But he did hate her and admire her at the same time like--they have so much in common. However you spell it. Also he is being a good father and trying to feel love for the first time with Heathertail. So as long as he stays positive everything is going well.
He never at any point made any indication he admired Hollyleaf. And he attempted murder on at least 3 separate occasions, betrayed all the clans by working with the DF despite KNOWING they were bad, gloated over Hollyleaf's death, and then proceeded to try and kill Lionblaze, and only stoped because Crowfeather intervened. Just because he has kids now doesn't make him a good person. It doesn't mean he's turned over a new leaf, and it doesn't excuse everything he did.
Don't try to defend him when he has only ever been horrible. And don't use the "but his daddy was MEAN!" excuse. His dad was distant and strict, and by no means a good father, but he was not "abusive" like people try to claim. And no matter what, a bad father is no excuse to try and commit murder and treason. Breezepelt should have been punished. There is no excuse for the things he did.

To be fair, in the broken code he warns the young cats of how going in the dark forest is an unforgiveable mistake, and tells them they shouldnt do it.

With all due respect, comparing Hawkfrost's daddy issues to Breezepelt's is like comparing a pile of garbage to Mount Everest. A bit diffrent origin, consistency and huge size diffrence.
What I mean is Hawkfrost had daddy issues, sure, but it wasn't the center of his character... mostly because there is not that much of a character to speak about. But main reason why people like Hawkfrost is because no one is trying to say that canonically he was 'a good guy but misunderstood'. He was a villan. No the best one, but fans love them some villans, and Hawkfrost has enough edgy bad boy vibe to sell it.
With Breeze some people try to excuse his actions, saying that 'he was just neglected by his father, so he turned out a bit on the wrong side' which is a) a total bullsh*t considering Crowfeather wasn't even half as neglecting as fandom makes him out to be, and b) Breeze tried to murder more people than Hawkfrost, a canonical Warriors villan. He is not a misguided young cat, he is a sadist. And we are not allowed to enjoy him as a villan because he supposedly isn't one now. That leaves us with really nothing to like about him.

@@ZundelArt I know this comment is old, but Breeze’s actions weren’t solely because of Crow (yes, he 100% should’ve been held accountable for what he did) but we had a very strong understanding that Leafpool was groomed into joining the dark forest by Hawkfrost, so why does no one talk about the same thing happening to Breezepelt? Breeze’s actions seemed less something he did out of sadistic intentions, and more so to prove something to someone he thought loved him (Hawkfrost) and I think that’s really sad. Yes, he did terrible shit, but everyone seems to leave Hawk’s grooming out of the equation hh

Yeah, I've been putting off reading the new arc partially because Breezepelt gets off way too easy? Like, Goosefeather I can sympathize with. Breezepelt, not so much.
@Dyu I mean, yeah, not intentionally. But whether he wanted to or not he ended up being the catalyst or so much avoidable grief. Moonflower's death and Crookedstar's broken jaw are good examples. And yeah, it wasn't his fault, but if he hadn't been there in either example things would probably have turned out more or less the same, but with more living, happy cats.

Yeah, he didn't ask to be Starclan's backboard they pinned all their prophecy ideas on, but the fact of the matter is if he weren't present(killed off or otherwise not among the clans) things would have turned out a lot better for a lot of other characters.

Breezepelt is among the worst-written characters in the series. The Erins are essentially saying with him; it’s fine to abuse and neglect kids because they’re probably evil anyway, and this deserve the treatment. Those three need to communicate more.
Remember when Russetfur was going to watch a kit die because it wasn't a clan cat but everyone was so sad she died?

Heathertail isn't in the same clan as lionblaze. He also didn't join the dark forest except that one time back in middle school once in highschool he refused to train with them.
Be fair though, that happened in the middle of the battle that Windclan initiated with Thunderclan where they legit attacked TC apropos of nothing, and tried to drive them out of their territory.
In Lionblaze's defence, his powers were messing with his head and making him blood thirsty, he wasn't exactly in control of himself(unlike Breezepelt). Remember when Lionblaze accidentally killed Russetfur? Lionblaze was horrified by what he'd done and felt awful afterward.
I'm not really a big fan of Lionblaze, but I wouldn't put him on the same level as Breezepelt. His bloodthirst came from his powers, not him as himself. Breezepelt's just an ass.

This is the exact words of the Code: “An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win their battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or if it is necessary for self-defense.” So yes, in some cases, killing is necessary in battle. (Though it’s been a while since I read the books, so I forget if Lionblaze killing her was justified by the Code, or he just killed to kill.)
Lionblaze and Breezepelt are two different characters who followed two different paths. Lionblaze clearly learned from his mistakes, and tried to become a better cat afterwards. Breezepelt...er...likely didn’t. He didn’t seem to feel guilt, nor care. Though he might’ve. I never read past The Last Hope.

I think Breezey is annoying but he doesn't deserve to die... Like, he has a mate and kits, he loves them! And if he dies, he must go to StarClan. It would be unfair to let Ashfur there, but not him. They both did horrible things. And the Dark Forest corrupts their souls. Breezepelt would become truly evil.

Ashfur was a great cat before Squirrelflight accidently made it seem like she's interested in him. I know they are cats and cat fathers usually don't care about kits, but these are fictional, religious and group-living cats.
