I noticed that during wing fortress's pinch mode, the airship gradually lowers down, as evident by the island in the background. It reminds of how during knuckles' final boss in sonic and knuckles, you can see angel island in the background slowly get lower to the ground.
Man this looks incredibly real. Amazing work. The Oil Ocean boss legitimately scared me when I saw 2 lasers come out the ocean. And I was even more in fear when I saw the laser shoot diagonally upward. I might lose a couple lives if I played a game with that kind of boss.

I like how these pinch modes seem to ramp up in both difficulty and extravagance as you progress through the game. If this could be a real ROM hack, I would surely give it a try. Heck, I feel like it would have been easier to make one.
They should make Origins have a pinch mode option. Just to add to the difficulty of getting ALL achievements. And make completing the pinch mode have a silver to gold medal.
Mystic Cave boss is my favorite in that animation. To be honest, whole animation look really like a game. Only one thing told me that it's not a game. 7:08 Sonic was damaged, but rings disappeared right away... and that shouldn't happen in a game. I know it was supposed to make us nervous, but it also happened to be one and only thing that kind of ruined the brilliant immersion of this animation. Still, great job.

The way the bosses change tactics in this video after several hits is also like how the bosses in Sonic 4: Episode 1 worked.
Wouldn't say that. If he actualy did he would have used much bigger and stronger weaponry. Like its a dumb example but like metal Sonic is a great example. I think some of the bosses in Sonic forces as well, had some big robots that Could be more of a challenge then these tiny contraptions. Eggman must be just playing with sonic. No way someone with such a high intelligence is beatem that easily. I mean, he doesn't stop, even after being beaten dozens of times. Its almost a game to him. Tho he gets frustrated cuz he never wins said game

I legit wish this was a thing in the actual game! These are so on point! Kinda disappointed that there was no final boss pinch mode, but I imagine it would've had something to do with Sonic becoming super and having to fight Eggman while soaring through outer space, similar to Doomsday Zone.
NO RINGS AHH! And I'm not sure if it's because I made it there with knuckles or because the ds version is different, but I can't actually damage the robot by jumping into him. I can only do it by jumping at a precise spot under him, or landing ON TOP OF the spike hands as he attacks with them!

With following you for around 1 and a half years. Im glad to say youve improved alot. I could barely even point out moments when this was not realistic in the sonic 2 engine. This couldve been in the game and i wouldve not noticed :D.
Triangly I have to say that you did an excellent job on the wing fortress boss, and that includes the whole airship falling down, like it's going to crash and the island enters the screen and anyone never gets to see the island itself except in the main menu, again excellent job, thank you so much for this amazing animation.
To be honest, I never saw someone recreate Sonic 2's animations/physics so accordingly. I mean, come on, Sonic rolls faster when jumping after running than when he does when he is idle ! Did anyone ever noticed that ?

Cool fact : some bosses in pinch mode has references to sonic 1 , but oil ocean boss in pinch mode has some references on sonic mania , and music from sonic advance 2 ( maybe )
I love how real the gameplay looks. You could easily mistake this video for a recording of an actual playable version of Sonic 2 with widescreen, a boss attack mode, and pinch modes for all the bosses!

Well realistically Tails does die this much when you play the game so I see this more as something done to make it feel real rather than be insulting. Especially seeing that Tails was useful during the Oil Ocean boss.
Pinches for Mecha Sonic Mk 1 and DER: Mecha Sonic Mk 1 gains a faster spindash and can jump while spindashing. for balance reasons, you get 3 rings in between these bosses the DER gets all of the following: 1 extra Egg Bomb every wave every landing impact from a jump spawns 2 Badniks from a specific pool if them the arms pull you towards them where and when they land Eggman now can do a smaller jump that only stuns sonic if he's grounded when the mech lands.
I wanted to nitpick a few things, but instead, I'm going to say great job as this likely took a very long time to do in such great quality. Also nice sandwich at the end, a Patafoin reference I presume?

