I remember seeing Danny back in the 70's in a tent leading an early version of The Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo, for a KPFK fund raising event at the Hollywood Palladium. What a fantastic show. Thanks for presenting this video to the masses. The technical aspects of this production is so huge, it is truly a sight to see, and hear.
@@WickedNature2112 Yes, still used for touring productions. One thing I didn't mention. Danny and Crew performed in a Tent in the parking lot outside the main building. Which suited the performance very well.
l never thought I'd get the chance to see Danny Elfman or Oingo Boingo live and when l heard barely last night that he was at the Hollywood bowl l was crushed l wasn't going to be able to make it but thanks man you came thru !
Danny elfman is simply the greatest!!! From the very first time I saw boingo I was hooked. So much that I didn’t miss a show after my third concert. When they played 4-6 shows at Halloween I was at all of them !!! Then at the other end of the year I watched all of them! I drove to Santa Barbara three nights in a row from chino ca to see them at the Santa Barbara county bowl!! Unfortunately this trip around I fell on hard times and could not go . Still represent a boingo tattoo the little skeleton with the sombrero and (joint) in his mouth!!! Thanks for posting this . Brought back so many memories . Boingo fan for life! I’ll tell you this. If he comes back I will be in the front as I always was. If you want anything close to seeing boingo live go watch “Dead man’s party” they are the best boingo cover band .
l saw them at the Sante Fe Spring Swap Meet as a kid and l was blown away how they almost sounded exactly the same! So good l took some of the posters after the show cause l sure as hell didn't think I'd ever get to see a live Boingo show so l thought it'd be the next best thing 🤣
Thanks for posting. This was an epic show - I attended Saturday with my 18 yo daughter who is also a fan. A once in a lifetime experience of classic boingo that I grew up with, elfman’s new solo material, and his many well known movie scores all mixed together by dozens of musicians on stage in a tapestry of fun. Truly unique and unforgettable!

Danny Killed it ! Omg Superstar Rock God. I didn't even know who he was a week before the show. I worked there and saw almost every performance of the 2022 season and his ranked number 1 to me ! Cheers to the music 🎶
I'm awestruck at his talent, and that he's still performing at 70. I hope you've checked out his history and original band! I originally was a fan of his movie scores and grew up with Nightmare Before Christmas, so when I discovered Oingo Boingo I was fascinated. Everything he does is so unique and magical! His voice has gotten better somehow!

This amazing. It's awesome to see Danny bring back so many Boingo classics in addition to material from Big Mess and his various film scores. And of course, can't forget the great Steve Bartek.

I find a few of his rock punk solos to be quite cartoony and animated in some ways. It’s like Rocko’s Modern Life all the way back to the cartoons of the Fleischer days. I can agree with Tim Burton that his music was very filmic before Pee-wee to Nightmare Before Christmas came about. He’s my favorite composers alongside John Williams, Randy Newman, Alan Menken, to the composers of the golden era.
Yep, this is the best show I think I've ever seen and everything as an Elfman Fan I could ever want. Would you mind letting me slice these up to upload indiviudally and try and mixing it a little? Will credit you as the source on all the audio I upload from it.

If i had to guess, the existence of in-ear monitoring and digital amp replacements probably changed everything for him and he probably felt like it was finally worth it to start doing it again knowing he could get up on stage and not get absolutely wrecked. haha
I recorded a couple of songs tonight but I couldn’t hold still enough. Actually I was amazed that nobody else in my section was hopping around like I was. How do they hold so still?! Is it that they’re drunk on alcohol while I’m high on coffee?!

Thank you for this video. I love the movie music of Danny Elfmann and would very much enjoy hearing it at a concert hall. But being force-fed his alternative kind of music would make me leave. Just from hearing it now (had to skip it) had me experience uncomfortable feelings and emotions. Sorry, just expressing my opinion.
That’s kind of the point. It’s supposed to make you feel uncomfortable. I’m pretty sure one of those songs was even about people being stupid enough to go along willingly with unethical human experimentation. Maybe that’s why it scared you.
