I can see you have a lot of spare slots, would be good if you can show how to obtain fuse panel terminals, crimp wires and use the empty slots so the dashcam is on its own fuse as if it is OEM factory.
You don't necessarily, it just depends on how many slots are being used in your vehicle and how many are free. I had quite a few free because I have a low spec model of my van, but top spec vans might have all the fuse slots full, so you'd have no choice but to remove a fuse. I was just trying to give as broad a picture of how to do it as possible :)

Why do you have to take a fuse out and then use an empty slot?
