Honestly if a lot of yall are into out of print video style dvds. You guys need to come to the San Francisco Bay Area we have so many video stores especially a popular chain called Rasputin that have OOP dvds blu rays and vhs. The stores are big we have 3 locations so you’ll spend a good 2 hours going through everything depending what you’re looking for
I live a couple blocks from a pawn shop. Usually they sell DVDs for 50 cents Blu-ray for 3 bucks but I've been going there a few years and become friendly with the staff so I get unbelievable deals on big bundles when I find good stuff and I have found some out of print stuff such as Clown House and Dawn of the Dead theatrical cut for pennies. Long live physical media! Great video and channel Brother!
I live in an area of New Hampshire that treats movie culture like it's the plague. There are no independent movie theaters left, no video stores, and the goodwill that was closest to me went out of business. Looking for independent horror movies in the wild is nearly impossible. The walmart store I work at the movie aisles have been greatly reduced for no reason and the space we do have is always empty. That one you showed me 'Haunt' by IFC Midnight, I found that used for $4 at Savers. Savers is a slightly more glorified Goodwill. I'm glad I have Haunt now I know it's rare and valuable.
No one talks about When Evil Lurks enough! It has become my second favourite horror after Hereditary! Also liked Midnight With The Devil and The Coffee Table.
Cool pickups! The Pumpkinhead movies are really good! The others I own from probably buying them at Family Video but haven't watched them. Your excitement has peaked my interest in checking them out!
Love these videos. Haunt is such a good film. I love it. I found my copy on dvd years ago at Ollie’s for $1.95 and I also found another ifc movie the same day called Haunter with Abigail Breslin that I think is equally as good as Haunt. If you can find it I would recommend picking it up
Great video as always Christian! I remember when I first Saw Pumpkinhead 4, it was in Movie Gallery for rent and I had to see it. When Movie Gallery went out of business I saw that very same DVD and I had to get it, it is still one of my favorite movies in my collection, not for the content but for the fact it was a memory to me.
These are my favorite videos you’ve been posting lately. Got me on a kick to find horror DVDs too, and I’ve got my wife wanting to get some also. I’m trying to get the Dimension extreme and Fangoria fright fest lines. But my wife wants to get a movie titled Forget Me Not. We seen it in the previews for Scar 3D and it looked insane lol
In the early 2000s when a lot of our local video stores were going under I was lucky enough to purchase the entire horror section of VHS tapes from one of the stores. I got about 1,200 VHS tapes for $350. It was a dream come true.
One of my favorite out of print titles, Shadow of the Vampire. I have a video store DVD copy. I don't think it ever came out on Blu Ray. That is a crime by the way. John Malkovich, Willem Dafoe and Udo Kier.... what a cast, great film.
those dark harvest sequels are just named dark harvest and the original movie names like the maize and skarecrow (original spelling). Back then when the producers knew their movie would fail it would become a sequel to a lesson known movie. they were all made in the same year btw.
Ive never seen these cases but i haven't seen a video renting place in like 15 yrs or so. Everywhere i see actually selling movies is way over priced or same mainstream movies all time. Best place i find movies is goodwill honestly or buy a bulk offline but its usually movies everyone has in a bulk i get 1 or 2 i don't see everywhere
Nice selection man. Laid to Rest is one of my favourites, it's gory as F! Got the uncut German blu ray release, fan of the sequel as well, fingers crossed we will get the third entry one day. Monster Man, I wasn't a fan of it to be honest I do need to give it another go, if you are a fan it has been released on blu ray here in the UK on the 101 label ,
I have ROTLD 4 and 5 on one of the Lionsgate 8 movie packs. I was wondering if they had stand alone releases. Weren't those 2 movies part of the relaunch/rebrand of sci-fi channel to Syfy?
Also look for Children of the Living Dead, that's the one where Tom Savini has a full acting role through most of the movie. Despite the cheesy cover art, the movie gets better as you watch it.
You’re going to love Afflicted for obvious reasons when you watch it. If you haven’t seen it take a look at The Borderlands (aka Final Prayer) from 2013, it’s a found footage movie and it ruined me when I first watched it.
Love the dvd hauls! Just picked up pumpkin head ashes to ashes/candyman double pack at the flea market for $3! Usually can find good scores out in the wild on dvd . Went to a tag sale a year ago and found the mother load, $1 a piece out of print DVDs.
