- After inspecting, installing, and using the Custom Dynamics LED turn signal inserts for Harley, I must say that I was impressed. These LED signal inserts easily install with a plug and play system and replace those dim stock halogen bulbs that Harley uses out of the factory.
You may not get a second chance if you get hit by a car on your motorcycle, so lighting up the front and rear of your bike with better and brighter LED technology just makes sense. These LED inserts are for Harley-Davidson US models with front 1157 dual contact bases and OEM bullet style lens.

Custom Dynamics LED turn signal inserts for Harley are of great quality. The build is very nice and they are weather sealed on the rear and have a rubber gasket for in between the signal housing and lens. You can literally just pop your stock signal lens cover off, remove the halogen bulb, and plug in an LED signal insert.

I installed amber LED rear turn sugnals on my 2020 heritage classic and they work great. They are plugNplay But the OEM gasket inside the housing needed to be trimmed so the lens could fit.
The directions mention and illustrate the possible need for gasket trimming and you guys should mention that gasket trimming too.
I bought the front and rear kit for my 2005 Softail Standard (FXST). I absolutely love the way they look and I feel more visible for safety. I had the Harley Davidson run/brake/turn module for years and re-installed that with the LEDs. It does work with Custom Dynamics LED turn signals and tail light but they were a little too bright with that Harley module. In my opinion there was not enough difference between running and brake light intensity. I solved that problem by removing the HD run/brake/turn module and getting the Custom Dynamics Triple Play module. Now I can not only set the turn signal running intensity to match the tail light intensity, I can also select a choice of 8 different strobe/flash modes for either the tail light only, signals only, or both. It was also easy to install.

I had the flat ones and switched to these, they look awesome with the bezels. The tail lights are like 10 times brighter than the old style. Worth the money.

Got these and the tribeam tail light from them! easy install, however my 2020 road king special did not recognize the lights as running lights initially, only the turn signals were working so i went to ride to the dealership to see if they could reflash. on my way there the red security light came on. turned the bike off outside the dealership, and started it back up again. security light went off and the turn signals and tribar began functioning as running lights as well! amazing look. just next time i will definitely remove the main fuse during installation
Bought the fronts for my 2016 Road glide Ultra at Sturgis this summer. Awesome lights. No regrets.

Running these front and rear on my 2015 Street Glide. Good investment for safety.
I switched my 2015 Road King over to all Custom Dynamics LEDs 2 years ago. Big difference. Money well spent.
I added these all around including brake light on my FXDC about a month ago, what a difference. I had to do some wiring in the rear since I converted to the dual function red ring running/brake and amber turn but it was pretty simple with the provided posi-tap connectors. Highly recommend.
Mine don’t work as running lights, what did you do to the wires?
@@soonwillmoon4479 I'm pretty sure I had to splice some wires. Everything was there it just wasn't plug and play. If I remember correctly I just followed the install instructions from Custom Dynamics. Unfortunately I sold the bike about a month after this post.

Just installed them on a 2020 street glide. The rear lights were a problem! I had to remove the seal that came with the lights in order to have the covers stay on . Front 2 no trouble at all.

I had the
Rogue Rider Industries SigZ LED Turn Signals, but these are brighter with no blue tint. These match the color of the Fat Bob LED headlight better and throw a better beam on both white running and orange signal.
I've the head/tail lights and magic strobes. I do a lot of night riding and they're definitely life savers!
great video ryan. Just as a afterthought, i recently got pulled over by a department of transport cop here in canada, and he told me to get those front signal lights off my bike as they were illegal. I told him i wanted to be seen by cages but i was wasting my time talking to him. He also told me to remove my pia driving lights installed on the lower part of my engine guards on my ultra classic. I am going to keep them all, and will challenge it in court if ticketed. Keep bringing the great videos brother. much appreciated.

Thanks for your insights and professionalism which has I'm sure years of hard work, ive got a 2003 fat boy that someone did a front led wrap aroind the forks for turn and running lights, they ran the wires all the way back to hook up into a custom dynamics blue flat modular , it has a relocated licence plate with brake light on it, every thing works except my let them signal, the right turn works front and back, running light, hazard flasher works but left back you can barely see it flashing likes it not getting ennogh power, I'd appricate any suggestion in the time youve probably seen this kind of mess with back yard work, thank you for your time, Mike

For any 2019 sport glide, make sure they don't give you the inncorrect set. This model has pre-installed factory led's. Not sure if this accounts for 2018 and 2020 models as well.

