Sorry, but Cindi Lauper's version had a huuuuge production, but was unfair to not mention the song was a cover. I didn't know and I was sixteen in 1984.
@@ThursoBerwick I didn't know she wasn't british. Sorry, even today I can't say if the singer is american or british (most times). Yes, this guy reminds me things like The Knack, My Sharona, from 1979 too
This video is obnoxious.. do you like the female version the male version of the lyrics. Yawn . Woman against Man thing is getting old.Who cares . if you love Cyndi Lauper version. You should be more respectful of the writer who wrote the song. You could have used his name not just said A Man .His name is Robert Hazzard. Without him it wouldn't exist. Many performers have covered songs other people have written some have made huge hits out of them. generally they show gratitude and are not disrespectful to the song writer
Ngl I love both versions even if this version was the original or the other was a cover, gotta love both for their effort in putting this song out tbh
sounds excellent!
Thank you for your great work, I love this version as well so an higher definition version is welcomed!

This has a great New Wave sound to it which Lauper's didn't. It reminds me of Squeeze.

It sounds very punk, I can’t believe Cindy’s version is a cover
You did a great job. It sounds great.
It seems Rick Ocasek from the CARS singin'
Podem criticar, mas achei essa versão melhor que a da Cyndi Lauper.
I like this one better than Cyndi Lauper cover.

Interesting! A male prospective.
You mean “perspective” not prospective. Cheers.
Could be a prospect. 🎉

I'm just amazed to find out that Cyndi Lauper covered it. Weird Al does a funny version too.
I do like the original. More new wave which is in lines with my taste
What is this a response?
