They're one of the things I collect. They were available for about a century, starting in the 1830s with drawings. The Viewmaster is a modern day version of these. I would have loved to come across those. Fun fact: Brian May, astrophysicist and guitarist for Queen is an expert on these, and he has released a book called Queen in 3D, with 300 stereo photos of Queen, and includes a compact 3D viewer designed by Brian May.

Bummer day. It's funny how sometimes the "big sale" days turn out to be duds and then the weekends where there's only a handful of garage sales are really good. But I always say to myself that if I can't handle the bad days, I don't get to celebrate the good days.

Getting out of the house quickly is impossible when you have kids. It doesn’t matter how old the kids are. I’m not sure how it happens, but it’s my truth.
This year was first year I actually shopped the sale, sure thr rain definitely hindered it, but the sales i did go to I just wasnt finding much that i wanted, at least i got to spend time with family, but i think i prefer selling at this sale than shopping, great video as always
@RachelStrickland could do a video on that if ya want as well, I feel the actual yard sales make decent money during it, since ppl don't like going to vendor booths as much during it
Wow, the storage lockers in Dexter were dead? We went from Bloomfield to Advance and back, found a few good things but nothing earth-shattering. Had the best weekend yet for my booth in Bloomfield, though.
I went back on Saturday and it was just as dead at Dexter's storage lockers. She isn't renting spaces anymore. So the only people set up had to be renting units
I have noticed this with community yard sales as well. I think more people are selling on eBay directly in hopes of getting more money. RUclipsrs make it look so easy ;)
@@RachelStrickland yes it was! Normally, I see it on the events page of Dexter chamber of commerce page.. but it wasn’t on there this year, I also couldn’t find a Facebook page for it either. So maybe it just wasn’t advertised as usual. 🤷🏼♀️
@@RachelStrickland it’s owned by Country Pickins now, they are in Doniphan, PB, Sikeston, Bloomfield and coming soon to Jackson. Bloomfield has a new manager, much improved.

It’s the Thursday through Saturday before Labor Day. It follows hwy 61 from Jackson, Missouri all the way up to Bloomsdale. It’s not quite as big as it was in the past and there are areas along the path where there’s nothing for several miles.