Hey Ryan. I have a set installed on my 22 street bob. The turn signals themselves flash at the normal speed but the dash indicator is going faster. I saw dome videos to use your 4 ways to correct this although it didn't change it. The manufacturer said as long as the signals themselves are flashing at the correct pace it's normal foe the dash to be faster. Any insight on this? Thanks!
On a 2020 softail standard do you have to run a code for the new led to sink?
3:32 what do you do if your bike you bought was already partly customized and has the same type of lights as the GEN180CLUSTER with hardwire connection in your housing. If i were to remove those and use these you show in the video (which i want to) i would not be able to instal them because the inner part where the halogen bulb and the connection of the LED lights in the video is missing from my bike.
Could i get those original parts somewhere?

Don't know if anyone else has run into this but one of my lights didn't work out of the box. Contacted Custom Dynamics and they wouldn't send out a new one until I bought a $8 test battery, did 2 hours of troubleshooting, and sent videos and pictures to prove I did it correctly. I love the lights and they are a huge safety improvement over stock but not sure I want to do business with them again.
Mine won’t work as running lights, just for turning signals and break lights 🤔
After installing the kit on my ^19 road glide, the rear turn signals is not activating. I troubleshoot it with the old bulbs and it worked just fine.
led bulbs are polarity specific. If they do not work, just remove and rotate 180 degrees and voilah!

Custom Dynamics makes an amazing product and definitely worth the money. Lighting is a very important part of staying seen and safe on a motorcycle IMHO. Harley charges a premium price for their bikes and gives you an inferior lighting product. They don't put full LED lighting on their bikes so they can gouge you some more when you have to buy LED signals and rear brake light. It's really sad. Almost every other competitor to their touring bikes offers All LED lighting for less money then the equivalent Harley. That's Indian, Honda (Goldwing), Yamaha (Star Venture) and the list goes on. Not only that but these other bikes also offer you Power windshields, Traction control, Driving Modes, Electronic Suspension (Every other manufacturer has more rear suspension travel then the equivalent Harley), Cornering ABS with Bosch IMU, Heated Seats and a Reverse +- Forward walking gear for easy parking just to name a few things. And you get all of this for less money then the equivalent Harley. Harley Davidson better step up its game or their sales will continue to slide, slide, slide. 5 years ago they sold 320,000 motorcycles and in 2018 they sold 228,051. Thats a 29% drop in world wide sales in just 5 years. I do like Harley davidson bikes, but there really doing a lot of stupid things with the company that will prevent me from spending my hard earned money on their product. Stuff like trying to get 2 million new riders over the next 10 years by introducing new bike models that Start in Price at $30,000-$40,000 in Canada. Thats the FXDR 114 ($26,499 + freight/PDI and Tax) and Project Livewire ($37,250 + freight/PDI and Tax). Do you honestly think that a new rider who just passed their MSF course is going to spend $30,000-$40,000 on their first motorcycle?? The next bike out from Harley will be the Pan American Adventure. There is no way that will sell for less then $35,000. Anyways, I digress. Harley davidson could have so much potential going into the future but they are continuing to piss it away. It's unfortunate. I like your videos, keep up the good work.
Ryan. I just bought a custom dynamics pro beam and installed it on to my 2018 softail street bob. For some reason, the right turn signal does not work. When the bike is on, the left rear light doesnt have the same light as the one on right. How do I get it to work?

After installing frt and rear light kit, my voltage gauge fluctuates from 14V to almost the red. Any ideas?
No, LEDs draw less power than halogen bulbs. Did you check with the original lights in?
I'm having a problem with my lenses not staying on. They come off with an easy pull with my bare hands. Only on my rears. Don't understand why
You need to trim the gasket inside the housing. After you trim the gasket push it in with a flat head screwdriver. Thats the only way the lens correctly stays on. It sucks but its the only way. Take your time to trim and snug neatly.
Hey Ryan, how do these compare to the Ciro3D Fang lights you installed/reviewed?
We like both. We sell the Ciro Fangs in our store. Love them. Custom Dynamics good too. We don't sell them. Depends on the look you want. Fangs have a particular style. Customs look like stock, but LED> each bikers personal preference.
I want these for a HD 2010 street glide but I need the whole light not just the bulbs ..... took off signals years ago and my turn signals are built into head light. Now I want to go back to full independent turn signals. Can you tell me what I need to buy?

Hello Ryan....I have a 2012 Street Glide that I purchased the Custom Dynamics Bag Blade lights for....They told me I needed a signal stabilizer along with the Bag Blades so I ordered it as well.....Do I daisy chain these together under the seat or under the side cover....Thanks Mike
Sorry I also ordered and received the led turn lights as well along with the Bag Lights
In Europe we have 1156 bulbs (1 contact). US models use 1157 bulbs (2 contacts). So impossible to have running lights installed.
Not impossible but not plug and play. You just have to run an extra wire and potentially change to a 1157 bulb holder which you need to order from the the US or as a special order from your local Harley Dealer. Basically you need to wire up a new harness with an extra pin in the connector to do it properly and make it like a US bike.

