Dutilleux was, at is best, a wonderful composer, but at the risk of being shot down in flames I can't help feeling this and 'Correspondances' are rather thin and go over the same exquisitely perfumed ground, not surprising for a composer in extreme old age, I know. Thank you for posting this though. I wasn't expecting that harpsichord around 9.30 !
this work shows Fleming in all her strength , tailormade so to speak. Music of the highest level, written with her in mind: wonderful !!!
Admirable! The last work by Henri Dutilleux. He was 93 years old when he wrote it, and his inspiration was still so fresh!
