I highly recommend custom dynamics, great quality. Also just thought I'd mention, on the old mechanical flashers you can now buy a digital flasher with an adjustable screw to adjust the flash speed.
I do know one the 09 it’ll work but it’ll have that hyper flash unless you put those load eq on them I think up till 14 you have to use the load equalizer you don’t have to it’ll just flash fast in which it kinda gets your attention better I think when it’s faster
I changed front to cheap LED(07wideglide), no hyper flash, changed rear 4-5 normal then hyper flash, changed mirrors to custom dynamics and get the red key light........the mirrors, if you ride at night they are bright, blinding bright, daytime you'll never have to look to see if blinkers on
Doc, a few months after I purchased my 2020 heritage classic back in 2020 I purchased Hogworkz led lights for the front and rear of my bike. When I installed them, the indicator would hyper flash even though the package said plug-in play, I couldn’t deal with the hyper flash so I took them out and put the regular bulbs back in, after watching many of your videos over the past few years I stumbled across this one, so I went out to the garage and installed the lights that I’ve been sitting on for the past three years, I turned the bike and the the four-way flashers on and walked away for a few minutes and was able to stop the hyper flashing, thanks for the info
2017 FLTUR Road Glide front turn signals used EagleLights with ferrite coils and works like a champ at a substantial cheaper price but still a high quality product

The first thing I do on purchase of a new Harley is to change out incandescent bulbs to LED. I consider it a safety issue because they don't burn out and are brighter. Custom dynamics have always worked for me and they have lifetime warranty.

I use Rogue Rider Industries for the front and back turn signals, It worked for me. The front turn signals are bright white when not flashing and blink amber/ white when enabled, so it is never totally off. Look Great
On my 2020 Tri Glide I replaced the rear 3157 incandescent bulbs with LED bulbs. that simply plugged in the existing socket. At first they worked a little weird but in short order they started to work fine. Didn't know about the learning process then.

On the modern, ten year newer models, still using old-fashioned bulbs, you got to be kidding me. Keep in mind that my judgement determines if HD sells me a bike, not Harley's.
I’ve got Custom Dynamics all around on my ‘21 Road Glide Limited, and added a bunch of extras. Couldn’t be easier and they look awesome. Plus, their warranty can’t be beat (I’ve used it).

I put cheap Chinese LED's in my 2018 RKXS. They flashed really fast. My son instructed me to press and hold both turn signal buttons for 10 seconds. Worked like a charm.
I have an fxlrst and put the hd led turn signals in the front (the ones with the halo). They look awesome and the only way installation could have been easier was if they installed themselves. The rear ones though I wanted the hd ones but the service manager said the connector they come with sucks and they solder the connections and do it correctly but it’s also a $300 job (or so). I went with the custom dynamics on the rear. Had to go through a similar learning process if I recall.
I replaced my turn signal/brake lights on my 2015 Harley breakout and with doing that the turn signals work fine but the brake lights don’t work at all now. Any ideas?
I would first retrace my steps. Put the old bulbs in everything work? Front and rear brake tested. If so the Body Control Module may not be able to recognize the LED replacement for brakes and turn….Doc
love your channel ,2014 Electra glide police, police removed their red and blue passing lamps, trying to reinstall stock LED's, I haven't found why I have no passing lamps just turn signals and hazard lights, would be nice to tie into a switch or connect with head light switch/high beams, I'm new to this have any ideas?
Police have a flasher under the left side cover. Remove flasher. Soldier all three wires together. Then use the right Pursuit switch to turn the spot lamps on and off….Doc
Happy to see it finally worked for you. I have a 23 Low Rider S and I've tried several times. The rear are working, but the fronts wont turn amber and blink, just stay white.During the hazard mode, they eventually turn amber, but when I've tried it after turning hazards off, they just stay white again. I'll try keeping it in hazard longer.
My bikes are a little older. Custom Dynamics on my Electraglide with Smart Tripple play and load stabilizer, and Hogworkz headlight and signal lights with Custom Dynamics tail light and smart triple play and load stabilizer on my Sportster.

