I am a fan, but my all-time favorite car is the F1. I will most probably never be able to own one so I am getting my sports car itch scratched with a ‘95 Mitsubishi GTO TT AWD ATX. I have installed a Forced Four shift box and paddle shifters in it so I can be in control of the transmission. I also replaced the stock turbos with slightly larger units that yield about $650hp to the crank. I know, it is not a McLaren, but how many people can afford one anyway… And it looks darn good with the ‘99 front and rear end conversion I did to it! 😉
Some issues: "little known" driver Denis Hulme was the F1 champion in 1967, and co-dominated Can-Am with fellow Kiwi McLaren. McLaren died while testing the M8D (not "A") aka Batmobile, which ironically was developed to accommodate the FIA ban on "unsafe" high wings .. which the M8B used in dominating the 1969 Can-Am.
I'm not a terribly big fan of their cars, as they are all pretty much copy and paste just with minor body style changes, doesn't mean some of them like the Sabre and the 720S aren't awesome
I love to shit on mclaren for building shit cars (F1 excluded), but this thing actually pretty cool, sadly only got a chevy small block. Wished it got a v10 or v12, possibly a detuned one of those flat 12's Great vid!
Thank you! And yeah it would have been cool to see some sort of unique power train other than the LS of its time in the form of the 350 small block, but that’s just my opinion
eh its got American guts so it can't be that bad, then again I wouldn't necessarily trust British designers, how can I trust them to build a car when they can't even elect the right prime minster?
Are you a fan of the M6-GT? Whats your favorite McLaren car ever made?
I’m a fan of the m6, f1 long tail, and speedtail.

You can definitely tell that the F1 takes a lot of liberties and shape from the M6-GT
