    A bit confused about the arm acceleration. Sure, I think you should accelerate from the catch and on, but I think most of the power should be applied in front, since it is not that effective in the back? Would be interesting to hear your thoughts on this.

      If you don't continue accelerating your arm you lose your hold on the water and slow down. You can try that by standing and doing both, continued acceleration will noticeably add more force. If you slow down you need to pick up speed using your arms and wasting energy.

      When the power is 'applied in front', you are pushing down, mostly. This raises your head and lowers your legs.