Learning works fine on my 2017 FLHTRU with custom dynamics LED / two color - white/yellow turn signals AND with CIRO Horizon LED Lighted Windshield Trim (white to yellow with turn signals)
Never had any problems with Ciro LED when I added them to both my '14 Street Glide and '17 Road King but didn'thit the 4-ways, just straightupplug and play, but then again, Ciro isn't exactly cheap. Chinese made stuff.
I guess I’m lucky I put led turn signal bulbs on my 2003 ultra classic and on my 2022 tri glide and did not put a resistor on the 03 and have not had any problem with either one.
I upgraded our 2022 Softail Standards to genuine HD front and rear LEDs. They are great but no where in the installation sheet did HD describe the process for the BCM to learn the new lights. I couldn’t figure out why I kept getting BCM codes on both bikes for the lights and rapid flashing. Internet search found what was happening and the learn process what to do….good to go now but come on HD…😂😂
I previously had custom dynamics front & rear with the triple play device. With them same issue only the red indicator would flash while driving, intermittently. HD dealer was not able to repair it, after replacing bum & elm. They put incandescent back on . Custom dynamics offered me a 5% discount for replacements. If learning does not work, I will probably live with sync issue. I’d Rather have the extra visibility ,Running Eagle lights now.
2018 FXLR, just put aftermarket ones, can't remember the brand (USA) but I was told just plug and play and they'll work proper good. Which they did and I was happy at half thr HD price. BTW, it's the end of 2023 and the non-HD LEDs are still going strong.
ok Doc, I've got a 1991 FLHTCU, when I install the back ones only , my turn signals function correctly, but when I add the front(with halo white and amber turn) I get nothing, they turn on, but do not flash, unless of course I hit the 4-ways, then all flash as there are suppose to do, HELP ME PLEASE..just what do I have to do to get these to function correctly, oh yeah as a side bar I installed a load equalizer on the rear directionals, no help there either same problem..I looked at ever forum, youtube..no one seems to have had this problem on an old ride, but I love my evo and I just need a little assistance here please
I got to ask. Your turn signals were working with the incandescent bulbs? I highly suggest emailing NAMZ company. They are the best when it comes to wiring….Doc
@@LowCountryHarleyDavidson yes sir, everything worked just peachy, like I said, I installed the back LED's, turned on the key, everything functioned as normal, install a load equalizer, then put in the 1157 LED's for the front..I only get flashing when I hit the 4 way hazards..turn signals light up but they do not blink..then I take out the front 1157's and put the standard incandescent bulbs back in the front and leave the rear LED's in...they all function correctly..I'm at a total loss brother
How about an after market LED 3157 brake strobe/flashing bulb in a 2014 Road King? Getting the b2161 code. Do the same procedure but zip tie the brake lever? Thanks

The details of the new Harley Signature LED turn signals say they won't work on my 2011 Street Glide CVO - is that true? I have Custom Dynamics LEDS in there now and they work fine. Would like to swap them out for the Harley Signature LED signals.
I just changed the turn signals on my 2023 Street Bob for LED and I love them as they are much brighter than the stock incandescent bulbs. Some models offer additional features such as a pulsating mode for the brake lights and a running white light for the front turn signal. The only problem was getting the bulb into the socket (no problem with the incandescent bulb). Harley Davidson should make LED bulbs stick on all their bikes.
I recently had to replace my turn signal module (the red and black box next to the flasher). It was $100 aftermarket and $300 genuine Parts. Still using incandescent bulbs. The aftermarket module is working fine.
Question. Will allowing LEDs to fast flash cause any damage to the electrical system? My theory is that the fast flash is more eye catching, similar to pulsating brake lights. If it catches other driver's attention and causes no damage, is there any reason that I can't run them that way? If someone comments that they look weird, my response will be, "But you saw me, right?" :D
Thanks Doc ! I have a 2012 FLHTK and have LED bulbs for brake and running lights. I have an LED headlight and passing lights . I have been wanting to add LED blinkers. I have an understanding I need a load equalizer for the blinkers. I hope to install them soon!
I always use Custom Dynamics LED's. I added them on my 2021 Ultra Limited. One day out riding, I got a check engine light. Called my dealership and after checking the coding, they said that I needed my BCM re-flashed. So just rode over to my dealership and they re-flashed it and no issues since.
Rogue Rider Industries for my front and rear turn signals on a 2018 Slim. Just let the emergency flashers run for a minute or two without starting the engine. Then give them a test and usually you’re good. If not repeat the learning process.
found out the hard way about this. 21 heritage change out turn signals with regular led bulbs. had the fast flash on turn signal indicator. didn't think much about it. then one day my bike stalled and wouldn't let me start it till about 3 min. happened twice. it was under warranty so I took it in. and found out that it was throwing low voltage codes. after clearing codes and putting back original bulbs, bike ran fine. now I bought Harley led turn signals and had same issues with codes. went on line, and on the custom dynamics website showed how to sync. wish Harley would let customers know about the sync in instructions. thanks for the video
Will installing after market led signal lights cause the engine light to stay on? That's what seems to have happened to me. I wasn't aware of the fact that you can't use aftermarket led lights until I just saw your video. Mine are in the mirror stems which harley probably doesn't sell.

