- Queens of the Stone Age - Born to Hula (Old Version)
I haven't found this one on RUclips yet, so I've uploaded it myself. enjoy!
lyrics:
Follow trails of you to here
Every mile takes you my way
Rolling faster if we can
Tables turnin all the time
I'm the dog at your feet
So we are it again
You're the one
Fucking have to wait a dime
Different signals blinkin my way
Coming faster all the while
You're the one
Ain't it something, we're born to hula Видеоклипы
Upload it all, I'd appreciate it so much
It's been uploaded by me before but they had it taken down :( im reaaaaally hoping this and others will stay on here forever
@@UnclePockets youtube honestly needs to chill with it
Driving with this track is very dangerous
+WalyB01 i agree
Only to the cannon fodder... All those anointed shall hammer down the ribbon unmolested...🚛💯😜⚡️T.C.B⚡️
WalyB01 Yes. Yes it is.
110 mph think they ar kmh
More or less lethal from 2:10 onwards
Be grateful that we have two versions
Theres three versions of this song
I'm very grateful.
This one is my favorite. This is gammarys first song to be recorded before they were queens of the stone age
I've never heard a version of this song I don't like. The more the merrier, as far as I'm concerned.
Damn this was 2 years ago, time flies when you're smoking herb and playing kyuss.
I love the old raw sound QOTSA had back then, when josh smoked tons of weed and still didn't feel very comfortable with his voice but sure damn tried. Some of my all time favorite stuff.
Fucking Beatle-esque in this one, right?
definitely brother rated r will always be my fav album of theirs, I see this band more of my guidance councilors since i started listening to them when i was 13, im 27 =S
For sure. In all honesty, after Songs for The Deaf I lost interest: their later stuff sounded too over produced. Christ, I heard them on the radio once and thought they were Muse, for fucks sake.
@@johntaylorson7769 It's obviously very common for most fans of any band to find the early/first albums better than the new, but I will agree that all the albums after Era Vulgaris are on the bottom half of my favorite Queens albums. Doesn't mean I don't like them all, though.
@@SonicAlchemy13 glad im not the only only one, these last 2 just didnt do it for me, a couple good songs forsure though
I love this one so much more than the other version! I used to have it burnt onto a CD like 12 years ago but lost it somewhere along the way. Glad this version is here to listen to 👌🏻
Same. Not sure when/where I lost it, but once everything went to streaming services I was disappointed I had lost this version and couldn't find it on Spotify, Google Music, etc.
It was on an unofficial release called The Bronze Age, it was a Bootleg I guess of alternative mixers from an early era of the band, The Bronze Age track was on it, that was put on the re-release of the original album
matt cameron from soundgarden drums on this
For real??
Pedro Meyer Bueno yes for real.
F yeah!
Oh wow awesome
My favorite QOTSA era. Amazing stuff. Even seen 'em live circa '98..mesmerizing experience. Lucky to have even seen Kyuss back in '95 in Rome. They sounded like fucking armageddon live.
Wow! You're pretty luck!! nice era to rock concerts...
if you are reading this, know that you are listening to rare qotsa tunes
Post Kyuss stuff always rocked so hard. That was the peak of the band. Raw, heavy as hell.
On second thought, the intro AND the outro are KILLER on this version.
THIS IS THE QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE I MISS!!!!
Bring it back
This song pillages so fucking hard
That's just extra
my fucking god this is the spot which needs hitting much more often. god bless an odd trio.
I can't stop listening to this song!
This one is definitely from my personal soundtrack of life. Ive always gotten a lot of enjoyment from Queens and Josh and Co.
I have always been in love with Queens' B-sides and rarities. Each one always has it's own unique sound that is undeniably Josh Homme and his revolving cast but wouldn't fit on any album. This and "Infinity" are my favorite off album songs.
Infinity, born to hula, running joke, the fun machine took a shit and died. They are amazing.
Wait where is "Infinity"?
@@juanjosebusnelli390 It was recorded in the era of Lullabies to Paralyze, but I think it didnt fill on the album... Anyway you can find it here in YT, also one of my faves from them.
