I am sure that there are many real and unreal things that exist that science cannot explain. To the point of Zen, these things are only distractions that can consume an individual if they let them. They have no influence, and should not, in our lives. Great video!
Met this guy a couple of times whilst lucid dreaming. Scary at first. Second time it felt really good merging with it. Best guess was it was a Jungian Shadow. The part of your psyche you keep locked up in the basement. His idea was you needed to integrate with it to be made whole. The nice feeling only lasted a few days. Not seen him since. Stopped lucid dreaming as ruined my sleep quality for a while.
My hunch is, Carl Gustav Jung would have called this an “arche-type“, which also would be part of the transindividual (sub-)conciousness. I'm just reading the Jung-biography by Gerhard Wehr and am amazed about - in the synopsis - quite some remarkable aspects of the life and work of this “crazy old Doctor Jung“, as he would somerimes self-ironically call himself in his older years.
This is kinds tough for me. Like I've said before I have schizoaffective disorder. I wish I didn't, but in Zen, we face reality, it's something I can't control. Sometimes I feel like the attitude towards that in Buddhism especially Zen is "well you got bad karma, you can't possibly handle Zen. There's no point, it's hopeless for you." But im alright because I don't attach to that. I maybe incapable of enlightenment (whatever that means). But im not attached to these things. I'm not really even attached to the idea of being a "good" Buddhist.. I just am. I just want to be. Sry lost my train of thought. 🙏
@@zenconfidential25I had a really real feeling experience of seeing a 4 headed being made of golden light telling me very profound things and I wasn’t educated on Hinduism but I knew about Roman mythology and I associated the entity with Janus because of the multiple faces but I later watched some videos on Hinduism and I saw a statue of Brahma and it gave me goosebumps man. That is exactly what I saw and I know that the mind can transcend space and time because of that. But at the same time I feel like this has drained my mental energy focusing on it and trying to figure it out so I really like this concept of letting it go. Thank you 🙏
You once gave me some advice on your live Q&A. I had asked a question about this kind of experience during zazen, your advice was very helpful. You said "Come back to your body, bring your attention back to the body". Who needs dr8gs when you've got a cushion?
beautiful idea and expressing I started meditating 2 weeks ago and just today I got my first mind altering meditation more specifically a vision altering one , what happened is very similar to what you explained ( the third eye feeling ) after the meditation my vision was weird like an lsd trippy vision with weird colours so I searched youtube and found your video what do you think ? can I get a " deeper or more " hallucination from meditating because I really want to
I think that a meditation cushion is not the greatest place to chase hallucinations. Just focus on your breath, or just sit, gently returning your attention to your breath. More amazing things will happen than a hallucination!
I’ve had this forehead experience many times. Interesting stuff. Is it fair to say that makyo, in the context of samadhi, is comparable to nimitta? Would love your thoughts on this.
@@zenconfidential25I thought so! Nimitta are also taught as being no big deal, except for maybe in Vajrayana (idk much about that tradition). Let them pass.
I hear this word attachment used in Buddhist circles. I don’t really know what the word refers to. Do you have synonyms or examples as to what this word means
Getting stuck on something, not being able to move on from a hope or a dream or a prejudice or a problem or an idea. Something that can be traced back to one of the three poisons, usually: greed, anger, delusion. Ultimately it refers to attachment to one's self, which my mentor used to tell me is the only "sin" in Zen Buddhism.
Hey! Dogs barking during a video is MY THING! You'll be hearing from my lawyers.
Sadly I think those were PEOPLE barking in my video!!
Always interesting 😊

Yes! The mind rejecting the stillness! Makes perfect sense. I've had quite a few of these experiences.
Love the fx on this! 😂
Yes! Thank you!
It is amazing what you can see by looking at nothing.. So much that it is distracting.

Wow, that's amazing. Haven't lucid dreamed in many years. Wait a minute...maybe I'm DOING IT RIGHT NOW!!

Just sit. Thanks, always appreciate your wisdom! On Day 6 of a Goenka retreat, something arose in me - wow....incinerating!
Wonderful! Keep on keeping on my friend and enjoy the rest of your retreat!

Trippy, oh and the dmt elves say to give a shout out to durga if you bump into her again.🙃
I haven’t practiced meditation too much but I find your words to be helpful when considering my own dmt trips.
I'm glad! Thank you.

Amen my friend. I remember you and your question, thank you.
Doing a zen practice 😅 like going to the gym? Or doing nothing and just be, your already there.
Some people got trapped by macchio and live through that illusion? Not only in zen meditation

I think that equation is probably right, but ultimately it's a red herring. A distraction.

Less than 2 minutes and boy am I glad I took my meds.😂