Just noticed this comment, thank you for this pretty feedback :) I have some progress done on Pinch Mode 3 but I don’t think I will ever finish it. It just takes way too much time to animate the gameplay I’d rather reverse-engineered the original bosses code and made a fan game

the way tails move is too accurate, but if Tails could hit eggman like he does in the actual game would make extremely more accurate (Also if tails could also hit him the fight would go to pinch mode quicker...)
If hidden palace boss had more pinch to it: Pinch Mode: Robotnik would activate his trumpet and launch sonic and tails in the air but tails would catch sonic if he falls down Eggman would launch spike balls from hidden palace fight and sonic and tails must fly before they get hit. Ending: docter robotnik’s machine would explode and tails and sonic would fly to oil ocean Knuckles part: Docter Robotnik would activate water filling the screen while he bounces in the water with a spring, Knuckles must defeat him before he drowns Ending for knuckles: Doctor Eggman’s machine breaks opening a pathway for knuckles so he can run into oil ocean

Sonic 4 Ep 1 had the same thing, where the boss started as a copy of a similar thing from the SEGA genesis, but by the time half of its health is gone, it changes attack strategy.

I've never seen a Sonic animation so accurate to the games in my entire life... like, holy shit. i can't tell if this is a Rom hack or not. and i love that little West Island background in the Wing Fortress pinch... it just looks so great.

These are SO well done - totally believable as bosses that could have existed in the game, and they actually look balanced and fun to fight rather than just being over-the-top hard. Would love to see a Sonic 3 version at some point!
I love the mini blue variation of Robotniks balloon double in Metropolis. A thought for that second phase, the rockets could shoot bursts of fire to discourage getting close too often
Pinch mode idea for Sonic CD Palm tree panic pinched : Eggman grabs a Bumper from the bottom and bouncers around Collision chaos pinched : Eggmn pushes you back down and he has faster firing speed Tidal tempest pinched : Some of his bubbles will have spikes in it and it will hurt you Quart quadrant Pinched : IDK extra obstacles or Faster conveyer speed? Wacky warbench pinched : eggman will Try to body rush into you ( He has a front spike on the machine ) Star dust speedway Pinched : Eggman revives metal and the floor falls and you haft to fight him Metallic madness pinched : That unused final fever boss that got scrap These are just my ideas But I do hope you use one of them
Imma add in a little more or make some changes to bosses. Plamtree Panic pinched: After hitting the doctor once in his 2nd phase, Eggman will shoot up into the sky and will try to land on Sonic, based on that one attack from Sonic 2's Death Egg robot boss. Collision Chaos pinched: Just as Sonic was about to destroy the flower container, it turns out to be a fake and blows up on him and he will be put into to the 2nd phase, the doctor will dispense bombs rapidly one by one, after 12 bomb drops he will go low enough for Sonic to hit him once, then the doctor will high into the sky where Sonic could hit not him, and then rinse and repeat until the doctor is defeated. And the boss would work a little like Marble zone's boss, and no, you wouldn't be pushed back into the pinball area. Tidal Tempest pinched: Eggman would retreat like usual, but unlike the original when the water retreats too it'll stay instead, Sonic will transition to the next room, and Eggman will just reuse the game gear Sonic 1 labyrinth zone boss, the only difference is that there are 2 air bubble leaks will be beside the bottomless pit so that Sonic could refill his lungs. Quartz Quadrant pinched: Reusing the final boss from Sonic 1, and also blocking the flower capsule entrance by adding in another wall entrance. Wacky Workbench pinched: Eggman will also don an electric force filed and will just eject the electric balls after a few seconds, and cheesing the these force field earlier. And all of these bosses I mentioned will regain/gain 4 hits from their first phase, and for the final boss you would need to spindash into the hands to project into Eggman 6 times when they're on the ground. Besides that, nice work tho.

Triangly I have to say that you did an excellent job on the wing fortress boss, and that includes the whole airship falling down, like it's going to crash and the island enters the screen and anyone never gets to see the island itself except in the main menu, again excellent job, thank you so much for this amazing animation.

Cool fact : some bosses in pinch mode has references to sonic 1 , but oil ocean boss in pinch mode has some references on sonic mania , and music from sonic advance 2 ( maybe )
I love how real the gameplay looks. You could easily mistake this video for a recording of an actual playable version of Sonic 2 with widescreen, a boss attack mode, and pinch modes for all the bosses!

If you really want to know what Death Egg Zone's Pinch Mode would be, just imagine something similar to Sonic 4: Episode 1's Death Egg Robot Phase 2.

Well realistically Tails does die this much when you play the game so I see this more as something done to make it feel real rather than be insulting. Especially seeing that Tails was useful during the Oil Ocean boss.