Finally fixed, I spoke with Eagle lights about codes being sent & fast indicator flashing. They had a Gen 2 version that they sent me for FREE. I had gen 1, That immediately fixed the issue. Thanks for all the suggestions and reading my rambling on.🤓🤓
I have Eagle Lights Gen 2 front signals and they hyperflash. I also have Eagle lights brake lights,headlight and passing lights. They all work fine but the turn signals are a problem. If the hyperflashing doesn’t hurt the leds then I will leave them alone.

Question…I have a 2021 Tri Glide Ultra. I currently leave my Trike on a Battery Tender when the Trike is not being riden. I’ve heard that leaving it on a Tender continuously is not good for the Trike’s electrical system. Can you help me better understand this? Thanks.
In the past the “Tenders” were simple with no electronics to monitor the battery. Our modern Tenders have mini computers that will only charge when needed to keep the battery at optimum performance. Todays Harley have so much electronics that drain the battery that it is almost mandatory to have a tender! Many have reported leaving there bikes in the cold garage for 2-3 weeks and not being able to start….Doc

On my 2011 fatboy LEDs look great, function perfectly, but i keep getting " blown brake light" or "blown turn signal" codes in my ECU. Makes the red security light stay on at all times. Any ideas?
Great video..... I went to the early LED turn signals from harley on my 08 flhtc. Works very well. Just not the newest style. Would love to have the bright white to amber look. Now i have the Daymaker harley light for head and spots. They fog up. Doesnt hurt the output but looks wierd. Heard of any fixes for that?
Great video and great stuff. When I put on custom dynamics saddlebag lights and turn signal eliminator kit, mine acted up at first but I followed custom dynamics instructions for “teaching” them and I haven’t had a problem since. The process Harley gave didn’t work, for the reasons you state in the video. I used the custom dynamics process and they work perfect. But important to note that BCM bikes shouldn’t need any kind of stabilizer as you point out.
Got the Harley led turn signals with halo as running lights and amber as turn signals and look and working great… also led rear lights for break and turn and just work and look great as well…just having custom dynamics “fog” lights put on the mustache front engine guards that are also halo when used as running lights and able to switch to full white spots at night to help keep the road visible… will see(literally haha) how they work when I pick up my bike soon but, anticipate they will work great… too bad Harley does not make a single product….
Installed Harley LED saddlebag filler turn signals on my 2016 Road King to replace the original turn signals. The rear emergency flashers turn off (front continue to work) when you turn off the ignition. EGM programming solution or is it a hard wire fix? Can't fix hyper flashing because of this too. Thanks

I left out I had the ignition off at the handlebars. once the four ways are activated you can turn the bike off. The four ways will continue….my apologies…Doc
Hi doc I'm running the ciro3d LED front turn signals on my 2017 FLHTCU. Love them they add extra white light to the bike. Also I would like to add a security system to my bike since it did not come with one from the factory. Is it possible to install one? What would be the part number? And can I install it myself or must a dealer do it. Thank you in advance for the answer
As you know I only promote what I know. The factory BCM can be activated with security by a dealer. The purchase of a key fob and them to match it to your bike. Also think of a PIN number you will remember just in case you forget the fob…Doc

Hi Doc I love your videos I’m doing a full frame restoration on a 1987 Harley Davidson fxrs and I converted all the turn signals to led I’m running an Badlands turn signal conciliators hard wire by their instructions it the issue I’m having is both of my front turn signals are flashing at the same time when either bottom are press but my rears are working just fine any idea on what it can be would love help please
In 1987 the front turn signals used the mounts for grounds. The rubber handlebars mounts had a ground wire to the frame. The buttons supply the positive. Check your ground….Doc
@@LowCountryHarleyDavidson There’s is grounds there’s is a big ground underneath the frame that goes to transmission and there’s also 2 more grounds next to the rear break resavoir and there’s 2 more grounds in the top 3 triple trees cause my bike comes with the dual speedo you telling me one of them grounds is causing my led turn signals to both flash at the same time?
Harley needs to step up and put LEDs in all of their bikes.

You can reprogram your computer but resetting the bike. Look up video.

AdvanBlack's LED lights took a while, but my 2022 FXLRS learned them. I left the flashers on for about a half hour.

