How to Make Your Dr. Squatch Bar Last LONGER

- To save you the trouble of watching this video, the tips are
1. Cut your bar in half and use one half at a time
2. Use a loofah. Get the bar wet a bit and apply to the loofah.
3. Keep out of running water. When you take the bar into the shower, after applying soap to yourself, place the bar onto a soap saver and leave out of running water.
4. Use the soap saver. After the shower, dont leave thr bar in the shower. Take it out of the shower and leave on the soap saver for the next use.

The cutting the bar in half is a nice tip, and the soap saver is a must. I just rub my body down with the bar, then I put the bar on the soap saver, and then I scrub my body down with the loofah. I was able to make my bar last for two months, and this works weather the bar has grit or not.
Dam 2 months shampoo doesn’t even last me 2 months

Lol you are 100% right kid cause I use dr Squatch Pine tar and the first time I ever used pine tar I was in the shower rubbing myself down wetting the soap and it’ ran down like crazy in one shower it was down 20 percent .. lol so I cut the rest in half .. started using a loufa and bought a soap saver now I’m good but I’m glad someone made a vid about this . Someone needs to hear this ! 💯 make some soap reviews man keep up the good work 👍🏽
the exfoliator soaps like pinetar isnt good for using loofah use the bar itself
I’m so happy it helped! Unfortunately though, I found that loofahs tend to take away the exfoliant effect in exfoliant bars, but nonetheless provide a great clean overall!
Loofa trick only works with non-exfoliators. If you're using something like pine tar or the cold-brew cleanse, you want to use the bar itself on your skin. Also, cutting your bars into quarters makes bars last quite a bit longer, if you can handle the small cube
You’re so right. The loofah is practically useless when using an exfoliant. I’ve also never thought about the quarter cut method, ironically 😂

@@mariorivera8182 exactly, I notice people say stuff similar to “it’s already down halfway after 2 showers” or something. Before I even got the soap saver and stuff my soap lasted at least 2 weeks.
Same and that’s why I thought these were a scam because the bar would be gone within a week. But I started cutting them into 4 pieces and using a loofah - bar lasts me 2 months. However the nice clean smell isn’t as strong. I suppose that’s from using a loofah instead of bar directly on body
If you can, buy extra bars of soap and let them dry out (age) in your underwear/socks drawer to harden and moisture to evaporate. The harder/drier/aged the soap is, the longer it lasts and your clothing will smell good.
French Milled soaps naturally produce the dryer/hardened soap bars so letting your new soap bars age is kind of like French Milling with time.

Pine Tar smells awesome. I've been using my bar since Dec 17th and it is now January 2nd and I still have soap. I get a lather going with a rag and move the bar to a dry spot.

I'm buying the Pine Tar for hubs to try as an 'I love you' gift, going to have him cut in half, then half again, then thin slices so it can dry out before use. He can grab a small slice to go with the scrubby cotton washcloth I'll knit for him with a hanging loop to dry. Men are so hard to find gifts for. 🥳
That's what I'm talking about all the negative reviews on Dr Squatch I never understood I use it with my loofa along with my Duke Cannon soap as well

Update! The soap is great! I decided to cut slices off it like it was cheese. Less of a mess and makes it last. I was happy to find something that helped my skin not be dry, and no more flaky beard. Good stuff.
Dude, squatch pine tar is my fav soap and thanks a ton for the extending life tips. Mine never lasts long because I was doing everything you said not to do...awesome advice. As far as you belch, I give it a 6 on a scale of 1 to 10, funny stuff..

I'm guessing depending on the oils used and what's added, some bars could be prone to melting faster. I could be wrong though so don't quote me on that.

Tip. Use the shower to rinse, turn it off, and use your soapy loofa. Then, turn it off, amd rinse, and shampoo.

Using a loofa works really well, except you should only use it on bars that have a zero grit for ex, bay rum, alpine sage, fresh falls, etc. if you use a loofa on bars that have a heavy grit, it’s ruins the purpose of the grit which is exfoliating your body.
does it still smell like it does without the loofa or does it lighten the smell
@@bruh9476 no matter if you’re using a loofa or not, the scent will be the same. i’ve seen though that some bars used on loofa’s bring the scent out more.

What l found is buy more than one bar use one once and store it in a cool dry place for a week or two while you use another bar. When you go back to the other bar it will be hard as a brick much harder than when you first got it cuz the moisture will evaporate out of it... Once you let it sit for a week or two you won't even be able to get the soap gripper in it until you actually get it wet🐣™️💯
I just used mine as the whole bar straight into the water and it wore down quick after 3 showers.
The only thing is the exfoliating bars are not able to exfoliate with the loofa you would need to use the bar on your skin
@Stanified thanks for the tips. really appreciated. i just made a move with an order on march 5/21 for soaps, deodorants and toothpaste. the prices are not cheap so your tips will def help once the order reaches my hands. i feel confident that the soap and toothpaste will work out. the deodorant, while i have seen overall good reviews, i will try it but am a bit skeptical.

Its pretty good! Although the scent isn't too too strong, I still think its a pretty great scent. I don't fully remember, but I believe the one half of the bar did in fact last a full month

Or you can use a washcloth; which will act as a soap carrier and lathering aid. Thus, cleaning the entire body while using less soap.

I had this same problem. I just build a lather on my chest and use that to spread on my body to clean it. A little is a lot and is much simpler than what this guy is doing.

You’ve got more surface area on two halves than on a whole bar so it will rub down faster as 2 halves, even if you keep it out of the shower. Makes 0 sense.
