  • The Ozone Photon is Ozone's new two-line EN C paraglider. Designer Luc Armant explains what pilots need to know, including why this glider has winglets and what they do, how it behaves in stall, what the performance is like, what sort of pilot it is designed for, and what you should do when you go SIV with the Photon.
Filmed at the Stubai Cup, Austria, March 2023.

What a great mind in our sport. Really great we have people like him moving things significantly forward in so many areas. Looking forward to fly one as we now have come a long way with 10 years of refinement, since the very first 6.5 AR 2liner, the Peak 3. Only real downside was the climb in weak stuff, otherwise almost a bullet-proof wing which got me totally hooked on 2liner flying 😃Really keen on seeing how Ozone got that sorted - and ordered one 😝
    Thanks for this great interview!

Well done Luc. Should be really good to fly. Why the advance style winglets? Stef Juncker

A lot of people say a 2-liner should be flown with a seat board harness. How did you find it with the GTO lite?
I find the GTO low on weight shift but ok with an Alpina.

Hi John I only got to fly it for 30 minutes, as was aware of the queue of people wanting to try it and it was in early thermals. However I found no problem in putting the Photon where I wanted in the thermals flying the GTO and felt right at home on it very quickly. Looking forward to getting to know it better when the review wing arrives.

lol, who says that? I doubt even 30% of zeolites, OXAs, klimbers, Scalas, etc are flown with a searboard. It might be not for everyone, but well, that's how it works.

I fly an X-Alps 3 with a Lightness 2 harness which is seatboardless. Flies fine, but it's noticeable when the chest strap is at loosest setting.

mmmh winglet for spiral neutrality doesn`t seems a great sales argument, cause i think if you fly EN-C you should knonw already spiral and exit through SIV course...

Did I hear that right? At 2m 30s, Luc says ~15cm / second difference (in sink rate ?) compared to the Delta 4.

Ozone said the same for the delta4, a 12cm/s improvement on the delta3
