you are really good at selling books... lol. I felt the same way about the push. I was OBSESSED with the way it was woven, and written. Its a phenomenal book.
Happy new year! The fact you have so few subscribers is mind blown😳the horror book community in general needs more love!! Added some to my list can’t wait to read them. I love your videos and can relate to your opinions so much. 🖤
Thank you SO MUCH! Happy new year! I feel like the entire horror community on RUclips has such little subs compared to everyone else lol I hope you love the books!! ❤️
As much as I love your rants, it was great to see you so excited about this books! I had never heard of anyone liking The Maid hehehe but now you've made me curious about it....Rosemary's Baby is one of my all-time faves! I really want that edition of the book!
I literally just found your channel because it was recommended on my home feed, and I’m wondering how I have never come across you before!! We have almost identical taste in books! Yay!
It's super helpful when you highlight when it's like a beginner extreme horror, especially because I really want to try one but I'm like God where do I start when I have never read any.... I have no idea what my tolerance levels are yet.. defo not one for animal cruelty really struggle. Thanks for your content love it ❤❤
Great to hear you talk about so many books that you enjoyed so much - I know you've had plenty of the other kind! What also struck me is that this is a rather varied selection. I definitely think it helps to read more broadly in term of genres as it allows us to experience different thoughts, emotions etc. Besides, it would also just get tedious if we always read the same kind of thing. As I've mentioned, I'm trying to stop buying so many books [good luck with that, right, lol 🙂] so if I had to choose just a couple of these that I'm going to have to read, I think it'll be They Never Learn and The Weight of Blood. And, agreed about We Spread and Tender is the Flesh: two of my definite favourites of the year too. Such intriguing and thought-provoking books. I also agree with what you said about most of the other books I've also read too!
Ira Levin is kinda underrated. Three of the best horror ideas of all-time: Rosemary's Baby, Boys From Brazil, and Stepford Wives. I might have to dive into some of his lesser known books.
two extreme horror novels i highly recommend if you haven't read already: when she weeps by jon athan black farm by elias witherow my two favorite extreme horror novels of all time, and i read them in 2022. great year for extreme horror for me!
Thank you for adding Rosemary's Baby. I read that book when it came out. (yes, I'm old) The original movie with Mia Farrow is outstanding!! I've watched it many time. If you can find a copy of Stepford Wives also by Ira Levin 1972 read it! Also. find the ORGINAL movie. You won't be disappointed!
Hey Meg! First video I am seeing of yours and as a horror fan, I am so happy to find your page. I am also wanting to start a horror channel myself, what camera do you use? The quality is fantastic!
Jon Athan isn't dead Meg. I think you are tjinking of British author Jonathan Raban, who died at age 80 in January 2023. I don't think anyone knows the surname of Jon Athan who just uses his first name (Jonathan). Great list btw ... I have read most of these and loved them too.
I always think that we disagree on a lot of books (ahem House of Leaves 🤣🤣🤣) but all of the books you’ve talked about here that I’ve read (ALMOST ALL OF THEM) I 100% agree with!!! You’re the bestest 💛💛💛
Yayyyy so happy!! I actually think our taste is pretty similar aside from a few books. I always see your reviews on goodreads and they’re almost always the same as mine 😂 you’re the best also 💛💛
I liked The Push, but I found it from Reese’s book club and I feel like all the books they suggest are very cinematic and written to be made into films. Has kind of turned me off her suggestions.

Yes such a good one! I was so obsessed with the writing style 🥹

I just love horror and thriller books. Great video.

Thank you so much! Yeah it’s hard finding ones that don’t contain certain triggers tbh and I don’t always remember what is in what
Good recommendations. I'm like 2/3 through Brother which I think you also recommended.
Yesss I hope you like it! It’s one of my favorite books
Thank you for making such an useful video, loved your collection
Thank you! Hope you enjoy them!

Thank you!! Yeah I can never just stick to one genre. Too many of the same genre in a row puts me in a slump!
You have me soooo intrigued with petrified women!
Such a good one!
Omg, off topic, but what nail polish are you wearing? It looks so good! Is it Cancer from Lights Lacquer?
Thank you! They are actually kiss press ons!

Hope you love them! And yes thank you so much! 🥹🫶🏻

Both the book and movie are amazing! An all time favorite for me
@@ReadingWithMeg I ordered the anniversary copy of Rosemary's Baby on Ebay. I hope the print is bigger than the Mass Market Paperback!! LOL
THe GROOMER!!! SOOOO Good..had to skip a few pages though....THe Ending!!! The beginning!!!
YESSSSS SO GOOD!!!
"It's short and depressing" Ha ha... what a reccomendation.
I'm currently reading The Devil Crept In by Ania Ahlborn. I am enjoying it. Have it on my Kindle.
Glad to hear you’re enjoying it! I love her writing
I was waiting for this video!!
😬
The Devil Crept In is very similar to The Return (Rachel Harrison). Have you read that one??
I have not but I’d like to! Definitely adding it to my list ☺️
I felt the exact same way with the Push. I’m not even a kid person 😂
Same I don’t even like kids yet here I am sobbing? 😂
Hey Meg! First video I am seeing of yours and as a horror fan, I am so happy to find your page. I am also wanting to start a horror channel myself, what camera do you use? The quality is fantastic!
Hi thank you so much! My camera is actually super super old and has some auto focus issues from time to time lol but it’s the cannon rebel t6i
Meg, have you ever read the original creepypasta that the Penpal book is based on? the author wrote a creepypasta first
I have not! I did hear it was a creepypasta originally though
I loved The Push. In my top 3 last year x
Such a great one!
34:26. The best memoir you've ever read is _The Dirt_ by Mötley Crüe. Bar none.
Thank you 😊
Of course! ☺️
If you liked Rosemary's baby, you shoul check out Boys From Brazil, also by Ira Levin
I’ll have to check it out!!

Haha, yes! I don't trust you as a person if you don't like Penpal! 😂 That's a perfect way to explain that book 👏 it's so good! Great list!
Lol thank you!!! My love for Penpal is strong 😂
@@ReadingWithMeg I like to read.Penpal, too. Think it's.on my Kindle or at least the first few chapters.

I liked The Push, but I found it from Reese’s book club and I feel like all the books they suggest are very cinematic and written to be made into films. Has kind of turned me off her suggestions.
Yeah I usually hate her suggestions half the time I’m like okay but did she even read this book 😂
I loved For the Sake Of! I found the first more disgusting than the second one though ☺️
Omg I was gagging reading the second one lol
@@ReadingWithMeg I did for the first one!
I really want to check out Jeanette McCurdies’ book I was such a fan of Sam and Cat and ICarly 😂😊
Omg you NEED TO
“I don’t trust you if you don’t like this book” 😂💀
I’m only speaking the truth 😂
Tender is the flesh 4.0
Confessions 3.5
The girl next door 4.0
American psycho or Psycho?
Like if I had to pick one? I can’t I love both my children equally 😂
