Thanks for your excellent and professional presentation. For years the video quality of the vast majority of dashcams' is unnecessarily poor in the extreme especially recognising vehicle number plates. The issue is due to the outdated and poor quality sensors used. The Viofo A229 Pro, however, has been out for ages. Not only excellent 4K quality but is also able to selectively improve resolution on number plates. It uses the critically important STARVIS 2 sensor, there is no subscription issue and is very reasonably priced at £299.95. I'd really appreciate your reviewing this product. The only downside, as with most products these days, is that it's made in China - oh well!! Thanks again!!
3:35 The suction mount looks great. But it doesn't seem to be Nextbase original accessory. Does anyone know where to get one of these? Thanks dear community ❤.
thanks would really have liked to see some more night footage, any cheap dash cam can work in bright sunlight. trying to read number plates at night on oncoming cars, now thats a different story and pretty much all of them fail at this.
Filming at night is notoriously difficult for cameras. I haven't had any problem with either of these at night as usually you would have headlights providing quite a bit of light to illuminate number plates etc. I'll have to put another video out of night footage at some point!
@@LensOfJames hey I spoke with nextbase and they say speak to the car manufacturer or fix ferrite magnets to reduce the electrical interference noise. Not very helpful. I gather that certain wires ie the top two in the rear glass are not heating but DAB Ariel then you have boosters behind the panelling or in the pillars, so running the rear cable passed it causes interference. Booked to see the Halfords installer I recon he might know
Hi, I have a question. Does the camera have wifi connectivity and RTMP protocol for online stream IRL from the road in the car for twitch and youtube? Thank you.
@@LensOfJames Thank you for your reply. I have been looking for an IRL dash cam for a few years now. I'm still waiting for a manufacturer to produce one. :(
Yes this is in "witness mode" and is activted by voice command. You can set up two users to receive the stream. It is designed as a safety feature @matuscicel

I would buy the IQ one . Nextbase should have had a bundle for the rear camera included .
Not a fan of the rear iq has to be wires showing .
They look and sound good, but the prices are too much.
Fair enough, they're definitely at the higher end of the spectrum
Wait till they go on sale, got 50%
off on a 622GW Bundle during
the holiday season!

I had 522 with rear camera and it killed my DAB signal. Does the 622 with rear camera so the same? ... ( I did use plenty of ferrit coils)
That's a shame that happened, I don't have DAB radio in my van, so best to reach out to Nextbase and ask them

i had IQ 4K at home ..waiting for a new car ... :D
Thx. I think 622 have a beter look than iQ.
They've definitely gone outside of the box for the Nextbase iQ design!
@@LensOfJamesyes but i like the old design more than new one bcuz on the new one is no display. Thx for your time to compare this two. 🫡
Fair point, glad the video's been useful!

Hi, no neither dash cam had those features. For the iQ, you can see the live view in their app only
