- The in-depth reality of an Autism Burnout and how to manage it effectively.
The truth is that an autism burnout can sneak up on you when you least expect it, and can in fact hit you right when you think you are totally in control.
It is never easy to recover from autism burnout and it isn’t easy to deal with it when it happens.
In this video I discuss with my friend Zack James from Yo Mamma the ins and outs of the dreaded autism burn out and what it is like to be an autistic adult being self employed and making content on RUclips.
This video is an open discussion to hope you learn and deal with autism burnout as and when it happens.
If you have anything to add to this discussion, please leave a comment on this video as I read and respond to every message and I would love to have that conversation with you.

This channel is so inspiring, I wish the US was not so behind on diagnosing adults especially women! I feel like we are so behind on diagnosing people and view everything as anxiety or depression disorders, just because it's not severe autism. Your lucky to be in the UK!
I agree
Sei Adriana The UK behind to with diagnosed women they believe it actually will be 2 males to 1 female.
But official study was 3 boys to 1 girl.
So diagnosing in women is slowly getting there in the last 5 years.
But it still a few years away from getting the actual number of 2 boys to 1 girl ratio of diagnosing ASD.
@@garyfrancis5015 My daughter is 21 and is just now getting a diagnosis because her issues look like other things, but other treatments haven't really helped, It's all making sense now. The burnout was what got her digagnosed finally
@@barbarasunday3514 does she have pain with her burnout
My coach says people with autism can not have a burn out because they're sensory overloaded every day.....
🙅♀️🙅♀️🙅♀️ WTAF!
She's really qualified though so this statement made my jaw drop....
It probably means most of us had a burn out in childhood already or at least in high school age!
"Researching for leisure" is a real thing I struggle with also.
Oooh yeah for sure!!!
I am so glad that I could bring you two together!! You guys are so AMAZING!!! I'm Definitely gonna SHARE this VIDEO!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤👍👍👍👍👍 xo! This just proves no matter how much or how little you sleep, your still very good looking!👍❤👍❤ Yes the fans will really appreciate it!! 🧩🎨💚Best 2 voices I have ever heard💚 Yes Please Treat Yourselves!! You more than deserve it.
I really appreciated this video.
Thank you!
Sometimes videos are very well timed. I was at the apex of burnout, feeling terrible and that phrase comparing burnout to forest fires, got me my head back, thank you for that.
I have been a fan of you two for 2 years for sure!! So I knew this would be incredible & it is! I learned a lot guys!!💗👍💗👍💗👍💚💚💚💚 I wish I could see more like a part 2 of Dan & Zack!!☺️👍👍👍
Yay!!
Hi Dan! I’ve listened to you when you made a video saying it can help to start a new project when you’re depressed / burned out. I started livestreaming on Twitch and I have a lot of new energy! I really enjoy streaming. I talk about autism and mental health while playing videogames I enjoy. 🌸
That is amazing!! Well done you!
I was in final year of a 4 year degree but i was in 6th year cause of autism and now in february i dropped out and i am so happy
I'm subscribed to quite a few people who I'm sure on the spectrum, but its not the main topic of their channel. It's like I'm naturally drawn to it
I’ve just got a referral to get assessed!!
Oh hey that’s excellent. I hope it goes well. I have some videos on prepping for the assessment ruclips.net/p/PLsnq_HpT7puSMrw4ZBMu21ImFvExNH6rv Thank you so much for the comment!
Was never diagnosed still trying to figure out stuff
I generally do friendly debatable channels where's there's no right or wrong way jut sum1 else's way of doing things..
yes that a big problem just have to sleep ,feel exhausted ,to hard to keep up the mask for to long ,some time cant sleep and then cant stop
I think I got my answer
I honestly, had trouble understanding, the person you was talking to saying, it was loud and really crackling, unless the sound wasn't working correctly?
Ooh sorry - it was an internet interview sorry for the sound issues
Hi Dan,
I am the spectrum too with Aspergers and I was wondering if you could do a product review on Vibes High Fidelity earplugs. I have heard that it really helps people with autism that are very sensitive to sound. The link for the product ->www.amazon.com/Vibes-High-Fidelity-Concert-Earplugs/dp/B018WPOQSG. I have commented about this very topic on your other video on sensory overload, but you didn't leave a reply. A review would be highly appreciated! Thanks
I have a question: Would you say autistic people work best at home since that's where we have most control of our environment?
Good question. I think it depends one 2 factors. The environment and the person. Thank you so much for the comment! Make sure you are subscribed and have the notifications turned on :).
@@TheAspieWorld Alrighty, thank you! And I am already subscribed 👍
✌🏼💚
I loom knit don't have to think much.
Zack is so good looking :)
I wish I woz good with computers, it's, hard with me at my age, of 63, I have never moved, in my life, lived in the same house, all my life.
Wow that’s impressive!!
Fish
Eh
@@TheAspieWorld its a compliment as in the drag community fish means someone looks like a real gurl here im using it in context of general realness 😔
We look related lol
I feel the autism centric channel I can never compete with million subscribers.
Because it have other subject point will bring in the majority of the world subscribers.
Like say 98% of world population don't have autism.
So say there is more subscribers of Little Mix channel because the whole world can choose to relate to the band.
Because aspergers/autism is rare compared to the world population.
Sadly with COVID the world population is lowering.
But still in you tube terms of subscribers.
A autism centric like yours you Channel is primier about autism.
Over not autism centric channel.
So they have autism but gaming is the main topic.
So they get million subscribers because the whole world can relate to video games rather than autism.
Also people have choose to like you and they want to stick with your channel.
As they say autism leads people to the channel.
But it the person that makes viewers stay.
i really m iss outbackzack. he used to make so many funny skit videos back in the day. and he had some good videos on his vlog channel, including a good video about autism
