I remember well the trip from my home in Kluang to Slim School Cameron Highlands. By rail to Kuala Lumpur - having a meal from the galley on the railway carriages (this was 1963) this was my introduction to Malay cooking (I am salivating at the thought of it). We would stop overnight in KL and continue the following morning to Tapa Road Station (and time for another Nasi Goreng on the way) From there we would take a local bus company coach up a very narrow and winding old road through Tanah Rahta (spelling?) and on to the school. Slim School closed about a year later - I consider myself very fortunate to have attended this wonderful little school in such a beautiful, wild area. We would frequently walk or run to the Padang at Tanah Rahta along a lovely jungle path and then into the town - then only just about the size of a village - we loved it. The local people were overwhelmingly friendly and protective of us. I can remember, often crossing paths with Aboriginal peoples making their way through the jungle, often they would sit and talk (we could not understand a single word but their smiles told us we had nothing to fear from these wonderful people - including the ones who had heads attached around their waist! They always had some fruit and/or meat they would insist on sharing with us. I did once, meet one who spoke some English as he had fought alongside the British Army at some time in his, no doubt fascinating past) We would sometimes continue on the path down through the Boh tea estates and then back. Marvellous adventure for a young British child. There is little of this film I recognize but I enjoyed it nevertheless - many thanks.
You don't know how much I loveee Cameron Highlands! I'm a Malaysian (from Kelantan) but oh I want to live there so bad just for the cool temperature! It's always hot anywhere else in Malaysia like 27°C+ but in Cameron it gets around 15°C it's just such a perfect weather 😭❤️ when I was visiting Cameron I just discovered that my mood depends a lot on the temperature, I felt much better and blessed 😌✨ after the pandemic I'd definitely ask my mum to visit again hehe 😗✌🏻
Britain should feel very honored that the beautiful place in Malaysia is named after one of its citizens. It is such a beautiful place and we are so happy that we got to learn about this place thanks to you
I am 3 years late! Hardly time for vacay....but thanks to your vid and guide. Your vid is so professionally made. Awesome delivery. Content is not overbearing. Just nice. Infirmarion well-placed. Big thumbs-up.

Thanks guys!! I really love using the Google Earth function, it really helps with presenting the info clearly and visually appealing too! You should try it out!
Without any information Oct 2018. I went to TBS and booked a bus ticket for the next day to Cameron highland. I enjoyed the bus travel and the place well
have been there while on vacation in malaysia, was travelling to KL by road and suddenly saw the cameron highland exit is at 2 km, within seconds decided to go to cameron and it was the best decision of that year :D
Greg, have u n Jumi been here. It's a wonderful place, not only for local but also foreign tourists. Genting Highlands, Fraser's Hills r also wonderful places to visit.
@@FoodandFootprints Yes, definitely. U should stay at one of d English cottages. D Boh tea plantation is a wonderful sight. I've been there few times as a kid n teen, many times as an adult.
Thanks! Glad to hear that! I think this place is great for a short trip, too long I might get bored here :P Unless I'm staying here to help with the farming, but I won't last long either haha!
These two make excellent videos, including this one! I’m confused and a little pissed that 64 people felt the need to give this video thumbs down!? Are they intolerant of Puri’s accent? His English is fine!
Thanks for sharing.. Hope you guys had a good weekend.. Watching and Supporting with Full View Like 37.. Hope you and your family are safe from the virus..
To animal lovers/rescuers here. I'm writing here to raise awareness that there are too many stray dogs and puppies along The Tapah road up to Cameron highland nowadays. Just today I avoided 2 puppies and God knows how many more got killed on the very narrow road. If you are capable, please help them, which at the same time can increase road safety.
Thanks guys! 😄 Most footages are the same, but we try to put in info for those who are interested in going to Cameron Highlands in this video, hopefully it's helpful for these guys!
Love that weather 😍😍😍 today its 46 Fahrenheit (7.7 celsius) here but it says it felt like 40 (4.5 celsius), and we were so happy to feel the cold freeze in our faces!! ( i know we are crazy)
shoutout from Cheras KL, awesome vlog, YES its great staycation from KL humidity roadtrip to Cameron Highland best visit to explore on weekdays void peak festive holidays during Chinese New Year our family took 3 years ago 🤣
Hi K T 😄 Thanks for your comment. Yea, the peak period crowd is massive. We went on a weekday during the December school holidays and was already a little crowded 😦
Wow, the scenery is beautiful, you guys did an awesome job of capturing it. I'd be all over the farmers market, ours is never this fun not is it this big. The Lavender garden looks interesting and very pretty. I love that you can feed the sheep, they are so sweet and adorable. Thank you for sharing your experience. Will add this to our list of places to visit. 👍LIKE #38
Oh it looks so wonderful, and you had me at 'tea plantations'! I hope we get to visit Malaysia some day and would love to check this area out. Also love the look of the moss forest! Thank you for a lovely guide.
We're surprised that this place isn't very well known outside of Malaysia but it's definitely worth a visit. I'm sure you guys will make it to Malaysia some day and have a wonderful time 😍 Thanks for watching!
beautifully made guide on Cameron Highlands 👍 I have been to KL but not here yet, would love to visit here in the future, great footage and informative narrative, thanks for sharing your journey
Wonderful guide and excellent video. Another beautiful place to visit in Malaysia. Those sheep were cute . Loved the tea and scones. The hiking in the forest would be awesome too. So many things to do. Thank you for taking us along.
Love how you guys put this guide together. I would agree that the tea plantation is the highlight. It would be a must see for us too. And the morning and night market. Like we mentioned, this sounds like the perfect place to recharge. Those tours sound very convenient too. We've been doing more of those lately. On man, those chalets look so cute. Would like to stay in one of those. I would definitively rent a Jeep when I visit. Hahaha Great video and editing guys.
Knowing Cameron highlands very well for 4 years or so, think it’s a shame that the roads are not compatible for the huge amounts of traffic going up to Cameron highlands. The amount of over building in only 4 years is very alarming in Tana Rata and Brinchang. I have noted now coming up form Simpang Pulai road up to Cameron highlands. There’s a huge cut out of jungle , plastic metropolis of greenhouses and they just keep digging and digging. What can you do to protect the environment in Cameron highlands’c These need to be addressed. Otherwise Cameron highlands is just going to be from its amazing looks from years gone bye. As today a dire mess!.
Cameron highlands reminds me of Vietnam Sapa...if you ever go to vIetnam and like highlands..Sapa a place to go! Great tips and advice how to get to the highlands..I like the winding roads!! Lol
I would LOVE to visit Sapa, but we didn't have enought time, it was 4 days 3 nights in Hanoi, and we had to choose between Sapa or Halong Bay, we chose the latter, we'll be back for Sapa for sure the next round! You like Winding roads eh, Sue has motion sickness, so we had to take the straight road :P