I bought some rear flashers from Harley and I guess I didn't read the instructions. But, they are working just fine. (2014 flhxs)

2018 FXLR, just put aftermarket ones, can't remember the brand (USA) but I was told just plug and play and they'll work proper good. Which they did and I was happy at half thr HD price. BTW, it's the end of 2023 and the non-HD LEDs are still going strong.
ok Doc, I've got a 1991 FLHTCU, when I install the back ones only , my turn signals function correctly, but when I add the front(with halo white and amber turn) I get nothing, they turn on, but do not flash, unless of course I hit the 4-ways, then all flash as there are suppose to do, HELP ME PLEASE..just what do I have to do to get these to function correctly, oh yeah as a side bar I installed a load equalizer on the rear directionals, no help there either same problem..I looked at ever forum, youtube..no one seems to have had this problem on an old ride, but I love my evo and I just need a little assistance here please
I got to ask. Your turn signals were working with the incandescent bulbs?

@@LowCountryHarleyDavidson yes sir, everything worked just peachy, like I said, I installed the back LED's, turned on the key, everything functioned as normal, install a load equalizer, then put in the 1157 LED's for the front..I only get flashing when I hit the 4 way hazards..turn signals light up but they do not blink..then I take out the front 1157's and put the standard incandescent bulbs back in the front and leave the rear LED's in...they all function correctly..I'm at a total loss brother
HOGWORKZ LED replacements work well too.
How about an after market LED 3157 brake strobe/flashing bulb in a 2014 Road King? Getting the b2161 code. Do the same procedure but zip tie the brake lever? Thanks

The details of the new Harley Signature LED turn signals say they won't work on my 2011 Street Glide CVO - is that true? I have Custom Dynamics LEDS in there now and they work fine. Would like to swap them out for the Harley Signature LED signals.
Either HD has not tested this LED on a 2011 or the light is not compatible with the TSM…..Doc

I just changed the turn signals on my 2023 Street Bob for LED and I love them as they are much brighter than the stock incandescent bulbs. Some models offer additional features such as a pulsating mode for the brake lights and a running white light for the front turn signal. The only problem was getting the bulb into the socket (no problem with the incandescent bulb). Harley Davidson should make LED bulbs stick on all their bikes.
I recently had to replace my turn signal module (the red and black box next to the flasher). It was $100 aftermarket and $300 genuine Parts. Still using incandescent bulbs. The aftermarket module is working fine.
Question. Will allowing LEDs to fast flash cause any damage to the electrical system? My theory is that the fast flash is more eye catching, similar to pulsating brake lights. If it catches other driver's attention and causes no damage, is there any reason that I can't run them that way? If someone comments that they look weird, my response will be, "But you saw me, right?" :D
Depends on how new your bike is. After a while the BCM will get annoyed and start flashing the Red dot…..Doc

I run Custom Dynamics front and rear LEDs throughout and have not had any issues on my 20 FLHXS.
I always use Custom Dynamics LED's. I added them on my 2021 Ultra Limited. One day out riding, I got a check engine light. Called my dealership and after checking the coding, they said that I needed my BCM re-flashed. So just rode over to my dealership and they re-flashed it and no issues since.
Rogue Rider Industries for my front and rear turn signals on a 2018 Slim. Just let the emergency flashers run for a minute or two without starting the engine. Then give them a test and usually you’re good. If not repeat the learning process.
My 2023 lowrider st just got Custom dynamic in the front and it blinked correctly from the start.
found out the hard way about this. 21 heritage change out turn signals with regular led bulbs. had the fast flash on turn signal indicator. didn't think much about it. then one day my bike stalled and wouldn't let me start it till about 3 min. happened twice. it was under warranty so I took it in. and found out that it was throwing low voltage codes. after clearing codes and putting back original bulbs, bike ran fine. now I bought Harley led turn signals and had same issues with codes. went on line, and on the custom dynamics website showed how to sync. wish Harley would let customers know about the sync in instructions. thanks for the video

Will installing after market led signal lights cause the engine light to stay on? That's what seems to have happened to me.
I wasn't aware of the fact that you can't use aftermarket led lights until I just saw your video. Mine are in the mirror stems which harley probably doesn't sell.

