I do think it's dumb how you get super with no rings and don't lose any. Like at that point, just let the game play itself, the difficulty level is about as high as the Death Egg at the end of the 2nd game...
The only thing that would have made the boss rush cooler was if the player could fight Knuckles’ MGZ2 boss before Sonic’s and the Super Mecha Sonic Mk. II fight before transitioning to the Death Egg bosses, but that’s just me
