Trivium fans who say that the album is bad, already sound like those Metallica fans who believe that the band "died" from the 90's just because they changed their style slightly and that their worst album was St. Anger. I don't think Metallica's fame was made only by the albums they released in the 80s.
Lost my mother due to cancer on 26th of May 2021. Everytime this song came next on my playlist I would always skip it, because i couldn't listen to it without crying. Recently I've been listening to this song, I don't usually skip it now. The feeling to cry is still there (and it's ok to cry) but now, eveytime I listen to it, I just remember all the good moments I had with her, it makes me happy.

When I first heard this album I was disgusted and upset.....Then I listened to Blind Leading The Blind and thought at least I can rock out to this song....Then I listened to Until The World Goes Cold a week later and thought nice,I am all for a great and hard ballad....Then I listened to the title track a week after that and thought the instrumentals really carry this song and make it great.....Then I listened to the whole album and it speaks to me and gets to me more than any other Trivium album ever has....People can hate because it is nothing like their previous albums,but unless you give it a fair chance,you will be missing out on amazing lyrics and powerful meanings in every song......Trivium for life......Trivium is life!!!

I like the album too, but man, those lyrics are pretty weak at times.
People are so stupid, they can't even think. They say Silence in the Snow sucks, because there aren't any memorable solos or riffs. This cd was built for Matt's voice, music is accompanies it. If i want to hear riffs, i will listen to Ascendancy, if i want to hear solos, i will listen to Shogun and if i want to hear how great Matt's voice can be, i will listen to Silence in the Snow.
+Sotiris Karagiannis Trivium doesn't sound good as a vocal oriented band. Their first 5 albums were guitar oriented, this album is being shit on for the same reason vengeance falls was shit on, The quality of the guitar work sucked and the vocals were to up front.

Go listen to Shogun right now this is not a request it's an order, haha. All of Trivium's albums are great, but Shogun in particular is truly special.
First 5 Trivium albums were great, the next two.. meh, not so much. This new album better be good, it’s the most anticipated metal album of 2017 IMO. The 3 singles they released so far got my attention. I think The Sin And the Sentence will be the best album since In Waves. I have strong hopes that this will be a great album. 🤘🔥

This song really speaks to me, its funny how Triviums lyrics can have different interpretations based on how you think.
I lost my father, I struggled with depression, I was angry with the world for not only stealing my best friend but for also failing itself.
I felt like everything that was good to me, whether luck or people would turn into something bad like reverse karma, it was light that turned to darkness.
Sounds really depressing but it motivates me to do my best.

I’m becoming obsessed with this album, Matt is one of the best singers I’ve ever heard imo and the riffs, leads and melodies are fantastic and the guitar tone is out of this world. The songwriting is amazing. I love this vibey, atmospheric, melodic and mature sound. Not enough metal bands have that.

Everything about this song is already perfect, but Corey's lead I feel like is what really pushes it over the edge into greatness. I hear that melody hours after I finish listening to this song.

it blows my mind with just how many under the radar great bands there are on youtube that people in modern day dont know about or appreciate.
It’s because only cheesy 70’s and 80’s bands are allowed to be popular (because of butthurt 50 year olds) and trash modern mainstream music culture and also metal eletists giving metal a bad image to the public making them think it’s all like grindcore or something like that.

To me Silence in the snow is the matured sound of their core music skills and songwriting attitude.
If you see trivium live in 2017, every song from every album fits in perfectly and it all makes sense.
This band is on an all time high of its creative power anhd professionality.
