On some of these pictures josh almost looks older than he is now, like in the future he invents a time machine and goes back and writes all this crazy old qotsa stuff. Wouldn't surprise me.
It's from the Kyuss/QOTSA split E.P on Mans Ruin Records. But this is the original, original Gamma Ray (QOTSA's original name) version that was only released on 7" vinyl on Mans Ruin. It's EXTREMELY rare!!! :-)
This one is better than the studio album version with the choppy drum fills. There's more dynamics to this version. It feels like slow building movement into unknown territory and then instrumental.
Betcha didn't know that Josh Homme was in a band with Matt Cameron called the "Well Water Conspiracy." Josh has recorded and played so much its unbelievable sometimes.
Burning Man Yeah. He was present for the Gamma Ray recording sessions. Josh flew him up to Seattle to sing backing vocals on this song. If you listen real closely, you can hear him come in at the 2:30 mark.
Dude these pictures are awesome, how did you get them?

even thefade dot net says it was vic, click on the tracks and there's the band line-up for this recording. matt was part of the original gamma ray as well, but he didn't record these songs.
This is slowed down, that's not C standard. It's closer to B standard tuning (which would make this in the key of Eb instead of the original F). The original is faster than this.
Untrue. I am sorry, but this was the time when Josh was still touring with Screaming Trees. He contacted Cameron to do this. When they realized that there was a metal band called Gamma Ray, they changed to QOTSA. And at that moment he used Alfredo Hernandez. I'm not sure if he remixed the recording with Victor. But the story says that Cameron was the first one contacted. thefade(dot)net/ oldsite/ discography/ gammaray(dot) html
No, the intro and outro are different and this one lacks John Garcia doing backing vocals. Listen closely to the intro of this one and then the one on the Kyuss/QOTSA split. The opening notes are more buried and weaker in this one, and you can hear two distinct guitars clearly. That’s not a playback or quality issue. Also, unless it was faked, in the opening seconds of this recording you can hear the vinyl crackle as the needle is dragged across it.

Josh Brownsell drugs is one helluva drug
hahahaha!
Josh Brownsell class
Such a banger!
You can tell it’s the real vinyl version from the cracks and pops
Love the end of this version, breaking down the riff into a simple, mellow, catchy, slow solo...
love the beginning of this version
QOTSA Classic! Thanks Mans Ruin records! :-) RIP

This recording is from the Kyuss/Queens split album, slightly slowed down. And if I remember the liner notes correctly, the drummer was Vic the stick.
This one is better than the studio album version with the choppy drum fills.

0:30 The single most 90's photo I have ever seen.
The original Queens lineup is actually my favorite Homme, Oliveri and Hernandez was the best.
I definitely agree. But it could just be our nostalgia talking.
@@rivers1902 not me I didn’t start listening to Queens until fairly recent like maybe two years ago
@@BungleGrindClown are you aware of kyuss?
@@rivers1902 yes I love them. I recently really starting getting into their albums. Welcome To Sky Valley is just awesome

Everyone knows that homme played onna few songs with them. And homme wasn’t a member of that band
@@theninthheart4736 I didn't know that
Excellent song especialy when you stoned! ;)
You can just barely hear John Garcia’s backing vocals in the chorus.
Stoney Lonesome whaaaat he sings in here?

Some do not know this. But the drummer from this session is Matt Cameron from Pearl Jam and Soundgarden. Fucking awesome
Yeah and don't forget also: Hater and Wellwater Conspiracy
@@disposablepeople61 Yeah right! Both friggin' good bands!

My name is bullyonwii and I love Queens of the Stone Age.
where did you found all those pictures?
Great QOTSA song
does anyone know if this is Matt Cameron or Alfredo Hernandez on drums? If it’s from the split Kyuss/QOTSA project it could be Matt Cameron ,right?
😘😘
long story, it wasn't me on my account, my friend loves QOTSA. Not much more to add.
HAHAHA! 3:05 pic is the most classic shit ever!
4:54 Lmao they don’t even look like themselves
hell the fck o!
This song is so fucking hard

Actually it'd make it E instead of F, C and B are a half step away from each other.
Oh yeah, you're right. Thanks for catching that
Jack Nelson, definitely slower than the original!
@benboone007 no, it's Dave Grohl
Where?
conan.... are you Gene?
2:15
Picture at 2:00 josh and dave :D
josh and dave
Dave?
Josh Homme bir tanrıdır
elhamdülillah
this sounds an awful lot like Alfredo's drumming style...And if Matt Cameron played drums on this song it'd sound a helluva lot different.
Huh?

Nah. I think it’s Alfredo Hernandez.

IS THAT PETER DINKLAGE !?!?!?! (Bottom right at :40)
thats just the version from the kyuss/quotsa split cd in a very veeery bad quality...
phelyks or it could be of the gamma Ray ep that had this and "if only everything" on it
I think the Gamma Ray cuts are the same as the cuts on the Kyuss/QOTSA Split CD.
