Really, really well done. This is proper coverage, relevant interviews and a nice professional production. Kudos David, you're genuinely providing great information and value to those of us who follow indycar.
If Hailie Deagan is serious about an Indy NXT/IndyCar career, she better hit the gym and start pumping iron now. Jamie Chadwick is probably the best junior female driver and it took her a year of work to get to terms with a high downforce (compared to stock cars) formula car with no power steering.
She'd still be better off going back to ARCA or Trucks to get her feet back under her.
Going to the trucks was her biggest mistake
@@philbuell6657 I'd say Xfinity was her biggest mistake. She had some good results while Xfinity was a complete failure.
She's better off going back to dirt or off-road racing. She's not good enough for Nascar, and I definitely don't see her succeeding in Indy car.
Ur not that wrong here
Formula drift.
Whenever I see a driver wanting to come to Indy car, I think the moment of truth, turn 1 Indianapolis 240 mph do they have what it takes...
"They'?
I'm going to be real here, I would almost certainly poop myself and then hit the wall.

The Indycar drivers have so much personality in interviews
Gotta keep up with F1, making their drivers do viral dances and shit
More 👀 on NXT on FOX next year wouldn’t hurt.
They might even get sponsors on cars.
Love David lands takes
Thanks NASCAR for doing a half repave instead of a full repave.
it's Texas all over again, frustrating.
I think they wanted to do full repave but due weather and stuff and running out time they just half assed the pavement
When NASCAR officials checked the track and found damage they did not have time to do a full repave. They will get it done by next year.
That’s NASCAR in the 21st century; everything is done halfway except for the checks to the France family. They are far too large and no longer good value for the money.
@@thejman3489they have time now thats it's summer.
I love how invested drivers like Alex and Marcus are in improving the racing product. They want Indycar as a whole to succeed
Not sure a driver who appears to have not yet developed her capacity for setting up a car in NASCAR should head to Indycar where car set up is much more adjustable and where understanding aero is critical. However, if she is prepared to put in the work outside of her car to build the neck and shoulder muscles, generally up her fitness levels and she signs with a team that has a very experienced chief engineer who is willing to invest time into coaching her she could significantly develop her racecraft.
A season in Indycar would teach her about how to set up a racecar, agive her exposure outside of NASCAR circles and require her to massively improve her fitness.
Ultimately, it is a huge ask to go from saloon car racing to Indycar, if she is able to do it she will demonstrate grit and determination that would hold her in good stead for racing in the future as she will cop a lot of scrutiny, will need to fundamentally learn a new driving style, massively improve her fitness and learn about a totally type of tyre management to anything she has ever experienced.
Driving Indycar would be make or break, if she delivers she will get the doubters off her back, but if she fails that will probably kill her hopes for ever being taken seriously in NASCAR.
Awww, the ton tops will always take her back for enough cash, and they aren’t as tough to drive.
The Hailie Deegan saga continues...
Very easy solution. Take the 2 seater cars, slap the same tire compounds on however many 2 seaters are there, and drive them nonstop during down times on the high line
Or get some old Indycar’s and drive them on the high line @ a safe speed during any free track time
One: very expensive to do and two it won’t smooth the transition out.
If Deegan is in indycar can i say shes a possible double bust? She is in nascar will she be in indycar? Maybe then id say most overhyped and overrated since you know who?
You hate women eh
GREAT VIDEO, DAVID. I love listening to drivers talk about the driving and speed. Love seeing that excitement on their faces. You barely see that anymore with these cars. Have fun out there!
She has no business in Indy cars either.....none !!!
@davidvanbrunt4233, she can race in any series she wants. Indy cars are easier to race the nascar.
@@jasonjgr8580 refer to previous post....
@@jasonjgr8580 doesn't mean she has the talent.....
Paul Tracy would agree with you 😂😂
You obviously haven't watched any of her races before she moved to NASCAR, huh? Short track racing is way more disciplined than NASCAR ever will be, they only get one set of tires and a tank of fuel for each race, that and they have to take car of the car because they don't have thousands of dollars to fix their cars each week or have a backup car if they wreck.
Love Ferrucci's comments.
This is going to be a crash fest with this track
Deegan is best at dirt racing, though I'm curious on how she'll do in Indycar
Danica Patrick did waaaay better in Indy than NASCAR sooo who knows?
And Danica was a mere slip of a girl driving the high downforce Indycars with no power steering. Massive respect.
There is not enough spare parts available for Hailie Deegan in any top racing series.
Is she following Danica's footsteps, but backwards?
