Tilde made ONE upset to get 3rd. I really wanna say this event helped him, but with his only notable win being Kurama, I don’t think it’ll count much.
I still think Tilde worked very hard. Getting 3rd at a super Major is hard no matter what, but Tilde was undoubtedly helped out by BigDuckHuntFan beating Tweek

The fact that people are still surprised by Zomba defeating a top Aegis player at this point is crazy to me, as he did get a runback againts Shutton's Aegis which from my POV and to be fair, most of the world, is the current best Aegis Player.
In BoBC5 after Zomba defeated MkLeo's Aegis, he got his ass handed down to him by shutton and then dismantled him in the runback at Crown 3.
By this point, it is very clear that Zomba knows the Aegis matchup back and forth and Sparg0, who plays a very impressive Aegis, it's still a very "Cloud-like" Aegis which is higly exploitable, specially if you compare it to Shutton's
I also want to mention that while I am a Sonic hater because how campy he usually is played, I've always liked KEN because he's not afraid to play super aggressive and I had this feeling in the back of my head that if Sonix, the guy who knows the character the best and has the best reaction times, decides to stop camping, he would be one of the hypest players to watch and the set vs Zomba confirmed this to me, no matter how much I can hate the character, the way he played Sonic against Zomba was incredible to watch, I almost skipped the match entirely but for some reason decided to stay and boy was I glad I did, it seems to me that a Sonic player at peak, is probably unstoppable if he decides to hunt you down so hard that you can't even breath.
yeah i think what makes sonix the best sonic is his mix of aggression and camping is the best of any sonic, he'll play patient like every sonic does, but unlike any sonic, sonix will hit u and do 80 which is insane, hes the only sonic with that insane explosive factor
I think Riddles' game 5 sets were tougher than Tweek's sets, mainly because Riddles is more into SF6 than Ultimate, and the people he had to face aren't as good as Dabuz, but definitely more challenging in terms of numbers
Kameme is absolutely better than Dabuz.

Q: Why the FRICK did you post this so late?!
A: This is not the usual time I am going to post. This video was actually done around seven hours ago. But due to complications on RUclips's end and my Thumbnail artist not actually being home from GOML yet, there was some delay. This should only happen once in a blue moon, and is also a consequence of my new upload schedule being implemented so quickly.
Q: You Have a new Upload Schedule?
A: Yeah, I released a whole Google Doc about it. TL;DR, I'm making a video every weekday (Monday through Friday) from here on out.
Q: Why didn't you mention Orange at ALL?
A: Long story short, I was playing it safe. I've seen and heard a lot of things, and at first it seemed like a general consensus, until it wasn't. It's not really my job to do dirt digging but from what I'd seen, I just decided to play it safe this time and choose a middle ground.
Q: What's with your music choices? Aren't you spoiling the outcomes of the sets?
A: All I'm trying to do with my music choices is pick a song from a series that one of the characters in the set is from. For example, when Tilde and Sonix were fighting, I had the choice of either picking a Star Fox song or a Sonic song. There were some characters where this was impossible, the two in this video being Rob (who has no music) and Cloud (who would get me copyrighted SO FAST if I used any of his music). As for the 'spoiling the outcome of the set' thing, if you noticed, a lot of times, the music wasn't even from the character who won that set. I'm going to keep you all on your toes, so NO, a song from a certain series playing does NOT mean that the character from the same series will win the set I'm making a montage for.
Q: What're your plans for the rest of this week?
A: Well, I'm making 4 other videos this week. I'm gonna make one on Riddles at GOML, like I said in the video, and I also plan on making videos on Back In Blood 7, Ace High, and Ultcore. Look out for those in the coming week.

