I actually went to Hobby Lobby and picked up some stuff ( kids markers and elmers glue was what my craft supplies consisted of ). I have never done anything creative before but I have always been envious of those that do. Wow Leanne - just amazing..if you hadn't said anything, I would have never known that was your first go at art journaling - it is stunning! I just can't bring myself to start one...I think I'm just too Type-A and left-brained...but after seeing yours, I think I may have to try to tap into the abstract right-brain. I have a hard time not being linear and symetrical and art journaling is all about randomness and free-flow...anything goes. You make it look easy. Thanks for the inspiration!

I use a sizzix big shot machine =) I don't own a lot of copics...lol...still have a lot of practice in that area and it sort of got pushed back due to my new love for mixed media hahahahaha!!!! Just a couple of heads up be aware of how texture (particularly the twine) will affect subsequent pages, and later you may want to put a line of tape down the page join to stop inks seeping through binding onto subsequent or previous pages.

I just make sure I use a moderate amount of mod podge (not too little...and not too much) then I seal the papers down really well and remove the air bubbles. A tip to avoid air bubbles is to make sure the paper is completey dry before adding a top coat of mod podge. I remember watching a tutorial on youtube...by the makers of mod podge. That's how I learned the tricks =) Hope that helps =)
i went out and bought a mixed media pad, but I think i might get a different one.. its not bound very well.. anyway, I want to get into doing this too.. your start page is A Mazing as always... getting your package together and will let you know when its on its way. what die cut machines do you own? do you have a favorite?