It's interesting how all the drivers seem to have different perspectives on the car. Usually they're all pretty similar on their perspectives, but here they were all over the place
Wish her the best... let her come up in Indy NXT first... Jamie Chadwick took a min to get a win but she did it !
Ah yes, a driver who was fired mid-season after being dead last in the point standings with 50 crashes in 3.5 seasons, is "good enough" to move to Indycar... She can't even drive in a straight line in stock cars, what makes you think Danica 2.0 is anywhere near calibre of an Indycar ride? SHE SUCKS! She'll just wreck everything she sees in sight!
Well they just lost Lindsay Brewer maybe Huncos can just put Hailie in her ride
Juncos needs money , could it be cheaper than a Xfinity seat?
@@mpmonzonQuite a bit cheaper.
Yeah they don’t have to pay the France family off
Juncos is expensive and also not very good
@@aidan404 perfect fit for hallie then.
Why is everyone spinning out?… Repave sure. But don’t forget the dw12 has more weight in its ass end than a kardashian.
More than a kardashian? Is that possible?
If her last name wasn't Deegan, would we care?
Also, there's no way Newgarden doesn't land a commentator gig when he's done racing.
If Hailie signs with Andretti in NXT, she’ll be fine. Michael is not going to throw her to the wolves. And he’s not going to embarrass himself like that. She’ll have a lot of brains to pick and she’ll be groomed pretty well.
one of the most medicore drivers to ever be in NASCAR move to indy? GL
I have no clue what she's doing constantly moving series to series. Literally the worst way to learn in motorsports. Especially if she achieved in none of them
Couldn’t be more wrongs the more racing someone does the better.
Sarah Fisher believed she would’ve done better had she run more races
@@Ericb1980That's because the IRL and Indy Lights always had very short schedules where with dirt tracks and adjacent NASCAR series there is a race almost every weekend.
The two types of cars don't lend themselves to similar driving, and drivers like Fernando Alonzo and Kyle Larson are the rarest of talent that is fast in whatever car they drive.
@@Ericb1980 There's like 3 drivers in history that became good at a discipline from constantly bouncing from series to series and zero drivers who did that with zero achievements in any of them.
@@Ericb1980Sarah has talent and sand. I think the other girl is short on both
@@lmao-ev6nzI can think of two; A.J.Foyt and Mario Andretti who’s the third?
She can't be worse than Milka Duno
Hopefully
Ohhhh, I say that it’s too close to call now
Putting Hailie in an Indy car would be like giving her one of Alec Baldwins' prop guns to play with.
Their ratings are terrible, they will welcome her with open arms. She won’t do a thing but bring sponsors.
She gonna do the reverse Danica Patrick
yup she inflated dem tires
I’d pay to see that! 😜
She’s gotta win first
Like stick with indycar her whole career? Hopefully.
But suck just as bad.
Though I have not followed her really at all, I'd like to see Deegan succeed at something. So, why not give it a serious try?
If you have any questions about Hailies talent level you only have to watch one of her RUclips videos where she runs on dirt with her Fiance Chase. Hailie is a great dirt racer... better so then on pavement.... but Chase is a beast and runs circles around her. His personality matches his talent and he can WHEEL! I'd give Chase a Nascar ride way before Hailie because he is just a way better driver period.
Great video as always, thank you.
I heard you on IMS Radio with Michael Young today. Awesome!!!!!
Given that lapping traffic on this short track is a foregone reality.... won't that second lane (w marbles?) be crucial??
the last thing the crashaholic needs is a smaller car and a and a faster car. she can barely drive a lower grade Nascar.
She would be more off pace than Lindsay Brewer
Wrong!
@@miketwotwenty Jaime Chadwick has multiple W series championships and even she took some time to adjust to Indy NXT. It’s not like the old days of Indy Lights where it’s all ovals, she would be slow on road courses.
@@Buc5054 yup Jamie Chadwick is legit but let’s be honest Hallie is more talented than Lindsay!
@@miketwotwenty i have to see anything that proves that lol
@@Buc5054Lindsay brewer, as wonderful as she is, had NO BUSINESS in a car. Hailee can at least wheel and has shown she can be good
I love how you bring out the genuineness in the interviews. It seems like they are very free and excited to speak with you.
Deegan Vs. Chadwick might get some news.
Someone if she wanted could probably have a formula two ride vs someone who has no open Indy/formula experience
@@jeremythomas8954 headlines produce ratings.
Sorry for the tangent, but what's up with Team Rahal? Since the Rahal/Hogan days, they've frequently been on the cusp of competitiveness, but in recent years they've barely been also-rans. I'll give you my theory: too few resources for too many cars. What's your take?
