it means a lot.
anyway this comment is long enough as it is, I guess all I want to say is good job, it was a nice experience.

Since you were nice enough to leave such a good comment, I'll give you a few reasons why I decided to pursue this and my thoughts around making it!
      1. 2020 was hard year. I wanted to put something out there that had a positive message that people could stumble into. I knew that I couldn't really draw in a realistic style. But, I felt as long as I was smart about my style and realistic about what I could handle, I could get something that could be meaningful. Being meaningful was way more important than being popular/trend setting overall.
      2. I wanted to explore a little bit. That branches out into all sorts of interpretations. Exploring my own style. What it's like to make a music video. Character expression. Music expression. All important and personal parts of art.
      3. Spending a long time making something was a good way to prove I could put my mind into something and finish a project. In particularly this one, it's especially meaningful because drawing is something I attempted once (I had one drawing class in college over 8 years ago where I felt I didn't really learn anything). But, it's also married to music which I'm much more comfortable with interpreting. A good middle ground.
That's at least a bit of where this is coming from. Thank you for persevering to the end! The vid is weighted towards the backend. So, it rewards people who make it all the way.

Yeeeep, I found the stream hurt my wrist too much. So, I couldn't do it again. But, I was still working on it!
