For people that don't have new lowers with release valves, would you recommend releasing the pressure by inserting zip tie between the stanchion and the dust wiper?

I have been asking fox about this since 2006, no reply or tips on what to do. Mrp ribbon works much better for me, although 2019 grip 2 36 ia better but I still need to burp it once a week at least. Love the dialed series thanks.

is it ok if the bleeder valve is always open? just bought a fox 36 performance fork and the button of the bleeder valve is missing so I think it is always open now.
why not utilise air vent of auto pressure relief valve to maintain a constant lower leg pressure?
instead of the manual release valves? which obviously create inconsistency?

Every Fox fork I've had came dry ......no lowers oil at all !

What do you do if your fork doesn’t have the equalizer valve?
Mike R you can use a small zip tie while you save up for a 2021 fork.
You can hack it by using zip ties. Slide one through between stanchion and wiper seal. I never really liked this method but it works. Beware it can introduce junk into your fork internals and damage the wiper seal..
Luke yeah probably not a good idea if I want my forks to last.
@@MichaelRei99 Other than the zip tie method, I think the only way to do it would be to loosen the nuts on the bottom of the lowers and crack them open to let the air out. Upside down, of course, so you don't let all the oil out too.
I don't feel like this is something most people will need to do regularly (assuming your seals are, you know, sealing), so zip tie would be my choice. Just make sure to clean the area well before you do it and cut the zip tie so it makes a sharp point that slides under the seal easily. I had to do it last year when I messed up a service (put the lowers on without the air spring fully extended, so I had negative pressure in them) and it worked fine and didn't bother my seals at all.