I know you just mentioned it in this video but “evil Ed” is awesome!!! I remember seeing it on the video shelf as a kid and being terrified of the pictures on the back, now I actually own that same vhs I used to rent, there was mutable covers but the one I got has Ed’s head being split with an axe
Hell yeah! Monster Man is a heck of a good time! It's sort of like The Hitcher meets The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. It's not great, but it's a lot of fun, with some wild Star Wars references. Someone did a bluray a few years back (I think it might have been RoninFlix) but I still have that same old LGF DVD you just picked up.
The Dark Harvest trilogy goes from low budget fun (1) to amateurish WTF am I watching and why am I continuing to watch it (2) to and i quote Jay from Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back, "looks like this set em back a couples bucks" (3). Fun little fact part 2 has its own sequel called The Maize 2: Forever Yours.
I got both of those Pumpkinheads on DVD years ago for a few bucks each. Glad i snagged them when i did. Also to answer your question. Yes both premiered on the SciFi channel. I remember watching them when they came out.
Interesting finds, man! Looking at the cover for "Last Girl Standing". It's basically the same Template for the DVD cover of Tom Savini's 1990 Night of the Living Dead!
i remember seeing those dark harvest 1 and 2 dvds at my local video store when i was a kid before they closed, i remembered the covers, but didnt remember the names. there are so many movies like that that i need to look into🤣
MPI owns Dark Sky, the ones who put out The Texas Chain Saw Massacre 4k in the US. I've got a handful of titles from them. You probably have more, too.
This takes me back to the early to mid-2000s, when I used to spend half an hour or more browsing the shelves at Blockbuster. The Pumpkinhead sequels intrigued me, especially because Henriksen and Bradley were listed on the cover. However, I never got around to renting those for some reason, and would later forget they ever existed. However, I did rent many of the After Dark films (most of them had awesome covers), and Dimension Extreme titles. Most of them are forgotten today but I still have an urge to rewatch many of them out of nostalgia. I watched The Return of the Living Dead sequels when they premiered on Sy Fy and am curious to check those out again since my friend and I had a good time laughing at the poor effects and acting.
I thought you were going to mention 'Clownhouse' from 1989 after describing 'legendary out of print movie titles.' I've known about Clownhouse for a long time because the director was sent to prison. I wasn't so lucky with Clownhouse, I bought the official MGM DVD off Amazon 10 years ago for $30.
Your lucky have a place near you like this, especially if there actually affordable bro. You can find all kinds stuff, do they not put stickers all over them? Most ola6dod, even red box had there stuckers around the ring etc. But yea bro if affordable grab all u possibly can get, physical medisa dying fast. I love all physical media
Holy shit someone else knows about dark harvest I F**king loved the first one it’s so bad it’s good the second is the absolute worst movie I’ve seen 😂 and the third one is dumb fun awesome video dude
The first Pumpkinhead movie is legendary, the sequels are awful. The Dark Harvest movies weren't much better. But, I saw them when they were first released, and it's been a long time.
I recently threw my copies of Pumpkinhead 3 & 4 in the garbage. I hadn't watched them since they were released. I liked them more then Pumpkinhead 2 but they aged poorly with terrible CGI.
Haha Monster man is allright! Pretty good gore but the characters are awful. I think you'll like it however, just keep your expectations low. 101 has a great release of it!
I bought Monster Man on a blind buy from just seeing the cover. It wasn’t for me, although I know people do like it so I may be in the minority. I was just expecting something different than what it is.
im still here too save you i know you are one of those big bang theory guys but I will help you from this. you like a kid at christmas 😪 and I can really help you please let me before you are lost in this kids stuff even more 😪😪
Dark Harvest is one of the WORST/BEST HORROR MOVIES OF ALL TIME-Great filmmaking-NO-great acting-NO-great gore effects-NO but does it have one of the GREATEST GRATUITOUS NUDITY SCENES IN HORROR MOVIE HISTORY-in the words of 'ol Stone Cold "OH HELL YEAH!" That scene is worth buying the dvd alone! I've had it since it first came out and probably only watched the entire movie ONE time but I've watched that scene a MILLION! Trust me, if you've seen the movie you know what I'm talking about! 😯🎥😯🎥😯🎥😯🎥😯🎥😯🎥😯🎥😯
I think you influenced the last 10 sales on eBay for Haunt this week 😂
Now I need to get it

