Thanks a lot! I really appreciate that you always explain thoroughly and talk slowly. Helps me understand better than in most other tutorials where some small in between knowledge is taken for granted
@@davidbittorf Thanks for the reply , also one more question , when applying custom alpha in zbrush i saw guys rotating, scaling the alpha before applying on the model, how can i do that? When I'm trying it just appearing on top of mesh and can't control it.
That is a great question! For this model I just used ZRemesher in ZBrush to retopo the teeth, tongue and eyes. It wasn't ideal but it got the job done. If did it with quad draw, the tongue would be pretty straight forward. As for the eyes I would simply replace with a lower subdivided sphere. The teeth would be the toughest. I would suggest thinking of a cube, having a quad on each side of the tooth, including a small quad at the tip (rather than several triangles coming to single point).
@@davidbittorf That's awesome! For the eyes and teeth, I was literally thinking of a solution and you came with the right track! You're doing great man, keep it up! Love your videos
Hey David which is your monitor? It's not the usual wide angle, this has more viewport area in maya & zbrush, more work area. Could you share the monitor & model name used in this video?
i did half retopo, then saved and wanted to continue again after an hour, now i come back and everytime im going into quad draw its never going blue again, how do i fix it?
At last I understood the process after 5 years! Thank you.
Your Shrink wrapping analogy was awesome. Helped me brain connect dots when it comes to retopo, thank you
Awesome! Glad to hear that!

Thank you! I appreciate your feedback!
Thank you for this! This helped me a lot! Great lesson and very clear. :)
Thank you!🙏
Sweet video. Straight forward.
Lot of Thanks David ❤
You are welcome! Glad I could help!
☺️❤️
Thanks for this tutorial.
Also one doubt , can we continue sculpting after Re-mesh UV ing and Shrink-wrapping?
Yes! Absolutely, in fact that is what I encourage. Once you Remesh you have nothing to worry about

Make sure that your brush is set to “drag rect”
@@davidbittorf Yes now it working thanks again.
That's great :))
Thank you!🙏
Great video David! But something concerns me... What about the teeth, tongue and eyes? How do we retopo them and group them to look nice and done?

This was recorded on a Cintiq 21ux. It’s a 15 year old Cintiq that they don’t sell anymore. All the newer cintiqs are 16:9 aspect ratios.

Make sure to select your original object in Object Mode, make sure the Magnet is on, then reselect "Quad Draw" and it should be ready to continue.
So you mad an ultra high poly model, made the retopolygy and then make the copy ultra high poly again? wow...
Not sure what you mean about the copy of the ultra high poly. Hmmm..
@@davidbittorfCould be 2 things I guess
Maybe he's saying that you could lower the polys further or maybe he's talking about the baking magic
ok I got this. Thank you!
