Everybody loves Raymond the mechanic.
Ha
🤣
Where do I get one
Whoever invented that little saver deserves a medal! Shame on FORD!
They really did a good job on this
It’s a Chevy problem too. My 2000 Silverado 5.3 has 2 broken bolts on the driver side. They also make them for that, except they are like $15. I just live with it though, never actually fixed the slight leak.
My 2016 6.0 Silverado has the same thing. No shame on ford, shame on cast iron that curls and thin gaskets, nationwide.
@@CheddarCheeseBandit They used too small of bolts. You have to replace them with better grade bolts or studs to keep the problem from happening again. I think it's a cheap hardware issue and poor design for thread size. I have seen plenty of classic cars with bolts that are literally missing chunks out of the neck of the bolt from rust and still don't break without heat.
Honestly would be smart to install with 0 broken bolts. Seems like the first to go is the back top which probs breaks the rest
That's what happens to all big blocks not just fords. 30 years actual experience has taught me that
What a shame
check with the dealership. they may have had a recall on your manifold and you may still be entitled to free replacement. happened to me with an old CrownVic
Unfortunately not
Everyone with a f150 would be outside the ford dealer😂😂
That's a great idea. My thought: add the red high-temperature Permatex gasket sealer to the process. Had a 60's Chevy in the late 70's/college whereby a rocker came loose and punch a fisheye-cut in the valve cover, in FL/springbreak before the 1300 mile trek back to school. Crankcase pressure had it squirting out hot oil onto the firewall and subsequently the accelerator pedal point and leaking onto your right foot making it damn hear impossible to drive. Wiped off the cover, put a wad of that Permatex and it held the pressure cured quicker too due to the heat. Lifesaver to have onboard. Had two different colored Top-Siders the following summer.
That’s a great suggestion
That's an awesome rig
Appreciate it
I called the brand and the shop ordered one. Severely nice guy to deal with
I’m very happy
Kudos to the engineer of that product! That’s amazing! Utilizing the holes already on the block is genius.
Yes, I’ve had it installed for over a half a year and it’s working perfect
Where did you get it from?
I put one of these on my Tahoe and it worked really good!!!
I’m very happy with my purchase
That’s awesome what is the company and part name?
I’d love to try this on my 86 van/ambulance if it’s available I’d really appreciate it!
I love your rig! Coolest looking and purpose driven!
Thank you Kim
what is the part number
Thanks for this idea! My Ford van is making the exhaust leak sound and I’m about to tackle it
Go for it. Such a good ride in mine now
@@NewJerseyOutdoorAdventures I had a look but it seems they don’t make one for the 1996 5.8 engine 😢
Holy hell, I gotta try this on my Crown Vic
It is working well for me
I have a triton in my food truck. The exaust has been leaking since I got it. Gonna try this! Thanks.
I’m so happy I found this, saved me from such a headache
That is a really cool solution
thats great!!
You sound like the dude from Project Farm
Not familiar
These do work on all kinds of stuff i made mine that i used on a shuttle bus with a 5.4
Great video wat is the part called will it work for my Lincoln mks
That is awesome. Need to tighten as heat affects it. Wjere'd I git that Dandahermit
Not too tight
That's a badass looking van. Dandahermit
Thanks
Where in the heck did you find a clamp for a Ford van?
Finding zero, nada, ziltch for my 4.2l.. appreciate a part or name..Thanks!
I didn't know Ray Romano was onto overlanding
Interesting - I’ll give it a shot. If it works cool, than I’ll deal paying a shop to get her done.
It is working very well for me.
@@NewJerseyOutdoorAdventures ordered one, will have to grind down the snapped off stud - but I have slightly better access lol
I need that
Wow amazing whos the genius
So far so good
Thanks for sharing. Any idea if they make these for 2014 or newer Ford van?
I’m pretty sure the my have multiple kits
So this only works if the top rear stud is broken off, correct? Looks like it’s clamping down in the position that normally has a stud. (All my studs are just highly rusted... was hoping this could be used to just add clamping pressure and seal up leak)
Only workes if it is broken. Eventually yours will
Sounds a bit like Ray Ramano
Ha
@@NewJerseyOutdoorAdventures Needs more nasal...
That's genius
It really is and the owners are very nice
Is there a link for this magical part ?
Anyone know if this fits in the 6.8 v10? Cant find one specifically for that engine
Better view of the part name and number. Can't use it if you can't buy it.
www.Kralautoparts.com
Please send me the link for this been trying to find this for ford . Broke dang header bolt
Do they do this for RAM with a hemi? Every manufacturer has swapped over to making bolts from cheese. They corrode away, or snap like a toothpick.
Check them out kralautoparts.storenvy.com
Where did you get it i need one really badly
Holy shit this might save me.
Saved me
Does anyone knows what size bolts are those . I made my own bracket but can’t figure out what size bolt I’d need to mount it
Can help me i have damaged camshaft position sensor housing and its leaking oil 2010 Cadillac escalade 🙏
Funny how this never answers the question of what the part number is...Why even do the video?
Will this work for a 2011 ford expedition xlt ? Sorry had trouble finding the site
I believe so yes
What is the suspension system?
Will this fit a 2003 triton v10? I have found the clamps but only for cheverolet models
I just did a online search and found many options for the v10
Whats it called???