Just to clarify for everyone:
This song is NOT a Kyuss song. After Kyuss broke up in 1995 Homme set up his own project. In 1996 he released two songs under the band name 'gamma ray' (which were not recorded with Kyuss band mates, but other friends): If Only Everything and Born to Hula. Both of these were released again a year later when the Kyuss/QOTSA ep was released, this time, for the first time, under the band name Queens of the Stone Age. Born to Hula was re-recorded as a B side for 'The lost are of keeping a secret', and it was this version released on the Rated R deluxe edition.
Right. Spiders and Vinegaroons also came from the same Gamma Ray sessions. But there are 3 versions of Born to Hula. This, that Rated R version you mentioned, and one recorded the same time as the latter one with a longer solo and female backing vocals, my favorite and the least known.
Do you know where I could find the version with the female backing vocals? I haven't come across that one.
Ben Rymer I too am interested in that version. Can't find it anywhere so far
Every time I've tried to put up the link, which is 3 times now, my comment is deleted. It's on RUclips, just search Queens of the Stone Age-Born to Hula (Non-LP Version/Alternate Version).
Thanks. I think the original is still my favourite.
Holy Shit Thanks for the up[load. I consider myself a Josh Homme connoisseur yet I have never heard this. What an amazing relic to discover. Thanks again!!
Cool Song Huh Mr. Matt Mellen
Ditto Matthew! Thanks kaptein for the upload
glad you like it guys
i've been a huge fan of qotsa for a number of years, and have searched high and low for everything this man has laid his fingers on, that being said i just discovered this song and im completley fucking blown away after all these years all over again.........just awesome
Ive loved this song since I saw it live at Bumbershoot in Seattle...for free. Best old show I can remember.
Never get tired of listening to this one...
John Garcia does backing vocals on this awesome track!
Kyuss is THE band you have to listen to if you are into "Stoner" Rock!
On drum groove and opening sound effects the re recorded version of this song wins, but on everything else, this recording triumphs🤟
I also love Matt Cameron on the drums, gives this song ultra Soundgarden vibes👌
Kyuss QOTSA album was the sad end of one era and the exciting beginning of another. I was a huge Kyuss fan and bought it from MeteorCity as this was a Man's Ruin release so it was a little rare. As I understand it, Josh played most of the instruments by himself to start out with. Then he hired Fredo and Nick for the first full lineup. First QOTSA I can remember song was 18 AD on Burn One Up.
dude... gotta love both versions... both are sick
The first time I heard this was at a sound check before a show in Lawrence Kansas in 1998. The sound of Gene's Psychedelic wrapped drum shells was incredible.. Visual and Audio Bliss!
I had this Cd a long time ago. I hate myself for losing it. It had like 3 Kyuss songs on it and then a few Queens of the Stone Age songs. Including the original version of born to Hulu. Best version
It’s on RUclips. The kyuss/quotsa split. One of my favorite albums of all time.
Thanks for the upload. It's nice to hear Matt on the drums.
It's Josh on the drums bud aka Carlos von sexron
I prefer this version
Holy crap this is good! Its not often I discover new QOTSA stuff
One of those times when the 'crappier' one has the edge.
Who calls this the 'crappier' version? I think this is a lot better.
I think he means that, soundwise, this one is clearly inferior to the newer version. But he thinks that this version is the better version of the song.
+jammamamma kind of what I mean. I like this version better because it's rougher and such.
Have you heard there Desert Sessions? It's pretty much a lot more of this. It's raw, in your face, and just so, so fucking good
Honestly that’s usually the case IMO.
It goes to show how great QOTSA when they have a song with 2 intros and they are both 10/10
This is an excellent speakers test
This is so much better than the newer version. Sexiest goddamn song ever made
that is for sure
essa musica nessa versão é mto braba ce ta doido
2024 still
coming back!
This has that vintage charm like a lot of Kyuss stuff. This one feels so much different than the one on Spotify. I love it.
Garcia sings back up on this song though. You can hear him backing up Homme when he says "Hulaaaaaaaa". It's pretty clear if you have headphones.
Wow, thanks man. This is some list. Been a fan of them forever. I just saw them again last month and It reinvigorated my thirst for all things QOTSA. Happy New Year
Like everyone else, thanks so much for uploading this!
thank you been looking for this =)
This song never ceases to amaze me
The last great rock band!
