ok so I was lucky because I had previously beaten it with assist mode only for rooms I absolutely couldn't beat at the time meaning that i didn't have much trouble when I played the full thing legit (even for the last room???)

Seeing that 5000 is a high amount of deaths, makes me feel a little bit dumb for having more than 8000 and still not completed Farewell

Love how "easy" is in quotes because at this point "easy" is a relative term.

The part at 0:30 was so evil. I didn't struggle with many sections EXCEPT for that one. I think that's where the majority of my deaths happened playing this chapter. Sidenote, when I was following a walkthrough for Farewell, I stopped the video at the fuse box, so I didn't realize I was supposed to dash into the birb, but I noticed it last second and managed to save it. If I had missed it, I think I would have broken down.

This still doesn't look as bad as any side of Chapter 3. No seriously, screw Mr.Oshiro

Holy shart seeing the last room triggered my PTSD. I did Farewell before even ATTEMPTING most of the B-sides and somehow came out with only 2000 something deaths… *Nothing about it was remotely okay.*

I had 4hours on the clock with Farewell and i was 100% sure i was in one of the last jumps then my friend who watched as i streamed it on discord went to look it up on youtube and told me i was only about half way through the level i was crushed by that information

I remember that time where I self-taught myself to wavedash. I was spamming random buttons and saw Madeline move weirdly, so I narrowed down my options and learned how to wavedash. I don’t know how I got here, but it happened 💀

I'm half way on chapter 9 and its like. okey... it's hard but not imposible. Meanwhile all youtube: it's a fucking nightmare... I'm scared

i learned how to wavedash in chapter 3 b-side..

I gave up after trying the B-Sides, beat like 2 but it just isn't worth my time, especially after seeing you're forced to learn (old) speedrun tech if you do anything outside the A-Sides. Respect to those can do the tricks and beat all that stuff, though.

The 3rd screen you showed took me like 10% of my whole re-run time

I straight up just turned on assist mode for one of the rooms, and turned down game speed to 50%. It was that one room with the moving platform to the right, and you had to perform one of those wall up-jumps and grabs with frame perfect timing.

As someone in that exact situation, I feel you. I just have to come to terms with the fact that I won't be able to beat that level. Music is neat, tho.

i think by the time i’m done i’ll have 10k deaths. 5k spent figuring out the right path for each room and the other 5k spent actually clearing the room

Any time I go back and see videos of chapter nine of some of the C sides I can't believe I actually did all that.

Outside challenges like golds and speedruns, this game is a lot more value for casual players

5k is not even that big of a number I've seen people completing it in 9+k on deaths counter

i did the math, they spent somewhere around 1.5 HOURS being dead/respawning, plus or minus .5 hours, not even accounting for the time spent falling/flinging to your death or reacting to having just died.
