Saw this video on the RUclips Home page before I even got the notification about the update! Hilarious how excited the community is about this, what a great video thank you for the tour!
So in my day job I use Notion as a CRM. My manager has full access to it (because they pay the license) and has at times clicked on a formula and made it stop working. The ability to stow those away without limiting access is awesome.
Thank you Danny for teaching us this great update. I have been learning a lot by watching you specially in my projects using notion. More power to you.
Guys, seriously, when API is out I promise u will hear about a crazy party in Vienna :)))). Still, functionalities announced today are awesome. Love it.
I always love a Notion update. You certainly could. The hour view is different from traditional timeblocking so I think the weekly view would be my preference.
Great video, i just start using those features...By the way, when do you think will notion release different views in calendar (weekly, days...) without tricky formulas?
Hey Danny! Thank you for your videos, I have learned a lot from those! Do you if it is possible to a formula date include the end time too? (Not just the hour it started)
Glad you are finding the videos useful. If you are referring to a formula property you can only have 1 output so for a start and end date you would need 2 formula properties or a date property.
@@DannyHatcherTech Thank you for the reply! My idea is to create a fully time blocking calendar in notion, without having to do some updates each other day! But haha for now I put an event that recur every week, so I created the start date (date property) and some other properties to tell that I want it next week , but it doesnt show the end hour of the event(formula property) called Updated date
@@ettorexanderalmeida1456 timeblocking with the new timeline view can be done in lots of different ways. It would be good to see what you come up with!
I agree! Hiding properties has been big for me. I will doing a stream at the weekend about the timeline view and other database views from my perspective. 😁
Project management is needing a timeline view, a Gant chart (timeline) is crucial in projects such building sites, art projects etc. with deliverables that need to coordinate. Having this in Notion now is such a bonus. Previously seriously large scale project management wasn't possible in Notion.
Does this custamization of a page in a database affect the whole database? So if I hide one specific property for a page, will this property be hidden in every page of a database? And thanks for your videos, they are great and make me feel being the "lucky one" who has discovered "this thing in life" - Notion and you - making a huge positive impact to me
AAA yay, you read my mind. Or maybe RUclips did 🤔 Anyway great video. Great updates. I need to do some Gantt stuffs and hide most of my properties 😅 Quick question, does Notion or can Notion differentiate a task that is a milestone or a task with long duration?
aha probably a trending topic in the Notion RUclips space... Yeah I have hidden SO many properties. When you say differentiate I am not sure what you mean. If you are using the same date property so it has a start and end you can filter for it. It depends what you are looking for.
@@DannyHatcherTech hmmm I am looking more of a pin. Just a nice little pin on a date without any start or end date. So it's like marking the deadline/end of phase 1,2,3 or the end of the project.
I don't use any extenstion to Notion incase it interferes with native updates. If you are struggling to get the database to work I would suggest reaching out to Notion help via the ? button bottom right of your Notion.

Yeah, RUclips notifications can be ... questionable aha. Hiding properties is the big thing for me but the timeline view is really nice.
Amazing video Danny! I feel excited because you're excited!
Thanks! Every video is exciting. I am glad that is coming off when watching 😁
Nice thanks for the great Notion update breakdown Danny. Liking the thumbnail look on this vid too. 👊
Always happy to share Notion. Thanks, I am trying to experiment a bit now I have some time to work on RUclips aha. We will see what the data says.
Amazing update, lots of exciting new features!
100% with you. Loads of things added that I didn't mention as well. So many small things...

There are so many benefits to hiding properties!!
For me, just not having to explain what they all mean to people will save so much time aha.
😊

Thanks Hush, I am glad the videos are helpful!
@@DannyHatcherTech Yes they truly are. I am currently looking at my workspace to apply what I've learned from you. Looking forward to your next one.
This amazing ..
hope API for the next update
I agree!!! Been loving the ability to hide properties.
Lets focus on this one 😁🤐
Guys, seriously, when API is out I promise u will hear about a crazy party in Vienna :)))). Still, functionalities announced today are awesome. Love it.
Yeeess. I currently split my life between notion and outlook cal, but no longer!
Ah I do love what they have done! I am curious, is it the different views the timeline has that has moved you over?
LOVED THE VIDEO AND I LOVE THE UPDATE!!! Could you use this for time blocking?
I always love a Notion update. You certainly could. The hour view is different from traditional timeblocking so I think the weekly view would be my preference.
@@DannyHatcherTech yeah the weekly view sounds super cool too!
Thank you, It's really useful!

Thanks DH
no problem, happy to help where I can 😁
Great video, i just start using those features...By the way, when do you think will notion release different views in calendar (weekly, days...) without tricky formulas?
Thanks. I am not sure that is their focus right now, especially as the timeline has a weekly and daily view in it.
Man you're fast
haha, been keeping 🤐
This stuff just fascinates me.
Same! There are so many things about this app and others similar that are just so intriguing, and obviously fun to work with.

Yes, the settings you put in a database apply to every page in the database.

the notion is a software name?
Yes, Notion is the name of an application 😁
OMG ... I got to see this one happening
This update is so good. I like the Hide properties the best but the timeline view is really nice for longer projects.
@@DannyHatcherTech Agreed. When API is out I can stop using other tools like ClickUp or Monday
It is not a Gantt chart if it does not have properties!
I am not sure what you mean. You can use properties on the table view or the timeline view?
First!!
😳
Well I was here first 😉 but I will give it to you, that was quick aha.
Been hiding properties all over the place! aha
