In my early 20's I lived in London for a year and my Mum used to send me pineapple lumps :) Such a treat to receive in the mail. I spotted those Jelly Tip ice creams, they were a fav! I did get some (not Tip Top) from Aldi a while back and enjoyed them. Love to see NZ supermarkets have a lot more variety now including more specialist foods. A little homesick, it's been 10 years since I've been home.
I am originally from Hillcrest in Hamilton..been here in Oz for 41 years now..Australia is great for working, however, the food is the best in NZ..probably cause everything feeds off the volcanic ground!..veggies and fruit taste so different..and the meat and fish..can't beat it..everytime I go home I really notice it!!.
Do they still make chocolate fish and Choo Choo bars?!..regards

It was nice to walk around the store with you in New Zealand. The meat seems affordable and such large portions. So much meat. It’s a nice size grocery store and not too busy.

Love supermarkets, one of my favourite things to do overseas( yes sad🥸) - I know and like the Botany store (where you were)
But New World is the most expensive in NZ - also notice the gaps on the selves - Supply chain issues at the bottom of th world - Kia Kaha

I was in hospital in June for 2 1/2 weeks and craved fresh fruit and cherry tomatoes and sliced cucumber. Chopped fresh fruit a great idea.
Hi Debbie, I hope all OK! Yes the fresh fruit is expensive but it's nice as you get one grape and few bits of pineapple etc..
@@zestygirl thank you - start of a long new journey and new "normal" was diagnosed at age 45 with heart failure, AF and heart only operating at 20% where most operate 60-70%. I hope your mum is settling well into her new home.

Pretty much prices in New Zealand are about the same in States. Walmart cheapest then Super Markets of course. We're paying for 1.44 pounds of ground beef about $7.00 usd. Thanks Zesty Girl!

New worlds probably the most expensive place you can shop at try pak n save or countdown pak n saves the cheapest
And the Butcher shops are cheaper for meats kind of have to look around