While the LED strip lights on various parts let you be seen and tecnically are illegal... Wouldnt it make sense to have the led strip lights tied into turn signals and brake lights so the light up when you use em?...
What im getting at is this..
Led strips lights on the Left Side would flash when the Left turn signal applied, so the whole left side of the bike would illuminate in amber. And Vice Versa the Right.
And the whole rear would Hyper Flash when Braking? Id rather be seen and hafta to explain to the judge why, instead of becoming a bit of road paint.

Hey Ryan. Couple weeks ago I changed the stock bulbs(2018 XL1200C) to Custom Dynamic LEDs. Dealer sold me the parts. Have a question on the rear. The 1156 LEDs are Red. Inside the Amber cover. They look a little orange. Should I get the Clear covers? Or Red? Another thing. HD sells the Module that uses the rear turn signals as Brake lights. Does that work with the LED? Thank you

Anyone else have a tough time with pushing back the gasket on the front? It looks like everything is good, but the lens cover doesn’t really want to seat completely
Had the same issue with my fronts. 1200 miles later the left fell out and the led ripped off the wires. So make sure you get it in right. I cracked both lenses on my front. Don't get in a hurry.
Yes i did. The only way the gasket sit tight and correct was to trim the gasket inside the housing and push it in. I didnt like cutting and snugging the gasket but figured that LED lights should last a lifetime so its one and done.
If your bike is 2014 or newer the Custom Dynamics LED turn signals are plug in play, but if you have a 2013 or older bike you'll need a load equalizer or their smart signal stabilizer so you won't get the flashing turn signals.

Anyone else get error codes once installing these? Low voltage issue it seems. Have cleared them but come right back.
Follow up to this issue: called ProBeam. Tech spent almost an hour on the phone with me going through all kinds of possible issues. In the end, turns out, there was just too much grease in the socket from the OEM bulbs. These low voltage lights should be very clean from the dialectic grease. Note: harley puts a great deal in there. Took a plastic tool and shop rag. Cleaned it out good. Cleared the codes and all good. Thanks ProBeam!!!
how about info on installing load equalizer
Each product is different. You'll have to go to their page to find out if you need one

It depends on the year and model of your bike. Newer Harleys do not need load equalizers.

@@customdynamics seems that my tail lights are different that has two bulbs inside one Amber sits on the side and the red in the middle. And the lens can't be removed.

@@xbx2207 For the rear turn signals, because you have the International model where there is a Red portion acts as run/brake and the Amber portion (separate) functions as turn signal, we unfortunately don't have a direct fitment option available. While we don't have a direct replacement option available, we do have Universal LED Strips as well as complete unit LED turn signal assemblies (Billet Bullets) which could be used in a custom application on your bike! If you're interested in doing something a little more custom, we'd be happy to review product/application details with you! Why is it that no one makes a LED bulb for the rear lights on a TRIKE. To get them you have to buy the entire tail light assembly.

Well, I suck. I couldn't even accomplish this task without an issue. The light and assembly keep popping off.
Thanks! Kept seeing them displayed but now I'm going to buy some. Folks can argue all they want about right of way but not going to help you much if soccer mom (being the worse offenders) on her cell phone runs over you. Anything to catch their attention is better than being laid up or dead. Ride safe.

My iron 883 2015 does not have running lights originally... I do live in norway, so i theres a difference between US and EU models i guess.
So i didnt get the running lights, but the turn signals look sweet... :P
You can get the running lights working if you tap into your park light wire on your headlamp. Not too hard.

yah, you can. Some do, some don't. Funny is that the instructions don't say you need to use any and it's not provided. On other brand LED kits it's provided and recommended. We leave that to the installer. Thx for watching.
@@RyanUrlacher Yeah I swear by it Ryan, have an 89 heritage softail with the original light sockets... Bought the bike brand new and has 89k miles on it and always used grease and plug sockets look like day one. Great videos man, stay safe!
How much dielectric grease needs to be applied? Just enough for contacts? Or enough to coat the bottom of contacts and on the sides of the contact inserts just above notch pins to keep water/moisture out?
I know to much looses polarity.

just spent a little over 500.00 for the the turn signal leds front and
rear the fender tip leds and the triple play from custom dynamics , Was going to order the
headlight and passing leds for 900.00, but when I got my 500.00 order I
was shocked to of paid 500.00 for MADE IN CHINA and TAIWAN CRAP....I
was positive for this outrageous price I was getting good Made in the
USA products.

I installed custom dynamics led blinker lights front and back on my 2018 street glide special front ones already going bad for the money I spent I think they should last more than 2 years oh well I'm using cheaper brands now .
