A TV station in the Philippines is making a live action adaptation of Voltes V, with Toei's supervision. I hope that it will go well. Who knows, maybe in the future, SRW will adapt it (though the live action characters will have a new, anime-style art or retain the original anime's artwork)
It is hard to imagine how to film it at all considering the original show’s realism is non-existent. So I really look forward to see how it will turn out. First a French studio made Grendizer video game and now this. Man it just feels good to know these epic robot animes from our childhood are not forgotten at all.

The characters shown here could been use for Voltes V season 2, where a greedy human decided he wants to use voltes v to rule the world after the Earth and Boazan made peace to each other. So he challenged them by building beast fighters that a lot stronger than Godor.
It's a very normal thing not to be surprised if you played Super Robot Taisen/Super Robot Wars games ever since 1991(SRW Alpha 3 Voltes V for me is still the best). This isn't the first time Voltes V team fought Mazinger's enemies before. But it sure is the first time they fought Mazinger Z INFINITY's enemies.
Unless they'll request for Akira Kamiya(Kazuya Ryuzaki's VA) to return in the voice fray for SRW30. Or they'll recycle his previous audio clips from old games.
Kenichi's calling out the attacks doesn't have that "wildness" of the original. I mean, not sure if it's the same VA or not but even if it was, it doesn't sound as powerful as it was in the show.

You unlock a few chapters after downloading the DLC. Playing these additional chapters and you will be able to have the new mechs joining your team permanently.
I just can't believe they replaced the Tenkukken with "laser sword". That's a lame ass name when I realized that the Japanese counterpart means "sword of heaven". Geez
late reply but basically blame religion for that, it's basically the same as G Gundam in the west as to why the english dub changed God in God Gundam and God Finger to Burning Gundam and Burning Finger. Philippines is a heavy Christian religious country so that's probably the reason why they changed it and why nowadays it became iconic to Filipinos. I am lucky enough that my dad showed me the Japanese dub with english sub of the original anime so i always know it as "Heaven Sword/Sword of Heaven" but i rather call it TenKuKen since i'm a weeb.

Voltes will typically use this for its finishing move, where it carves a V into the target's chest with two slashes. Remember its from Japan, Lazer sword is just the local phrase used for Filipino dub in Philippines , this game doesnt acknowledge any wording or phrases used in Filipino dubbed.

Nah. Kamiya-San's voice got destroyed when he played Kenshiro in Fist of the North Star. His asking price constitutes an arm and a leg nowadays! XD

I think SRW Alpha 3 did better since it showcased Voltes V's complete arsenal.
Voltes V is just a DLC in SRW 30 though. It'd do better in a game where it's part of the main storyline.

The actual translation is Heaven Sword. The localizers probably wanted to avoid religious connotations, which was a serious issue in the 80s.
