I am the biggest Keith Whitley fan in the world. I am so thankful that Mark recorded this song. Maybe the only voice that even comes close to hurting me like my Kentucky Bluebird does. This is one of the greatest/truest country songs ever written. I live this tune everyday of my life even 30 years later.

You know it!!!! He sounds so much like him!!!!! Keith was one of, I and My Husbands Favorites, along with Mark here!!! So many great songs!! This is one of my all time Favorites. The 70's -90's were the absolute Best!!! I gave My Husband an Ultimatum, but he did the work!!! Addictions are so difficult, especially when they are pre-empted by a sorrow. This song is so real it's one of the Best I have ever heard. !!! I am a Woman, and I know some Men,( like Women), experience terrible sadness at losses, too, even though they try to be strong, but turn to alcohol, and drugs.

I'm seriously gonna go there and say that Mark is the only country singer to ever come close to The late great Keith Whitley's incomparable voice. Keith's version cuts to the heart like no other song can, but Mark carries on for Keith. I love & respect both of these men. Great job Mark!!!

I "used" to have all these good ol country cd's and cassettes of all the good country tunes of the late 1980's and 1990's, then some nuts broke in my home and stole them all :( so happy for the World Wide Web to watch these good music videos and all the best country fans posting them ♥ I LOVE YOU ALL ♥ these country music sure "melts my butter "!!

Let me say first that I am a huge Mark Chesnutt fan!! Great singer, great voice, great songs! The fact that he sings this shows he is true to country music. It sort of makes me sick tho, knowing that so many more people, here on youtube, have listened to this version than Keith Whitley's original version. Great job Mark Chesnutt!! Now everyone go check out Keith's version too!!!

My wife and I were visiting our youngest son and his wife and our granddaughter, one day me and our son went out for a short trip to the store and this song came up on my pandora playlist. He looked at me and said does this song remind you of anyone in particular? I asked him well, does it remind you of anyone in particular? We both said in unison, “Betsy” (his girl from way back). This Hank Cochran/Keith Whitley song was super popular in Japan and Thailand when I was over there in 2008. I think it went way up the chart to #2 on the Japanese clone of Billboard. All the local guys were singing it there. Same along Soi Cowboy (Cowboy Street) in Krung Tep (Bangkok). Never heard Keith Whitley's version 'til I got back stateside.
Met Mark in 1992 and he is still a cutie and still can sing a song!! Great job!!

I know, I never understood why he wasn't. He has an excellent voice ! Seems like sex appeal has alot to do with it. He's attractive in his own way, but....kinda like when Kenny Chesney first debuted, he was a skinny little excellent singer. Then he beefed up and started wearing muscle tanks, he took off. Sad, but that is how the marketing goes...