I was under the impression that they had repaved the entire facility .... they should have ... disappointing... par .... as usual
She was too scared to rub fenders in NASCAR & now she gon try open wheel asphalt in IndyCar, doubtful but we'll see how it go's. They're trying so hard to find somewhere to stick this chick & yet Jamie Chadwick who is well deserving of an IndyCar ride is still waiting for her NTT IndyCar debut...
I sort of expected this. Hailie is done in NASCAR. Danica's 7-year sh!t show in Cup has made it difficult for females to get rides. Danica came in with big hype and ran in top-flight cars, but never improved from where she started. Hailie Deegan has been in Xfinity for three years and never improved either.
Danica had more success in Indycar, so why shouldn't Hailie try that?
Will we see battles between Block and Deegan again? Only this time not Ken and Brian in GRC but Lia, who is in F1 Academy right now and Hailie in Indycar? Who knows.
I'm actually surprised that NBC decided to have an IndyCar night race on main NBC this year. They haven't covered anything that isn't football on prime time all year other than the Olympic team trials on Saturday night much less.
So, she’s just going to go to an open wheel, mostly road & street course series? Didn’t work out well for Jimmie Johnson…and he knows how to drive.
Exactly
Unless she has the money to buy her own team, this just wont happen. Im a supporter of hers and this would be a bad idea. She is in no way a "Kyle Larson" calibre of driver. Plus, these things are dangerous.
We all watched Jimmie Johnson make his Indycar attempt. He was a seven time champ. Just what do we think Hailie's attempt would result in?
She wants to try for Michael in the E off road series
She will really be outclassed there.
Partially paving a 200mph track is total joke
Reverse Danica but same results… I’ll just be here for her crystal powers arc
Deegan walking around the pits with a black briefcase.
So she wants to join an even tougher competition…… this should end well.
what's sad is that there is almost no coverage about jamie chadwick. but Hailie Deegan, the girl that got sacked, eyeing indycar?! -THIS IS BIG
That'll probably get fixed next year when Indy NXT will be on TV instead of trapped on Peacock.
@@danielhenderson8316 it isn’t just peacock coverage. I would like these RUclips reporters to cover Indy NXT. Type Jamie Chadwick David Land or _____ (insert RUclips)____, you’ll find no such title. But Hailie Deegan? That’ll definitely get clicks.
In the UK you can't t get away from her with her first win making the mainstream (not just the motorsports) sports pages, while Louis Foster gets next to no coverage.
@@I_Evo simple bias. That’s the problem.
@@herewegoagain7403 Like it or not, NASCAR is still the most popular racing organization in the US and any NASCAR racer is going to get more press than even a top IndyCar driver. It won't change until more eyes are on IndyCar.
Oh this must be like your "dodge returning to nascar" videos that is just a rumor and never going to happen......
She could not do any worse than Johnson, he was bad, how many cars did he crash
If Hailie was not a female nobody at this point would have much to do with her driving Merit
This level of coverage is incredible, asking proper questions, giving your intros and explainations in the Inbetween. F1 would kill to have something like this. Very well done sir.
I hope Hailie finds her place. She seems to run better outside NASCAR. But jumping into Indy will take effort. Especially physically . Ask Larson about the difference
She'll be just as bad as Lindsay Brewer.
Technically she got booted 5 days ago.
It’s good that she’s potentially trying something different, but I don’t know if she’ll do well at IndyCar at all
She needs training or something, lol
David I have to say I find out more watching you than I do looking at Indy cars own app. It sux with little news unless it's big
Or she might be doing some nxt races this year wich is a real possibility. She is under contract with ford development program so I don't know how thoes races in indy nxt would be funded and sponsored.
No seats with the main Andretti team but Andretti Cape has a free car for 3/4 final rounds so maybe
I'm old enough to remember when commenters made comparisons of Deegan to Dale Earnhardt.
How did that prediction work out?
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@sunshinecoolwater9528, well she didn't lose control of her car and get killed. Unlike suckhart
@jasonjgr8580 she's lost control plenty of times. Amazing she did however with how slow she is.
What possible comparisons would there be? Apart from dressing up in a driver suit and holding the steering wheel, the similarities end there.
Who cares but her simps, she was a lost cause anyway. Rubusto in arca west seem like a good driver , compare to deegen. I would like to see her in trucks sooner or later. Wayyyy more talented than deegan.
robusto is another overhyped driver. good at hackory and thats about it.
Catherine Legge has got to be one of the best, if not the best female car racer in the world.
😂😂😂😂😂
😂 y’all can have her man

Great have her speed
Let's not forget what the drivers are going through here. Driving one race at Iowa is quite a physical ordeal, but to do another one just 12 hours later (and in the midday heat!) is a real challenge. I am amazed that they can do such a thing. Really looking forward to it !
