The owner of this 5.0 decided to test out whether or not PMAS "no tune" intake and calibrated MAF was worth it or not. The car already had a tune on E85 on the car, as well as GT500 mufflers. Three dyno pulls were made within 20 minutes of each other:

Stock intake+hood OPEN
DynoJet dyno, SAE corrected numbers. Big shout out to Pur Performance for letting us do some testing on this Coyote on the dyno.

I like how this dyno video was laid out good job
14rwhp & 7rwtq. Not bad
Lol irk I was expecting like 5 hp! 😂
This is a remake of another video made about a month ago. Having an e85 tune in the car defeats the purpose of putting a no tune intake in a modified car. An better test for the intake would be a stock car no tune with the no tune intake.
No tuning changes were made for the intake. It's a valid comparison. This system uses a calibrated MAF instead of a choked down tube and the stock MAF.
+Dev1360 I have this intake purchased from upr. Absolutely love it. Didn't mean to get all defensive. Just thought my idea would be a more realistic video for those who don't convert to e85. Why are your dyno gains less than what pmas claim?
PMAS intake is the best option for late model mustang but the no tune intakes leave power on the table. Long tubes, PMAS and a good tune and you’ll make 450+ on a Gen 2. More on Gen 3
question.. Ford performance pack stage 1. and this intake? how would work , will have any problem??
It looks like a simple K&N drop in filter on the stock intake would make almost the same power! TBH I've gone from a drop in filter to K&N Air Charger and then the EVO Injen CAI and best low end results I felt the drop in filter was best with the tune! Might just remove my Injen and go back to stoc intake with a K&N drop in filter...
Can you test stock airbox with oem filter and stock airbox with Green filter. The OEM filter flows bad.
You're supposed to tune it after
Stock intake have a paper filter?
ya but what filter did you use in the stock box? Best mod is drop in K&N.
Not bad at all. WHP. Figure what he makes at the crank.
Should of tuned it with the aftermarket on.
have a link for this intake? thats a healthy gain. i have a 2012 gt and with the stock intake manifold an aftermarket intake isnt really worth it.

we are lucky there werent any big crowds around
It was strapped in but you could see it wanted off the chain
pump 93? I just dynod my s550 at Pur today and made 395/365 with the same mods. you have LTs?
Are you getting a code for camshaft censors? P0024 code. I am. I have similar mods. Wondering what I can do about that. Any help?
Going to PUR today.
why do people bother with this. you can't feel less than a ten percent power increase. I'm sure it sounds more aggressive. can you get a fifty horsepower gain with intake exhaust headers and a tune?
Its product testing. regardless if you feel it or not these performance parts are not cheap and people want to know they are getting what they pay for. Then combine them to get noticeable power difference. The car can make about another 50bhp NA
The stock intake on 11-17 Coyotes is very good. It's a hotly debated topic as to whether it helps or not.
14whp and 8tq aren't a huge gain, but when combined with other stuff, it starts to add up. Not to mention the ability of the intake to allow room to grow. 14whp should be about 1MPH in the quarter, which is always ET potential.
feelings don't matter here. a gain is a gain and 14whp peak and gains throughout the PB is pretty substantial.
I understand that for an intake it's pretty good gains. But in 3800 lb car and baseline 350 HP to the wheels you can measure the difference with timing equipment and a dyno, but to me it's not going to feel that different in daily driving or even WOT to myself and/or my passenger. To each his/her own. :) If YOU like it, don't let me stand in your way of purchasing it.
Lame comparo. Show me a tuned PMAS vs a Tuned JLT, Air raid, etc. We all know the stock airbox sucks. I bet you could throw any "no tune" CAI and see gains vs stock. Show us the aftermarkets. This does nothing to confirm or deny the amazing PMAS design everyone is bent over backwards for.
Agreed. I have PMAS CAI. I just got my 17 GT tuned on the dyno and it only showed 400 hp at the wheels. Kinda fucked up my camshaft censors too. Why? Not sure. Hello check engine light.
@@sbiegs3885 it's the tune

Well considering the Mustang's record is 5.80 in the 1/4 and the `Vette's is 5.40.. I would say for the price involved... Mustang>Vette EASY, is the extra 40-50k worth .4 seconds in a max effort build?
