Excellent information! I’d love to fly out in that area. So far my only exposure to that area has been on a cruise ship( a nice way to go imo) but flying is on a different level. Good job and take care, Bill
Nothing out of the ordinary on your return flight. I am a complete believer of emergency preparedness especially on over water flights. Your preparation was thorough and complete. Very nice flight and look forward to additional videos in 2018! By the way, I would like to wish you a Happy New Year!
I spend time in Salt Pond. Flying the Skywagon back and forth from Florida. Normally fly over at 11,000 and back at 10. Only a few minutes away from landfall.
Arron seems like an old hat to Bahamas flying, even knows the cheeky shortcut of “being unable” to get coverage & getting it a 7000 AGL from Miami. I do plenty of flying in the UK 🇬🇧 & am lucky enough to have at times a new Diamond DA62. A fantastic aircraft. In a climb for example around 14,000ft u burn around 8.7 a side n that’s in a climb. It burns Jet A so much cheaper n the dual engine capacity n the perfect safety & redundancy built in u can climb & cruise FULLY LOADED @ 14kft on 1 engine. It’s all fully push rod controls so u can get amazing feel for the aircraft n the tech inside is amazing, the build quality between say a SR22 n a DA62 is as some customers say “the difference between Chevy & Mercedes”. The DA62 being the Merc n that’s a huge compliment as we all know that SR22 isn’t to shabby. Also u get full FADEC, starting an engine is just like a car. U pi a button n that’s it, no un ups needed. I’m trying to wrangle in a trip across the pond in England to the USA. I think if u had the chance to fly in a DA62 u would fall in love with it n u still have 3 rows of seats 💺. I suggest that anyone looking at an SR22 to checkout the Diamond DA 62 as it doesn’t cost a lot more but is twice t aircraft.
Great video. After all that expense on avionics, etc., you would have thought that they would at least have re-covered that peeling glareshield ;-) Great shots of coming into and landing at FXE, where I learned to fly - and still do fly there often. Happy New Year!
I have always wanted to be a pilot since I was 5 and went on my first plane. I have not ever been in a prop plane but I want to. I am to young to start lessons now but I will soon and when I found out how to start lessons😬
I don't know exactly how old I was when I knew I wanted to fly but I know I was in elementary school and the passion has never left me. Just go to your local airport and talk to the flight schools there. They should be able to answer any questions you have.
That was funny when that pilot politely announced his intentions to take off. It totally brought back a memory of when I was in the early stages of my flight training. After completing our run up my instructor told me to notify the tower that we were ready to take off. Sounded simple enough but this is what I said; Pontiac tower Cessna Nxxxxx (can't remember tail number) is cleared for takeoff runway 27L north bound departure. The controller quickly responded with a severe tongue lashing. She made it very clear exactly the mistake I made and she was very rude about it. I felt horrible and shocked at the same time, lol. My instructor tried to console me by stating that he didn't like the controller either. He said that she's was very well known to bark out commands with a nasty disposition. Some things you'll never forget! 😊
cool thanks.. thank you for sharing your experiences with us. I got my Private Pilot certificate back in Puerto Rico and moved to FL. Your videos are helping me a lot on how Atc and everything works here in FL. Thanks
It'd be cool if there were streams on liveatc.net of the trans-Atlantic airspaces... I don't even know how that shit works but I assume satellites?..Otherwise, where are the transmitters for the frequencies?
That DEKAL arrival is just a bit nuts... if you ignore what's under you, it's simple, but they've got you stooging around out there forty, fifty miles off the coast at 3000... in the Baron it's probably no big but if you're in a Pilatus or a 210 or whatever with just one fan and it decides to go south out there, you're in for a swim... :( Much rather get a lot closer in before getting down that far. Coyote on the runway?! MEEP MEEP!!!
Heard you talking about airlines pilots meals.........depends on the airline, but most of the time, we get to eat business meals ......much better than crew meals.
Baron Pilot oooh god sorry.......I did not get it at all😬😬😬😬😬😬by the way, Great airplane, flew it for 2 years as cargo pilot, but boy, not easy to restart when hot !..... Cheers from France.......now you know why I was awkward 🙄
Don't apologize. With English being your second language I understand everything doesn't always translate. Fortunately I have the hot starts figured out. Thanks for watching!