I have every one of these DVDs! Can't say I've watched them all, my need-to-watch pile has become most of my basement!

Long live physical media! Great video and channel Brother!
Amazing pick-ups! Monster Man is quite a fun one, own it also on DVD, haven't watched it for quite a while. Probably time for a rewatch here, too.
Monster Man is great. At one point there were sequels planned and director Jeff Burr was attached before financing fell through.

Monster man is something else...😅

Monster Man is a must watch lol. I’ve seen it so much I wish they’d put out a non region B blu ray.
Love these videos. Haunt is such a good film. I love it. I found my copy on dvd years ago at Ollie’s for $1.95 and I also found another ifc movie the same day called Haunter with Abigail Breslin that I think is equally as good as Haunt. If you can find it I would recommend picking it up
I remember being sold on the monster man cover!
Just saw the cover and that was it just sat down and watched it!
I was kinda good!
Great video as always Christian! I remember when I first Saw Pumpkinhead 4, it was in Movie Gallery for rent and I had to see it. You sold me 😊 I never liked pumpkin head as a kid, but today they really do stand the test of time.
Just found your channel browsing for horror films as they are my fav and i like what you do so i'll deffo give you a sub.
Thank you!!

This is a cool video man! Very good picks and overall interesting.
I own a copy of Hatchetman it's definitely a top notch B Rated Horror Movie but it's not super bad
some great pick ups mate you really lucked out with those : )
My local Zia has Haunt and I've been thinking about getting it...
I JUST picked up Haunt at an antique shop. I'm also very excited to see what this is all about!
In the early 2000s when a lot of our local video stores were going under I was lucky enough to purchase the entire horror section of VHS tapes from one of the stores. I got about 1,200 VHS tapes for $350. It was a dream come true.
Monster man is fantastic
One of my favorite out of print titles, Shadow of the Vampire. I have a video store DVD copy. I don't think it ever came out on Blu Ray. That is a crime by the way. John Malkovich, Willem Dafoe and Udo Kier.... what a cast, great film.
Monster man is going to blow you away
Nice pick ups! I have Pumpkinhead 3 and 4 but it’s a combo DVD set.
those dark harvest sequels are just named dark harvest and the original movie names like the maize and skarecrow (original spelling). Back then when the producers knew their movie would fail it would become a sequel to a lesson known movie. they were all made in the same year btw.

Pumpkinhead 3&4 are some of my favorite looking dvds, totally gritty 2000s vibes.
So killer dude; I want to go to that store!
Thank you for your sacrifice Christian, the blu ray announcements for Pumpkinhead 3 and 4 should come shortly
Afflicted is so great
Nice selection man. Laid to Rest is one of my favourites, it's gory as F! Got the uncut German blu ray release, fan of the sequel as well, fingers crossed we will get the third entry one day.
Monster Man, I wasn't a fan of it to be honest I do need to give it another go, if you are a fan it has been released on blu ray here in the UK on the 101 label ,
Unfortunately, we won't get a third Chromeskull film as director Robert Hall passed away several years ago.
@@jake_ytmills1057 I didn't know that, that's a real shame RIP Robert.
I have ROTLD 4 and 5 on one of the Lionsgate 8 movie packs. I was wondering if they had stand alone releases. Weren't those 2 movies part of the relaunch/rebrand of sci-fi channel to Syfy?
Yes they have stand alone releases. My buddy owns them
@@brianchapman1980 Thanks! I'll have to be on the lookout for them.
Yes PLEASE look up the two IN DEPTH videos I did on those two ROTLD sequels
Also look for Children of the Living Dead, that's the one where Tom Savini has a full acting role through most of the movie. Despite the cheesy cover art, the movie gets better as you watch it.

Final girls pairs well with last girl standing
If anyone gets chance

Love the dvd hauls! Just picked up pumpkin head ashes to ashes/candyman double pack at the flea market for $3! Usually can find good scores out in the wild on dvd . Went to a tag sale a year ago and found the mother load, $1 a piece out of print DVDs.
I used to own Monster Man I wish I still had it.
I have recently seen Monster Man it is raunchy and hilarious 😅😅😅 it is on Prime Video
I know you just mentioned it in this video but “evil Ed” is awesome!!! I remember seeing it on the video shelf as a kid and being terrified of the pictures on the back, now I actually own that same vhs I used to rent, there was mutable covers but the one I got has Ed’s head being split with an axe
Monster Man was released by 101 films in the UK on Blu Ray a while ago. Currently on sale for £5.99 at HMV

I love monster man it's so cheesy but i love it
I have Haunt Australian release DVD with reversible cover
I got both of those Pumpkinheads on DVD years ago for a few bucks each. Glad i snagged them when i did. Also to answer your question. Yes both premiered on the SciFi channel. I remember watching them when they came out.
I recently threw both of mine in the garbage. Just kept the first one. They have not aged well
Interesting finds, man! Looking at the cover for "Last Girl Standing". It's basically the same Template for the DVD cover of Tom Savini's 1990 Night of the Living Dead!
I have pumpkinhead 4
Monster Man rulz!!!!! With a "z"
Monster Man was a fun watch. It seems to draw from a lot of things (Horror) and does it well.
i remember seeing those dark harvest 1 and 2 dvds at my local video store when i was a kid before they closed, i remembered the covers, but didnt remember the names. there are so many movies like that that i need to look into🤣
I shockingly have the masters of horror blurays.
Watch a movie called "skinned deep" warrick Davis plays a killer that throws plates, what more could you want
dig the new teaser intro dude
MPI owns Dark Sky, the ones who put out The Texas Chain Saw Massacre 4k in the US. I've got a handful of titles from them. You probably have more, too.

Monster Man is the shit. 101 Films has a decent blu ray. You’re in for a good time.
Haunt is a good movie, I got this when it first came out.
Monster Man is a pretty good flick!
I haven't seen Monster Man in years. I need to look this movie up again. And I have both those Pumpkinhead movies I wasn't able to fine a blu ray.
Be warned, Dark harvest 1 is fun but part 2 is a sequel in name only and it isn't pretty
Pumpkinhead sequels I don't remember anything of
I have those Pumpkin Head movies, it’s a dvd double feature 😊

Monster Man had great gore, but the humor was terrible.

Most annoying to find was pumpkin head 2 and it was awful 🙄🙄🙄
Honestly, a hard pass on every single title. You talked about. I truly am a mainstream film guy, and uh, this stuff, I have absolutely no interest in.
I got no issue with that pal. Thanks for watching!