Where do I get that I can't find it
I wonder if this will work on my Aerostar🤔🤔
Probably same problem
Where do you get this from?
If the gasket is ok
Yes, I was lucky
Whats this called and where can i get it
They offer for the Hemi if anyone's wondering
Ah, good information
Where do I get this at?
I need this for my van! where can I get??
Kral Auto Parts
Where can I order one?
I have a 1976 van 460 cid will that work on it?
I don’t believe so
Im replacing my stock bolts with quality stainless studs
Tired that, they are too thin and will crack off with the engine torque.
I'm thinking that you just added 3 more bolts that will seize up.
Not anytime soon
Will this work for a ford f350? 06
Yes, I was told by other viewers that it works on many years even the newer ones
Do you have a link where to order this??
kralautoparts.storenvy.com/products
Will that work on a Dodge? Do you have a link for it?
The link is in the description. I only see GM and Ford
Will this clamp fit my 2008 Ford F150 5.4 ? Passenger side
Absolutely
@@NewJerseyOutdoorAdventures which part number ?
They don’t make them for my 1996 Ford Econoline.
Could this leak cause p0420?
It’s possible but it has the same clamping action as a manifold stud
I want to know what the leak sounds like
Ticking noise
@@NewJerseyOutdoorAdventures do you have a clip of it? I have a ticking noise but it’s hard to tell if it is manifold related. It comes from my wheel wells and it has a more hollow sound not very sharp and metallic.
😮
Glad you found the video
Will it work for a 2001 Ford expedition?
I’m pretty sure they have ones for that vehicle too
@@NewJerseyOutdoorAdventures how can I find out?
So jokes thats the only bolt on my manifold that broke doesn't Leak but my flange mounts rusted out and that's annoying
Where’s the link to this kit?

I hate working on the modular vans. No room for anything
Tight
@@NewJerseyOutdoorAdventures very tight
@@NewJerseyOutdoorAdventures that's what's she said
@@dnisemoneyhaver 😂
But if the gasket is shot . This wont work
The gasket was not shot
OK but a leaking manifold destroys the gasket so this would replace the boke but the gasket still needs the manifold removed to replace it
The gasket was metal and still intact. May differ from vehicle to vehicle
not really bro
Part name, number, or link?
www.kralautoparts.com
My friend did this on his Silverado, it doesn’t work it ends up leaking still
Mine is good so far
User error
@@dnisemoneyhaver could be.
কোন গ্রমের কতো দাম
The right way to fix it is slap some headers on it lol
Now you are talking
or the exhaust pipes rust out completely.
Mine are stainless so far so good
Ray Ramano is that you?
Hello 👋
Patrick?
Hello 👋
Got one of those for my 06 5.3 vortec. Got it from doorman. Tried to get the stud out after it snapped off, but it snapped flush and my drill bit started to walk and chewed into the aluminum head a little so i just stopped. I got 70k on mine, works well.
Ray Romano and you need to have a sit down
Definitely
Doesn't fix anything. I've got 2 of these on my f150 and I have to retighten the clamp bolt at least once per week because the lock nut doesn't actually lock anything in place
Interesting
Use loctite
@@TravisMidcap loctite would work if these didn't get hot enough to destroy the loctite
Nice to know, but Fords have the worst brakes ever. Never gonna buy another Ford.
Every car or truck has their negatives
@@NewJerseyOutdoorAdventures Bought brand new 93 F250 / 06 F250. Both trucks gave me grief and brake repairs over 20 years of ownership. I babied them trucks too.
Another one of fords better ideas👎
The fix worked for now
Sounds like a halfway ass of not repairing something - but kicking it down the road a little bit.
The kit has the same clamping action as a manifold stud and is less prone to cracking
Ford truck??
A truck has a bed a Van you mean
The Ford truck class has the same engines and are more common. The video was to help not to mislead.
Making hack tools to bandaid a problem. Well yes I do believe in capitalism but from a mechanic standpoint that's a terrible fix. And I'm saying that as a guy that modified his trucks to run on wood chunks
I wouldn’t consider this one a band aid. It serves the same function of the manifold stud, to clamp the manifold against the head. Ford undersized the studs and even replacing them, the problem comes back after they crack from the torque
@@NewJerseyOutdoorAdventures I know that very well, I have a entire bag of ford studs and nuts in the bottom draw of my tool box from doing these manifolds HUNDREDS of times
Another terrible design from FORD
GM has the same problem
DEATH TRAP BUY A C02 DETECTOR PLZ
I always had one, it’s an RV
That’s the most ghetto repair ever
Not sure why, it does the same task to clamp the manifold to the head
Is this for 5.4 triton? The Kral website does not provide any specifics on what it fits. Is it the KAP108?
This was installed in a V10
Should I replace my bolts with new ones before they break?
Might be too late
Yeah the bolts on my 44k mi 2012 e350 are intact but very rusty. maybe I'll use some penetrating oil on it and see if I can gently loosen them out without them breaking.
@@VanIife don’t risk breaking one
Bro I can save you tens of thousands of dollars… Never buy a Ford they suck. Next you are going to have the spark plugs blow out of the heads what’s your easy fix for that!? I won’t even ask how many times you have had to replace the ball joints, tie rods, u joints, and or wheel bearings! 👎👎
Glad you found the video.
@@NewJerseyOutdoorAdventures hope you take my advice those trucks are truly unreliable