Great series. Crustables, huh? Well, if you don't have a galley onboard, I guess it's the best you can do! :p In other news, I FINALLY am working again, and this time, it's in Aerospace. I'll be doing repair work on Commercial avionics. If you think the paperwork to get in and out of the Bahamas was bad, you ought to see the paperwork to test and repair something like a Flight Management Computer for the airlines! But, I think I'm going to have fun!
Actually, I'm nowhere near airplanes, or even an airport. The job is in downtown Renton, Washington, working for Honeywell Aerospace. They have LRUs, or Line Removeable Units, which are pulled by the maintenance crews at the airport maintenance facility, replaced, and then shipped into us. We test and repair and then return the units to the company where they are either put into a rotation pool or returned to the aircraft. But, between the FAA, Transport Canada, the Europeans and the Chinese it's amazing all the paper work you have to do. If I'm lucky, I might qualify for a FAA Repairman Certificate in two years or so after OJT. I would like that on next to my PPL! LOL
If i am not mistaken that would be a 1976 Barron 58? Am I reading the instruments correctly? 178 MPH IAS and 151 MPH GS on the LED display. If so, very impressive considering the head wind component. I also notice no ADF receiver, do you folks still use NDB anymore? How were you able to get that STAR on your iPad, do you have access to the internet over the ocean? Excellent video; keep them coming!
It's a 1966 B55. With the advent of GPS navigators like the GTN650 in his airplane, ADF and DME gear has gone the way of the Dodo Bird. As to the STAR, or any chart for that matter, you have a subscription to something like Jeppessen, and you download all the charts you need. If you only fly in a portion of the country, you may only download the charts for that portion of the country.
Well, it has an updated panel, and if the interior was redone, it would be hard to tell from something newer. The B55s had the ability for six seats, but normally just had four, whereas the B-58 did have six seats, the rear four mostly arranged in a 'club' configuration, the second row facing the third row. It would be impossible with a cursory glance at the panel, since pro-1984 panels were all the same. You wouldn't tell the difference there. A lot of it is 'pride of ownership' and how well the pilot takes care of his airplane. But, a well taken care of airplane will age well, especially when the model doesn't change significantly over the life of the design.
I've been watching your videos for a couple weeks and I really enjoy the Baron flights! I have zero stick time on that bird but I would love to fly one at some point. You're going to be a RUclips Star Pilot like StevoKinevo soon! And when is Lucy going to roll out her own channel? Or how about having Lucy do the pre-flight walk-around while you film? :)
What a beautiful place to fly! Doubt I'll ever have this opportunity, but one never knows - just a winning lottery ticket away! :D Filed in the memory banks for future reference, just in case. :) Thanks for all the info! I enjoyed the trip! Subbed. :)
You and me both! I figured if I win the Powerball, $300 and some odd million dollars, I'll take the cash option. IF I can get my medical back, I'll restart my training, pick up the rest of my ratings through CFIIM, but a couple of airplanes along the way (put them up for Leaseback) until I get all my ratings, and then buy something like a Cessna 414 or 421C. But, with all that money, I'm single and will never spend it all, family gets some, but the people here on RUclips that I enjoy watching, Baron Pilot, Jerry W, Flight Chops, Steveo and a couple of others, will all get some nice 'presents.' BP will get another IFD440 and an Avidyne 600 indicator, as well as a EDM-960 and probably a G500TXi. If I can bring happiness to others, why not? :) Of course, I need to win that jackpot first. Yes, I do play, but not often. :p
hey, Bruce, a little touch up and a littlle paint on the dash
Awesome videos. Makes me miss flying. Not flown since 1995. Only was checked out in 150, 152, 170, 172 and sundowner.
Get back in the air
I could not pass a physical or afford it anymore.
Enjoyable flying both of you..,very informative!!.
Thanks!
Excellent information! I’d love to fly out in that area. So far my only exposure to that area has been on a cruise ship( a nice way to go imo) but flying is on a different level.
Good job and take care, Bill
Very informative! Flying with an expert!
Glad you enjoyed it. Yes Arron is great.
Great in-flight discussion about "the details!"
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching.