Can we just take a moment to acknowledge orange keeping riddles on the back foot for the entire set, even if it didn’t pan out well, I look forward to see their improvement in future tournaments
I'm happy for Sonix's win. My one issue with it is that my favourite player is Riddles and in my top ten list i always have Riddles and Sonix as my 7th and 8th spot respectively, and i want to see Riddles as high as possible, but i have to admit this tournament dose put Sonix over Riddles for me, at lest for the first half of the year. I would also say that Riddles's losers run is more repressive that Tweek's, but both were amazing. Acola is still number 1.
i would say that tweeks losers run is more impressive purely because this is his first tournament suffering with the hand condition tendonitis and he still made it all the way to top 8, with the physically demanding character diddy kong aswell.

@@RisterMice i havent seen anything but i assume he will be getting treatment. Although for hand conditions it isnt really all that simple.
The thing is, if Acola had been there, he probably would have gotten third, losing to Sonix in winners finals and then Sparg0 on the losers side.

Open Your Heart is from 1998's Sonic Adventure, Smash Ultimate only features a cut version of it.
And since I used the cut version from the smash ult ost, that's the one I credited.
I do that for basically most song I use because I know there are differences between smash versions and original versions.

It was not everything we could've asked for. They made some really weird decisions regarding what sets to stream. A lot o stuff that shouldve been streamed was not. Smash needs to take itself seriously as a spectator sport. We got neither Tweek vs DHD nor Capitancito vs Leo on stream. As a viewer day 2 was infuriating. What the hell was going on?
Bro what are you talking about LOL. Smash players always jump to conclusions. The stream glitched, wasn't their fault just an unlucky occurrence. They didn't CHOOSE anything
@@jaydenhohman2590 nonsense, they shouldve improvised then, they were streaming other sets so why would they not have been able to stream the ones people wanted to see? like why not have the sets people really wanted to see on the working setups then?
if the smash scene wants to stay alive it needs to take itself serious as a spectator sport, it's not just the economy, it's also the fact that viewership retention is poor because watching tournaments is oftenttimes frustrating and underwhelming due to various issues such as the sets that people most want to see not getting streamed, or frequent breaks of indeterminable length
I really like how the goml stream did not have long breaks after every two sets or so which a lot of other tourneys have, despite the other issues that was really nice
also not a fan off mixing melee and ultimate on the squad stream though, mixing melee and ultimate like that is a bad thing that needs to stop in general, it just leaves both the melee and the ultimate crowd feeling frustrated, some people want to watch both but the vast majority tune in for one or the other
it's such a waste going through all the hard work and trouble involved in setting up a wonderful event like goml only to partly squander it for the viewers
People need to stop saying Aegis is easy to win. You can clearly tell it’s not. 👍🏽
Tilde versus Sonix was interesting to me because I believe, tilde could have easily won. Spindash loses to transient hitboxes. Falco laser is transient. Sonix can't run around and camp without spindash. I think sonic will lose heavy versus characters with fast, uncontestable projectiles, once people figure that fact out. With wolf it's arguably worse because it does more damage and is a bigger, more easy to hit projectile.
Sonic is not a robot, that guy is really good, I don't think tilde is easily beating him anytime soon
I know you think you can conditioning him, but your 3% lasers won't condition a guy who's just waiting to get in and deal 50%. Sonic's recovery is way better, too. Falco is outclassed as a character

Depends on what you're looking for. In terms of getting custom built stuff and whatnot, I bought a Phob from Geekiie on Twitter and I've never had an issue for about a year now.
But lowkey, a Box controller will never fail you, is better for certain characters, and is similar to controllers for other fighting games.
But if Ultimate is your first smash game, you can't go wrong with a Pro Controller.
Tl;Dr, they're all good, and if you're just a local player starting out, I wouldn't drop 500 dollars on a modded phob or something like that

Wanted to preface this saying this was an amazing coverage video, as always. However, you sort of spoiled Grands and possibly even the results through you're commentary of Sonix vs MkLeo. Wanted to point this out, as I was pretty much able to guess the rest of Loser's bracket prettt easily afterwards.
The only thing GOML was missing was an exciting grand finals. Sonic will always be boring to watch
