- I'm back in the UK after a 2 month trip around the south of Thailand! What a trip indeed. I will be uploading more of that trip in the coming weeks along side my current Whitby content.
In this video I'm trying to put the van back together. However the sliding door has stopped working and to make matters worse, the back door gave up the ghost not long after. What to do!? I'm also back in work, gah! I need a drink!

I'm making this up as I go. How am I going to afford it? Where am I going? Why? What do I get up to?
It's going on right now, I'm out here full time and seeing where it takes me!

This is my first van conversion. I have no experience nor particular skills in this. I am basically converting a van to live in full time using the information from watching youtube videos...Let's see how that pans out :)

Hi, my name is Si.
In late September of 2021 I decided that I was a little bored with my small business selling antique and vintage furniture based in South Wales UK which we started 4 years ago from the ground up. I fancied doing something else completely, something fun and a new challenge, and that new thing is full time van life.
So, currently, I've closed down the business and I'm now living in the van partime. I have a Ford Transit SWB medium top van and that’s pretty much it. From here on out I am going to be filming my journey into full time vanlife, the van conversion (no experience) and everything it takes to get there. A kind of before and after video series of how I finally (no guarantees) got to where I want to be.
I am hoping to have the conversion done by summer 2022 (this didn't happen! maybe summer 2023?) and then travel fulltime around the coastline of the UK working along the way to fund the project/lifestyle. I may head to Spain first though? I have no idea what is about to happen... :)
Join me in that process (warts and all) and hopefully I can inspire someone else to do whatever it is they wish to do from the absolute ground up.

That dodgy door sensor is forcing yoga on your body. I know how annoying it is when you hit the key fob and th horn goes off. Good to see your back in Whitby and you had a smashing time in Thailand. Im will try and catch up for a pint in May. All the best!

I had E3 code on mine, changed the glow plug and no problems. The heater hadn't been used that much so was very reluctant. And my fan made the same noise and it was the cable rubbing also. Happy days when it started working again Michelle

@SuperVanVagabond The heater the most important piece of kit.
@@ilikejelly7890 yeah pretty much. Especially winter as the humidity will cause condensation and will create mould and if it gets too bad, you're van is done. Besides, when your van is warm, you want to spend time inside it.
That noise blocking out the swearing is epic 😂 hope youre doing ok

Doors.... clean ALL door contacts even fuel cap if it locks like mine and charge batteries, if one of my doors gets grubby mine struggles locking to, use some emery paper or something abrasive to get the black bits off the square contacts... hope it helps
Heater.... get rid get a electric panel heater from go outdoors or something... less error codes 😂 hopefully come over for a catchup early April for gills bday 🎉🥳

I am 35 and my back just couldn't cope with getting in and out of that space, I can put my back out by shutting a window or drawing the curtains.