Thank you. Happy New Year James to you and your family.
Great video. Keep up the good work. Safe flying
My compliments. You are the first pilot referring to a checklist.
It’s one of those things that usually gets edited out for time. We all use them.
I spend time in Salt Pond. Flying the Skywagon back and forth from Florida. Normally fly over at 11,000 and back at 10. Only a few minutes away from landfall.
Nice!
Heya! I wanted to bookmark the links you guys were talking about around 15:09 but didn't see any in the description. Great video!
Mooney's can be a maintenance Hog. Be there soon.
Mine was great and after owning a twin I miss my Mooney maintenance bills. 😂
Thank you for sharing I hope that you had a great Christmas and wishing you and your family a safe and prosperous New Year.
Thanks I did. Hope you did too! And I wish you and yours a Happy New Year as well!
Very nice and informative round trip. Thanks for sharing as always. Happy New Year!
Thanks for watching as always!! Happy New Year!!
Gotta say, you've introduced me to some of the best fucking royalty free music out there, lol. Kudos to the music director!
Merci vidéo magnifique on peux sortir de la trajectoire du plan de vol
Welcome from England 🏴
EPIRB is for boats PLB is for personal use

If I had to choose between avionics and a glare shield I would choose avionics all day long. But it is on his hit list.
Happy New year captain Baron. And Many blessing
this series will bring in some good numbers :)
Thanks. I hope so.
I enjoyed the round trip. Wish I could've tagged along for real. Cheers
Thank you for the great content!
Thanks for watching as always.
Nice video , lots of info , keep em coming !
Thanks. More to come!
That was a rough landing. I'm surprised your copilot's hat stayed on. lol
Great video. Happy New Year
Thanks. Happy New Year to you and yours!
Are those the Cat Cays they're flying over at 16:19?
Very nice
Thank you
Great video,thks.
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching.

That's funny. I can see a controller doing that. But the bright side at least you have a great story to tell. Lol
Awesome video! I need to get down to the Bahamas.
If you haven't flown their yet you certainly need to. It is such a nice flight and of course great place to visit.
You need to go, just made my 1st trip this summer....wont be my last!!
Awesome flight and video, as usual! And, what was that chat with the tower about something on the runway?
There was a wild animal on the runway. A wolf or something they were trying to scare off.
Tower called it a Coyote. Wile E. was looking for a Road Runner, but in Fort Lauderdale, I don't think he's going to find one. Alligator, maybe!
We still wating for the video with you stevo and premiere 1 driver ..Very informative video btw
Keep an eye out on their channels next week! 😉
cool thanks.. thank you for sharing your experiences with us. I got my Private Pilot certificate back in Puerto Rico and moved to FL. Your videos are helping me a lot on how Atc and everything works here in FL. Thanks
That's awesome. ATC can be intimidating when you aren't familiar.
It'd be cool if there were streams on liveatc.net of the trans-Atlantic airspaces... I don't even know how that shit works but I assume satellites?..Otherwise, where are the transmitters for the frequencies?
Great flight....how far from Eleuthera were you flying please ?
Stella Maris is 80NM SE of Eleuthera.
Ground said coyote on runway (later said fox), probably chasing the Roadrunner.
Lol

I was actually being facetious. I know the meals you get. 😉
There’s always one who doesn’t get it... found em
Baron Pilot oooh god sorry.......I did not get it at all😬😬😬😬😬😬by the way,
Great airplane, flew it for 2 years as cargo pilot, but boy, not easy to restart when hot !.....
Cheers from France.......now you know why I was awkward 🙄
Sal Taglireno
Sal ....I feel like a tart .anyway !...cheers from France (😳) guys....... and fly safe.
Don't apologize. With English being your second language I understand everything doesn't always translate. Fortunately I have the hot starts figured out. Thanks for watching!

Gary C By any chance in South Florida Gary? Where were you before aerospace if you don't mind me asking? 152, 172 pilot here...
I love the uncrustables!! Just bought a box for home! Lol
Sounds like a fun job. I would love anything that kept me around planes all day!

Can you post the link to the CBP video you mentioned in the video? thanks
I was just yelling at him for that link. Lol.

Thank you for the kind words and your vote of confidence. Funny you mention Lucy, I just filmed her helping during my last preflight. LOL
Baron Pilot Very cool. Is that one posted? You could narrate as she does the all the checks. Make it educational. :)
No just filmed it. Will be upcoming and just a quick clip. But I like your idea.
Silly question maybe ... does your crash bag float by itself?
Great question. Yes it does.
You should turn on closed captioning especially around the 9 minute mark. Hilarious! Good flight and great info!
Oh I know. It's horrible!!
are you aloud to talk about ufo you may seen on the air???
Never seen a UFO
UFO,Damn! My flight instructor reckoned I was one!
What a beautiful place to fly! Doubt I'll ever have this opportunity, but one never knows - just a winning lottery ticket away! :D Filed in the memory banks for future reference, just in case. :)

You're a good man Charlie Brown!
Flew to Stella 2 weeks ago. Customs a non event. Back again in April.
I can't wait to go back
what is that you 2 are eating
Uncrustables. PB&J
The video is very good however, the wind makes it difficult to hear what you are saying maybe some kind of shield over the mic? Just sayin...
Ya I know. When I recorded it I didn't realize it was that windy and I didn't want to "fake" a new open.
crash bag? to include two fifths of vodka. Amsterdam coconuts.
I think that falls under the pain medication section. Lol
Crappy audio and then add music to make it worse.
fake