THANK YOU!
still pref this version!
Thanks for uploading. This song and The Bronze are the best. The remaster of the original album sounds great as well. Due out next month.
This is the best version of the 3.
Yep. That's the best version.
what a intro
Love this song.
Thank the gods! This song is so great!
I like both versions. Cooler intro and heavier sound here, but awesome drums and cooler outro in the newer one.
Cooler intros in both of the tracks, so 😒😒😒.
People tag it Kyuss a lot because John Garcia is on Backing Vocals.
Yes!
This is the epitome of Fast/ Slow/ distorted/ clear style of Rock. The most original band ever. Period.
I speed to this song in the Desert.🙊
John Garcia also sings backup on this track.
It's way better than the new version! Just great!
Thanks Uncle Pockets! Quality shit my friend.
This is the peak of all music
annoying sidenote, I live in LA. found it 3x for less than 8 dollars. gosh those were the days but you should see what I hoard now....
I love these people.
The groove is just soooo fucking deep :)))
Great song! Love Matt Cameron on the drums
matt cameron was playing drums on this song?
@@calebspillman6159 yep
discogs say it's Vick the Stick on drums
I like better the desert session version but thanks a lot for this!
Thumbs up for the intro :)
The best ever
This version is better imo
best song!!!!!
Discovering the song that perfectly describes that time you found "The One"...
If only the volume on this version could be louder
ever heard the one from the Complication EP? that my friend, is mind blowing. This song is so fucking fantastic i could literally listen to it for a whole year on the course of my days.
Je suis Ginger Elvis > all
My ex put the new version on a CD for me and I thought I was going mad or something
actually the final album Queens of the stone age(from where josh homme named his band) consisted of 6 songs 3 of whom are credited to kyuss and 3 to Qotsa.. so this one is credited to qotsa as josh sang and played for this song rather than john garcia so i think josh has all rights to claim this song as his own.....
also apart from this "if only" and "spider and vinegroons" are also credited to qotsa
Gotta love this intro...
Actually no, it was released on a Kyuss album but it was QOTSA who played it since Josh was forming his new band. Which means QOTSA.
What??!?!?! Serious? Did not know that. *Mind blown.*
goes insanely hard
This was on the Kyuss split released on Man's Ruin back in, I think, '97. Would have to look at my copy... coulda been '96.
Best era period

There's the old Version, the version on "Stone Age Complications" and then the remasters version on the Deluxe Edition of Rated R.
Best …..song …….ever .
So deliciously fuzzy
BORN TO HULAA!!!!
SOOOO MUCH BETTER THAN THE 'NEW VERSION'
wow always believed it was a kyuss song but now it's obviously queen of the stone age. wow
And it sounds like Kyuss ^_^
New version is Ok , but i wouldn´t trade this intro for anything in the world
thought it was alfredo hernandez.. well whoever it is the drumming sure is insanely amazing
This is the better version. One on QOTSA's best. Ain't it somethin?
Matt Cameron tearing it up.
would you be able to tell me what album or ep would contain this extraordinary version of this song? the kyusss/qotsa split? The version i heard on the "Stone age Complication" b-sides is totally different, i would owe you big time for this my friend.
yep, that's true, sorry for the confusion.
Is this Matt Cameron of Soundgarden on drums?
I think this is the exact version.
Is there any way of obtaining the whole collection of b-sides and rarities legitimately? I've looked and looked and I can't find anything. It makes me sad because a lot of my favorite songs are b-sides and I can only listen to them on RUclips. I know this isn't really a b-side but even this album is hard to find.
My only is concern with that is not getting the maximum quality. Normally I wouldn't worry but I love to drive around with my system and RUclips quality usually is kind sucky.
NoahTheJerySpringer Here qotsadownloads.blogspot.com/2014/10/qotsa-definitive-collection-of-b-sides.html click the download link after the tracklisting and it will take you to where you can get it.
+NoahTheJerySpringer I still have the physical CD that has this song, which I bought from a record store eons ago. I don't know if that helps at all, but perhaps search for used CD's?
This version blows the B-side from Rated R out of the fuckin water, Rock on Josh!
why did they replace this version it’s so much better
