Check the list of Steeler LBs and look at all the guys we uncovered, then trained: James Harrison, Greg Lloyd, Joey, Jason Gildon, Larry Foote, Earle Holmes,Vince Williams, Clark Haggans...Every team in the league had a shot at these guys, but passed them over. We didn't. Sure, we whiff on some guys, even first-rounders: but we keep enough talent in the pipeline to survive the flops and dominate with our small-school gems and converted undersized DEs
Just like Porter and Harrison before him, Watt is also a tone setter with a mean streak. I love how being a fan you see patterns and similarities, it’s nice to reminisce.
What an amazing time to be a steeler fan. I was 22 years old then. My brother was 19. Watching every steeler game since was old enough to remember with my mom amd dad. Great memories grilling on sundays watching this team. Go Stillers.

This early to mid 2000's defense was fun to watch when my team wasn't playing. Joey Porter was great. And the Steelers / Raiders rivalry has always been one of my favorites. I remember in 2002, Joey had 3 sacks on Rich Gannon that game. He was pretty dominating that Sunday night. I miss these days. He also called out the bucs defense either after or before their SB win, before the Steelers went down there and slacked them. He chased Ray Lewis onto the bus. So many iconic moments. He got thrown out before a game because the other team crossed mid field. Everyone talks about Harrison being mean but Porter was every bit as mean!

He is one of the best LBs in Steelers history. Coaches for us and won us a playoff game as a coach because he teesed Pacman Jones. I can not belive he is not in the Hall Of Fame
I miss Cowher as much as any player. His teams were gritty and always ready to play. His teams played Steeler football. Tomlin hasn’t had a hard nose team in over a decade. The Steelers became incredibly soft and undisciplined after Cowhers era of players all retired. Tomlin is incredibly overrated and none of his teams represent the steel city. Who cares if he wins at least 8 games every season. He’s only won a few playoff games in the last 10 years and his teams have looked unmotivated and unprepared for the first quarter of every game this past decade. It just hasn’t been Steelers football for a long long time under his leadership.
We also destroyed their 21 game winning winning streak that year. Too bad I was too young to remember it though, and the fact that they robbed us in the AFCCG 😡😡😡😡😡
