After Allen Woody passed, Gov't Mule did a cool project where they had all sorts of Bass players sit in with the band, called "The Deep End". Everyone from Jason Newstead from Metallica to Oteill Burbage from Dead and Co. to David Smalls from Widespread Panic, and about fifteen others. They had a concert and trotted them all out one by one. You should give it a look and a listen, a truly astounding event.

They are SO good live!! I never miss them if they are close.
    Matt Apps is amazing.
It is worth going because there’s nothing like a MULE crowd.
Warren and Woody were in the Allman Brothers together.

Just saw these guys last Friday (2/23) here in Austin! Hell of a show! Second time seeing them. One of the best blues/rock jam bands around. This was the "Thirty Years Strong" tour. They played two sets with a short intermission. The show ran about 3 hours of fantastic music.

If you come across a 60s or 70s song that you wish had a 20 minute version... chances are Mule have done it live once or twice. Always worth taking a look for their covers. Their New Years Eves shows from the Roxy are legendary!

That’s was just the trio. They define the term power trio. They became a 4 piece after Woody passed adding keys. The other musicians listed sat in on other songs. As with the first I chose this is also the show opener. No one open like the Mule!

Oh, you just opened the gates. I just saw them at the beginning of the month. Front row... f'n incredible. Everything is stellar. Best cover band ever, with a huge catalog of original tunes. Try Sad and Deep as You off of the same album. She Said is unbelievably good, and Madman Across the Water, Cortez the Killer, Beautifully Broken, Banks of the Deep End, I could go on. I think I was way overly excited you did this❤

Seen Gov' Mule a bunch of times, starting in September 2000, about a week before the late, great Mule Bassist Allen Woody passed. Had the honor of meeting and talking with Warren Haynes, with a bunch of friends, after a different show. He was way cool, signed my ticket, and the left tit of a girl in our group. Hey, he's a ROCK STAR! Warren is, along with Derek Trucks, the best Guitarist on tour these days, IMVHO. Also seen Warren with The Allman Brothers and Phil Lesh and Friends, he is amazing.

So, to answer your question, they've been together since about 1995. Started as.a side project for Allen Woody and Warren Haynes from The Allman Brothers Band. They've released two albums in the past couple of years, with one nominated for a blues Grammy. Still touring and going strong. Do yourself a favor and see them live if you can.

Nice reaction. Warren is a local boy, seen him a bunch. Every December Warren host a show the Christmas Jam, I went to my first one in 1993. It's been nice to have a local Warren Haynes/GM and friends show every year. Its a small venue with a festival type atmosphere. Everybody and their brother has played this show and shared the stage with Warren. This year it was Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top........ speaking of you should do some ZZ Top, Lagrange will light you up.

What I'd do for Warren to still have this oomf in his voice after all these years. I've seen him probably 80 times and age is catching up to his voice making it more nasally and not as powerful as yesteryear. He's my all time favorite musician no doubt, though.
