Raphael saying "And you've kept your clothes on this whole time? How unlike you." made me so mad, that was such a shitty thing to say to Astarion, knowing what he's been through. I was fr like "Ok, Ik we still need answers from this guy, so we can't *kill* him, but can we PLEASE beat his ass?"
I think we deserve to get both confession scenes before and after meeting Araj. Theyre both important conversations for Astarion to have, and different enough to both have their place in his development. i was disappointed when i found out you'll only see one, not both. also i'd like to hug him twice but even if we can't i think having both really hammers home just how much you're helping him and how far he's come.
Okay so 38:04...I have never seen him so open with a Tav like that before. How he admits that he doesn't know another way to be. He certainly doesn't seem as open with a non-Durge!Tav from other playthroughs that I've seen, and this here really solidifies how close he and Durge!Tav really get. Poor Little Star ;_;

Side note but I don't think I'll ever get over how anxious and surprised he looks when Tav hugs him, or how genuinely he melts into it, or the intimacy in how he holds their hand after. It's such simple and sweet gestures but I think it does an incredible job of showing how he really is starting from scratch here with the intimacy stuff. Later in the graveyard he'll talk about feeling reborn the day Cazador dies, but I think this shows it as well, like he's in some kind of purgatory here. Between death with Cazador, and life in freedom, he's flailing and trying to figure out what could be.
I recommend beating the orthon without completely taking Raphael up on his offer, and make sure you kill hill by talking him into ending himself… Astarion is very impressed by it.

You can only trigger one cutscene with his 'confession'. Either by going to the Moonrise Towers and taking a long rest, or talking to Araj, rejecting her offer and taking a long rest. You can't get two in a row.

been watching these in order (the one for act 1 first, then this) & i must say it was a little strange seeing all the romance bonus parts from act 1 followed directly by the party rejection bonus part, all on the same character. guessing it must have been 2 completely separate versions of act 1 you had saved? since i don't know how else you'd get the rejection party dialogue on the exact same character as the non-rejection dialogue & the entire act 1 romance vid before this 🤔 also, this is the first time i've ever seen the alternative convo with raphael at the inn since i'm guessing that it's only a non-romance version? & i've never ever ever played this game once in 3 yrs without romancing astarion... but man, those underwear 😅 & i'm guessing the choice at 52:57 & the approval is yet another thing the haters haven't noticed
Yep, you're absolutely right! Astarion had 19 approval (neutral) when I recorded this 'rejection' dialogue. We went to the Goblin Camp directly, after speaking to Zevlor. I've had a strategy to kill all the goblin leaders without fighting the whole house (no nuking everyone is required, except for Minthara, because I needed her armor). I had to do it twice, tho. In main save file my Tav has already slept with Astarion, so it wasn't possible to get party 'invitation' with medium/high approval. You can get Raphael's alternative conversation if you skip talking to him in your first time at The Last Light Inn tavern. Defend Isobel and speak to Raphael.
Nope! I don't use any mods, because I still have locked achievements left. The Dark Urge is not limited by anything other but the background. It is always 'The Haunted one' with proficiencies in 'Intimidation', 'Medicine', 'Performance'.
@@misami213 You're welcome! I was told The Dark Urge will kill its companions by the script, but it turns our you can still be 'good' and fight your urges. The story will follow your choices, which is great.
One minor glitch can delay the video, unfortunately. Some npcs have skin texture problem since Patch #2. Zethino and Astarion's 'siblings' turned red. I'm waiting for a new patch :C

Sure! I've picked her class and race for a reason. She's a High Elf, which grants her the longest lifespan among other races. And she's a druid (The Circle of the Moon. This class bases on transformations into beasts + you can heal yourself in animal form by consuming health potions or a spell slot). The druids can prolong their lifespan as well. My Dark Urge defied Bhaal and left Astarion as a vampire spawn. Which means, she loses 'a gift of immortality', because Astarion can't turn her into his vampire spawn. Jergal/Withers' words can be interpreted in different ways, after he ressurects Durge. He said: 'I, too, still hold some power, and I will invest a portion of it in thee. So, rise, death will not claim thee while I endure'. It's either she has become an immortal being, Jergal's Chosen, or Withers just meant that he can ressurect her whenever it's nessesary. Either by using the scroll or paying him. I want to think that Durge has become immortal. So that Astarion finally has someone who will share his life with him, who will help him to find a cure (or an artifact - ring, cloak), so he can walk under the sun once again.

Can confirm! I had to scumsave like a motherfucker to get his approval high enough lol but he does this with non!Durge too

It's an origin. The Dark Urge is an evil aligned character you can customize. It has a backstory, unlike the custom Tav.