One of the first thing I changed was removing the incandescent lights. Replaced them with LED! 🏍💨🏍💨

I put Custom Dynamic all over the rear end of my ‘17 Ultra. They work perfectly
I got led on the front of my 09 dyna and 08 street glide and the hyper flashed about 5 tines and just worked normal after that.
I had the same problem with thinking the ball was blowed until I found 8 1/2 Watt bulb works fine and brighter too

Sometimes the turn signal indicators flash fast but not all the time the lights all flash normally

I saw a few of the new ‘24s, STILL halogen turn signals. It’s unacceptable.
Finally fixed, I spoke with Eagle lights about codes being sent & fast indicator flashing. They had a Gen 2 version that they sent me for FREE. I had gen 1, That immediately fixed the issue. Thanks for all the suggestions and reading my rambling on.🤓🤓

I have Eagle Lights Gen 2 front signals and they hyperflash. I also have Eagle lights brake lights,headlight and passing lights. They all work fine but the turn signals are a problem. If the hyperflashing doesn’t hurt the leds then I will leave them alone.

Question…I have a 2021 Tri Glide Ultra. I currently leave my Trike on a Battery Tender when the Trike is not being riden. I’ve heard that leaving it on a Tender continuously is not good for the Trike’s electrical system. Can you help me better understand this? Thanks.
In the past the “Tenders” were simple with no electronics to monitor the battery. Our modern Tenders have mini computers that will only charge when needed to keep the battery at optimum performance. Todays Harley have so much electronics that drain the battery that it is almost mandatory to have a tender! Many have reported leaving there bikes in the cold garage for 2-3 weeks and not being able to start….Doc

On my 2011 fatboy LEDs look great, function perfectly, but i keep getting " blown brake light" or "blown turn signal" codes in my ECU. Makes the red security light stay on at all times. Any ideas?
The brake light has different resistance do the brain thinks CV it’s out which will turn on the red light…..Doc

I went to the early LED turn signals from harley on my 08 flhtc. Works very well. Just not the newest style. Would love to have the bright white to amber look.
Now i have the Daymaker harley light for head and spots. They fog up. Doesnt hurt the output but looks wierd. Heard of any fixes for that?

Great video and great stuff. When I put on custom dynamics saddlebag lights and turn signal eliminator kit, mine acted up at first but I followed custom dynamics instructions for “teaching” them and I haven’t had a problem since. The process Harley gave didn’t work, for the reasons you state in the video. I used the custom dynamics process and they work perfect. But important to note that BCM bikes shouldn’t need any kind of stabilizer as you point out.

Got the Harley led turn signals with halo as running lights and amber as turn signals and look and working great… also led rear lights for break and turn and just work and look great as well…just having custom dynamics “fog” lights put on the mustache front engine guards that are also halo when used as running lights and able to switch to full white spots at night to help keep the road visible… will see(literally haha) how they work when I pick up my bike soon but, anticipate they will work great… too bad Harley does not make a single product….

You can get 6 ohm 50 watt resistors and put one in parallel to each LED if you're working with an older bike.

Installed Harley LED saddlebag filler turn signals on my 2016 Road King to replace the original turn signals. The rear emergency flashers turn off (front continue to work) when you turn off the ignition. EGM programming solution or is it a hard wire fix? Can't fix hyper flashing because of this too. Thanks

Doc! You said turn it on and put on the 4 ways and then you said turn it on again. It was already on! So now what?
I left out I had the ignition off at the handlebars. once the four ways are activated you can turn the bike off. The four ways will continue….my apologies…Doc

Hi doc I'm running the ciro3d LED front turn signals on my 2017 FLHTCU. Love them they add extra white light to the bike.
Also I would like to add a security system to my bike since it did not come with one from the factory. Is it possible to install one? What would be the part number? And can I install it myself or must a dealer do it.

As you know I only promote what I know. The factory BCM can be activated with security by a dealer. The purchase of a key fob and them to match it to your bike. Also think of a PIN number you will remember just in case you forget the fob…Doc

Hi Doc I love your videos I’m doing a full frame restoration on a 1987 Harley Davidson fxrs and I converted all the turn signals to led I’m running an Badlands turn signal conciliators hard wire by their instructions it the issue I’m having is both of my front turn signals are flashing at the same time when either bottom are press but my rears are working just fine any idea on what it can be would love help please
In 1987 the front turn signals used the mounts for grounds. The rubber handlebars mounts had a ground wire to the frame. The buttons supply the positive. Check your ground….Doc

There’s is grounds there’s is a big ground underneath the frame that goes to transmission and there’s also 2 more grounds next to the rear break resavoir and there’s 2 more grounds in the top 3 triple trees cause my bike comes with the dual speedo you telling me one of them grounds is causing my led turn signals to both flash at the same time?