The Metropolis Zone Boss pinch mode kinda reminds me of the Mad Gear Zone boss from Sonic 4 Episode 1

Pinches for Mecha Sonic Mk 1 and DER:
Mecha Sonic Mk 1 gains a faster spindash and can jump while spindashing.
for balance reasons, you get 3 rings in between these bosses
the DER gets all of the following:
1 extra Egg Bomb every wave
every landing impact from a jump spawns 2 Badniks from a specific pool if them
the arms pull you towards them where and when they land
Eggman now can do a smaller jump that only stuns sonic if he's grounded when the mech lands.
These were really well done and thought out. They look legit. That Mystic Cave one was way past cool and my favorite!
I wanted to nitpick a few things, but instead, I'm going to say great job as this likely took a very long time to do in such great quality. Also nice sandwich at the end, a Patafoin reference I presume?

the way tails move is too accurate, but if Tails could hit eggman like he does in the actual game would make extremely more accurate

If hidden palace boss had more pinch to it: Pinch Mode: Robotnik would activate his trumpet and launch sonic and tails in the air but tails would catch sonic if he falls down Eggman would launch spike balls from hidden palace fight and sonic and tails must fly before they get hit. Ending: docter robotnik’s machine would explode and tails and sonic would fly to oil ocean Knuckles part: Docter Robotnik would activate water filling the screen while he bounces in the water with a spring, Knuckles must defeat him before he drowns Ending for knuckles: Doctor Eggman’s machine breaks opening a pathway for knuckles so he can run into oil ocean

i think it was called egg reverie pinch mode although i think the pinch was the music not a mode in the game
It's actually a reference to Sonic Advance 2. That game had pinch mode for the bosses. The video even uses the music from it.
Sonic 4 Ep 1 had the same thing, where the boss started as a copy of a similar thing from the SEGA genesis, but by the time half of its health is gone, it changes attack strategy.

These are SO well done - totally believable as bosses that could have existed in the game, and they actually look balanced and fun to fight rather than just being over-the-top hard. Would love to see a Sonic 3 version at some point!

I love the mini blue variation of Robotniks balloon double in Metropolis. A thought for that second phase, the rockets could shoot bursts of fire to discourage getting close too often

Palm tree panic pinched : Eggman grabs a Bumper from the bottom and bouncers around
Collision chaos pinched : Eggmn pushes you back down and he has faster firing speed
Tidal tempest pinched : Some of his bubbles will have spikes in it and it will hurt you
Quart quadrant Pinched : IDK extra obstacles or Faster conveyer speed?
Wacky warbench pinched : eggman will Try to body rush into you ( He has a front spike on the machine )
Star dust speedway Pinched : Eggman revives metal and the floor falls and you haft to fight him
Metallic madness pinched : That unused final fever boss that got scrap
These are just my ideas But I do hope you use one of them
Imma add in a little more or make some changes to bosses.
Plamtree Panic pinched: After hitting the doctor once in his 2nd phase, Eggman will shoot up into the sky and will try to land on Sonic, based on that one attack from Sonic 2's Death Egg robot boss.
Collision Chaos pinched: Just as Sonic was about to destroy the flower container, it turns out to be a fake and blows up on him and he will be put into to the 2nd phase, the doctor will dispense bombs rapidly one by one, after 12 bomb drops he will go low enough for Sonic to hit him once, then the doctor will high into the sky where Sonic could hit not him, and then rinse and repeat until the doctor is defeated. And the boss would work a little like Marble zone's boss, and no, you wouldn't be pushed back into the pinball area.
Tidal Tempest pinched: Eggman would retreat like usual, but unlike the original when the water retreats too it'll stay instead, Sonic will transition to the next room, and Eggman will just reuse the game gear Sonic 1 labyrinth zone boss, the only difference is that there are 2 air bubble leaks will be beside the bottomless pit so that Sonic could refill his lungs.
Quartz Quadrant pinched: Reusing the final boss from Sonic 1, and also blocking the flower capsule entrance by adding in another wall entrance.
Wacky Workbench pinched: Eggman will also don an electric force filed and will just eject the electric balls after a few seconds, and cheesing the these force field earlier.
And all of these bosses I mentioned will regain/gain 4 hits from their first phase, and for the final boss you would need to spindash into the hands to project into Eggman 6 times when they're on the ground.
Besides that, nice work tho.