When NASCAR officials checked the track they found some damage that had to be fixed. They did not have time to repave the whole track so they just threw some asphalt down and called it good enough for now. By next year we should see a full repave of the track.
Great report. Thanks. We love Indycar in Florida.
She could never do a road course……that would require actual talent
Money talks and skill walks.
Why I don't watch anymore
Just found this channel and I can tell I’m going to like it
That's a joke right?????
SANTINO FERRCUCCI
Now she can go embarrass herself in IndyCar
Next up. Formula one academy.
She wouldn’t even be invited
@@markvincent5992 tbf, there is a fairly wide field of talent in that series
David: In response to the Caveman @bud4868 I wanted to confirm when Janet Guthrie made her Indy bid. And, surprise!, I learned she was born in Iowa City. How about the "Janet Guthrie Memorial Iowa Corn 300 presented by Hy-Vee"? Or naming the trophy the Janet Guthrie Memorial Cup?
So, a 7-time NASCAR Cup champion tries Indy and can only muster the role of back-marker in the series...and Deegan, a perennial back-marker in the minor leagues of NASCAR Cup series racing, is going to give Indy a spin?? Pass the popcorn, please.
"Danica 2.0"? 🤔
I've got a dollar she never drives in an indy car except for a publicity stunt, meaning a test session or something of that nature and I haven't heard one word about any nascar team at any level interested in her. To that, I'll add that I have seen comments about why doesn't Jr motorsports hire her, and most responses were "that she's signed with Ford." Okay, so where's the Ford race car? Surely Ford will provide a car if she is locked in with them. Maybe she will drive a Ford something or another Pace car at the Indy 500???? Questions abound with the Hailie Deegan Saga with every racing RUclipsr keeping her in the spotlight. I was a fan, but to me, she clearly doesn't have what it takes, at least in any Nascar top series. Finally, I'm so tired of people making excuses for her.
she's seems to be a better road racer than oval racer
So many drivers in IndyCar are easy to like/cheer for. Thank you for your coverage
I agree, David interviewing them as a regular guy with a media pass lets them be themselves.
She can't handle Indycar. She doesn't like to be in traffic. Her brain can't pick up what her eyes are seeing fast enough to be safe in an IndyCar. Would need extensive time in Indy Nxt
Deegan in Indy ... lol, she wouldn't be competitive there either. She should look at pro stock drag racing or dirt.
No damn way. "Failie" Deegan would be another Milka Duno in Indy cars. Slow poke on the race tracks.
Failed truck, failed xfinity. She needs to be nowhere around Indy cars with her record....
Yes but she isn’t! And was that Dale Sr. or the kid? I can see her being compared to Jr. but senior…,nfw
People like a novelty. Patrick and now Deegan.
Wouldn't have anything to do with the hybrid regen system upsetting the balance? Le Mans prototypes appear to have the same issue but no one even DARES raise the question.
I would think that the extra power would be a good reason to spin off, if you’re not used to the delivery of it.
@@markvincent5992 extra power on corner entry or mid corner? They initiate it past the point, ya igno.
@@nicksterl.2133 exactly what I mean. Getting used to the way power is delivered, is it a sudden hit or does it just smoothly add to the current power train? As you pointed out, where to use it to best advantage; mid corner easy, upon exit harder, so on. And when to combine it with push to pass. I can see how getting it wrong would upset the car. I guess how and when to use it is the question. Thanks
Btw Hailey deegan did do some Indy car practice stuff about like 5 years ago so she already knows how it feels
If she can't avoid contact in a full bodied race car, what's going to happen in an open wheel race car 😬
Lol Hailie is like 22 yrs old.. how many of the haters even had a paycheck coming at 22 😂 did they all know exactly what they were doing for a career… F’k no ..she’s so far ahead of 22yr olds they aren’t even in the race..
I wonder why she's so far ahead.......hmmmmmm.....maybe because of the family she grew up in had money and already had attention from sponsors. Keep trying to make it sound like she worked her way up from the bottom. lol
"she's so far ahead..."
Ahead of what, exactly - ?
Are you basing that statement on her current record in Xfinity or her record in Trucks - ?
Keyboard idiots keep saying she sucks but they have no room to talk never raced in nascar or indy she would beat all of you.
If she goes back to ARCA, she’ll likely be getting her “far ahead” arse waxed by 17 year-olds …
Plenty of people get paychecks at 22... i mean how else you going to survive except living with parents.
She’s nowhere near good enough for Indy cars. Go race go carts that’s about her level
